Is it really advisable to take out a loan from SSS?
« on: July 24, 2018, 05:16:10 pm »
Asked an HR friend regarding this and sabi naman niya is kaya lang lumalaki yun sa second loan is because nakaipon ka na ulit or dahil lumaki contribution mo.

I am so confused kung magloloan ba ko for the sake of it kahit hindi ko naman kailangan or wag na. Advisable ba talaga magloan mga sis?

As far as I know, yung loan na makukuha mo is fixed based on contributions and after two years of continuous contributions - but you can probably find that info online as well.

Yung sa second reason naman, I've heard stories about that as well. I think what happened before was there were unscrupulous people taking out loans on behalf of members ng hindi alam nung member.

I've actually spoken to an older lady while in queue at SSS na she was had to pay a loan that she allegedly took out waaaay back years before na she never knew about. She said she never took out any loans and now she had to pay it back or she wouldn't be able to get kung ano man yung nilalakad nya nung time na yun unless she cleared out that loan first.

So on that reasoning, if you took out a loan, nobody would be able to do that on your account since you have a loan outstanding already hehe.

IMHO, if you have no pressing need, don't take out a loan because you will still be paying interest on it. If you're concerned about the safety of your account, just be vigilant where you share your SSS number and bdate. Plus, you can also access your account online nowadays unlike before na mano-mano pa so you can immediately be made aware of anything fishy with your account like delayed payment of premiums and loans, etc.

Hehe.

Paano nangyari yun eh first time niya lang? At naging usapan kinakaltasan siya ng loan balance every pay out. Tapos i-credit back nalang kapag nabayadan na. Kaloka. On the positive note parang nag force savings nalang kami. Kasi year 2017 na credit back yung amount.

So ang nangyari ganito. Nakuha niya ang yung amount na 15,000. Pero ang kaltas eh yung 15,000 plus more or less 30,000. So parang binayadan namin in 1 year ay 45,000 plus interest. Tapos the next year binalik yung 30,000 nalang. Yan daw ang easiest and most realistic resolution na pwedeng gawin.

Tama ba?
Nakakaawa kasi ang sahod nya that time 13k per month lang.

Ayun parang nangyari naka time deposit kami that time.

Yes daw to keep your account active.

Just make sure you will stay employed for the entire duration of the loan. Hassle ata mag change employers if you have an outstanding loan, unless ikaw mismo mag settle ng dues or agree to have it deducted from your backpay.

I have taken our an SSS loan 2x and so far so good! I also regularly check my SSS online account to make sure there's no funny business.

Yes and No.

Yes

No
