Wedding Package - Yes or No?
« on: June 06, 2017, 12:49:55 am »
Me and my hubby to be are planning to have our wedding this coming December... I have seen some accounts in fb offering wedding packages and even tried searching in google which seems to be affordable/reaasinable. Do you think it's a good choice? Hassle free ba talaga? We are also working while preparing for the wedding that's why we are thinking of just paying a certain amount and let the people do the majority of the preparation.

Please share me your thoughts and experience. And if you can recommend an affordable wedding package. 😘

We were also tempted about these wedding packages. I even made a spreadsheet to compare the prices if we were to get the suppliers individually. And I must say na mas mura nga if we'll get the package.

Downside is, I don't like some of the suppliers. And I learned that most will be "basic" like for example, the setup/styling and the sound system. Which will still entail additional costs if you want a specific style or a full band setup for sounds. Also, there was a friend of mine who got a full wedding package but got stressed on the day because the flowers that was provided to them wasn't what they agreed upon. According to the planner, the flower prices during that time (it was before Feb 14) was high and they weren't able to account for that.

So for us, we just booked our suppliers individually and those that I really like. Parang kino-compare ko din sya sa mga packaged tours when travelling. Most of them have hidden costs na magugulat ka na lang on the spot.

My advise is, scrutinize every detail about these wedding packages. What are the inclusions of every supplier and also do some research if those suppliers are also reputable. Maybe you can also get a trustworthy full wedding coordinator? You can tell them your budget and they will find suppliers within that budget range subject for your approval din naman.

Reviving this topic as I am planning our 2021 wedding  :)
Just wanna see if there are recent brides/grooms who availed of all-in wedding packages seen thru facebook and what were your experiences or review. There are some under 200k only, complete with venue, catering, p/v, lights & sounds, etc. We are on a tight budget that's why we are considering the all-in packages.

Hi Sis, also a 2021 bride here. Actually because of the limited selection of the all-in packages, H2B and I opted to source it out ourselves. Plus mas nakaka-haggle pa with suppliers of your choice. :D though we did get a package sa venue. but for the rest, sourced out thru unli research and big help sa mga wedding threads sa iba't ibang social media platforms. hehe

^I was thinking also quality won't be as good as getting different suppliers. Due to extended ECQ we're actually thinking of pushing back our wedding to 2022 huhu. But I'm still inquiring with a lot of suppliers. Where do you plan to wed?

It's hard to say. But definitely do your research and develop a style as you go. Depending din kasi sa priority and budget mo eh.

If you're a bride who is quite picky and is after quality, then I would recommend to hire your wedding suppliers separately as ang napapansin ko is minsan na-sasacrifice yung quality pag all in one package. Hindi na namamaintain or na susupervise na lahat ng coordinator yung lahat ng suppliers nya. At least pag individual and you separate contracts each, they have their specialization and they each have a reputation to uphold.

Hi  Sis, we will push through with our original date, January 16, 2021. :)

Ceremony Venue is Mary The Queen Parish in Greenhills
Reception Venue is Novotel Manila Araneta Center

Good thing nabook namin sila 2 weeks before this ECQ happened. :)

We went all out DIY for our wedding.
I'm an active hands on groom-to-be, and it also helps that both me and my bride are both account executives from ad agencies, so dealing with suppliers is like second nature already.

With wedding packages (or getting a full-time planner), you deal with and pay for their services and man hours on top of the actual cost of the package inclusions. Profit margin is expected.

With DIY, while it does take a bit of your time, the plus here is flexibility and of course, tons of savings. We're tying the knot this August (moved from June, then November 2020) and we initially found tons of package options for Antipolo weddings.  Price ranges between half a million to 800k for the inclusions that we wanted.  When we went DIY, we were able to drive down our costs to less than 400k. That's a lot of savings.  ;D

I am more than confident that it is worth doing, it is necessary

I am more than confident that there should be such parcels. My husband and I often made such parcels because we saw it as a particular interest. I think packages24.com is very helpful in such cases. The day we found this tracker, we stopped worrying about our packages because, at any minute, we could track the location of what we ordered. This is the case now with wedding packages and all other purchases from online stores. What I like about this tracker is that you can track a parcel even if it is coming from another country

I assumed that the quality would be inferior if I obtained various providers. We are seriously considering postponing our wedding to 2022 due to ECQ growth huhu. But I'm still contacting vendors. Where do you intend to hold your wedding? gartic phone
