Can I combine folic acid with oral contraceptive pill?

is there anyone from here who tried taking folic acid and contraceptive pills at the same time? I just had a miscarriage experience and my OB advised me to take both in preparation of my next pregnancy, but still im wondering. I just want to make sure that my next pregnancy will be successful.
