I know I posted something similar before but here I am again.

Last Feb I finally had the courage to resign from a job that is very unhealthy, made me lose my confidence and made me depressed.

I am an interior design graduate and failed the board before hence not yet licensed. That was my first job and I regret it very much dahil hindi rin healthy maging boss yung employer ko. It was a home office kaya alam ko rin wala talaga asenso though I am not saying na lahat ng home office ganun.

Wala benefits, raise at wala ako natutunan.

Right now I am looking for work but the preference for licensed and more experienced designers is making it hard for me to land a job.

Nagfreelance ako ngayon pero kulang pa since I am a bread winner.. Kailangan ko talaga ng stable job. Mejo naddepress nako kasi kung isasama ko yung months na naghahanap ako work habang employed, I have been looking for work for almost three years na.

For those advising me to go abroad, I barely have enough experience and believe me I tried and failed na rin kasi nga kulang pa sa experience. Those who have been advising me to take the board, I need to find a job muna because the review would cost me money I don't have right now.

I don't know what to do, gusto ko na talaga makahanap work and it's making me very very depressed.

Sis, do you really have to be a breadwinner at a young age? Wala Na ba puede umako ng responsibility mo?

In getting a job, minsan timing lang talaga. Habang nag aantay ka ng right opportunity, make sure you learn from this experience - inayos mo ba mabuti CV mo? Confident/positive attitude ba ang pina pakita mo sa interviews? You hold the key to your success. Don't lose hope, pray ka lang lagi.

Not to brag or anything:
When i was starting never ako nahirapan makahanap ng work. (May because i am not choosy)
Pag naramdaman ko na walang asenso sa work nayun i resign agad-agad kahit na mababait pa ang boss.

One thing i learned sa pag hahanap ng work... Do not focused on what you have finished sa college instead focus on the things na kaya mong gawin.

Me i finished 2 courses both are done while working student ako. Business Computer Programming and Management Major in Business Management.

I worked as a customer service representative.
I become a trainer for technical (na walang-wala akong ka alam-alam. Baon kolang ang lakas ng loob na inaral yung ituturo ko.)
Also become a Dinning supervisor (same thing wala ako expierience doon. Again lakas lang din ng loob na ma try yun.)

For me, as long as you can assert yourself. Knows to answer the interviewer...to follow na ang the rest.

Dito na ako nag tagal sa work nato as exec.Secretary. Ang layo diba! 10years na ako next year and availing the early retirement program ng company.

Ito ang winoworry ko pag umalis na ko sa current work ko. Nagresign na kasi ako dito sa work ko effective sa july. same reason ng sau TS walang asenso, increase at ibang benefits na meron sa iba. Iniisip ko nga baka naccompare ko lang ang sarili ko sa iba, siguro meron ngang factor na ganun. Pero gusto ko kasi makahanap ng mas magandang trabaho para makatulong pa sa family kasi dito sa work ko nakikita kong dead end na ito kung mag stay pa ako. Syempre thankful ako na may trabaho ako ngayon pero pano ako aasenso kung magstay ako sa isang trabaho pero nakikita ko namang walang future.

galing mo sis kikaygirl5810 kasi open ka to welcome new opportunities at mag iba ng career path. Iniisip ko pa din ang pag iba ng career. Ang hirap lang kasi ilet go ang profession na meron ako pero alam ko kakayanin ko to.

kaya TS don't lose hope. Kaya mo yan! Makakahanap ka din ng trabaho. Siguro like sis kikaygirl wag maging masyadong choosy sa work lalo na kung kelangan mo talaga. I know, Madaling sabihin pero mahirap gawin lalo na kung di mo gusto ang gagawin mo pero why not give it a try muna before you quit. Malay mo magustuhan mo pala. Apply lang ng apply sis. Basta do your best lang para sa huli di ka magsisi na kulang ang ginawa mong effort kaya wala ka pa din mahanap. Good luck sis!

Sis snix how old are you? Isipin mo na lang, kung ang Jollibee nga ang return of investment nya takes 5 or so years, so meaning sa first 5 years walang nangyayare, walang kita... What I'm saying is don't give up, never lose hope kasi once that sets into your brain, wala ka ng ibang papaniwalaan kundi yan.

I have to partly agree with sis kikaygirl, if your concern is most financial, na kelangan may pera ka para makapag review, or because you're a breadwinner, then go for the job that offers the money. Wag na munang mapili kasi nga as you said, wala ka pang gaanong experience. But, continue doing freelance. Mag invest ka din doon, while working for the job that pays the bills. Para at least hindi mo naman mafeel na sayang ang pinag aralan mo.

And yes, Girltalker2 was right. Kung aura mo pa lang eh defeated na, baka pati employer mo ay magdoubt din sayo.

Ang story ko naman, I was hired in the university to teach just a year after I graduated. Semestral ang appointment ko for 4 yrs, that means I was not a regular employee, and if they choose not to give me teaching load for the semester, then they're free to do so at wala akong habol doon. Wala din akong benefits. Minsan nga nagugulat yung mga tao to know na wala akong benefits, (and hindi ako tenured, even discount sa hospital services wala),kasi the university and its hospital is really well known. Naisip ko din minsan na if I get pregnant now, or get hospitalized for whatever reason, wala sila maitutulong sa akin (so parang feeling ko, I invested myself in this university na wala naman pala akong mapapala kung may mangyari sa akin). So dahil walang security ang job ko, although it pays well, and madaming opportunities to expand my horizon, I went ahead and looked for options. My sister and I opened up a small business (which is far from what i'm comfortable doing), and I tried my luck with US licensure. So far our business is doing good, and I'm about to take my licensure in the states next month. And you know what happened? They offered me tenureship just a few weeks ago. So para bang yung 4 yrs na inaantay ko silang isecure ako with the job, yung 4 yrs na feeling ko wala akong future sa kanila, bigla naman nagsabay sabay yung opportunities this time.

So I guess timing also takes part in it. But my point really is, go out there. Madaming opportunities outside of what you're familiar with. And don't feel defeated kasi once inisip mo yan, then for every step na gagawin you'll feel that way. Kaya mo yan, sis.

Mukhang yan ang malaking balakid mo. License. Can you not just study on your own?

Dumaan din kasi ako sa board exams. I am one of the people in my batch who took the (yes, expensive) review, while others decided not to. You know what? Dami rin namang pumasa na hindi na nagreview (and some of them have started working na). But that's at least in my profession though.

Thank you for the words of encouragement mga sis.. Let me state that I am not being choosy.. Hindi ko alam kung madedefine ba as choosy na hindi ko tinatanggap mga trabaho na mas mababa pa alok kesa sa sinsweldo ko dati.. 10-12k a month ang offer sakin with no benefits at all.. Babawasan pa yan ng tax and government benefits so magkano na lang take home pay ko?

I would be happy to accept any job right now na alam ko.. I am also applying to other jobs outside of my field na rin..  Some days I am okay pero pag sunod sunod na rejection na, I feel very hopeless and worthless and ai cry every night..

I am turning 25 this year bata pa daw pero I don't like seeing my family struggle.. Aside from this pala let me give you a brief story about my boss whom zi think contributes to my depresson: my boss is very moody, one time she's happy and okay and then the next she's shouting at you. I have been shamed in front of other people by my boss, namura ng PI in front of other people and kapag nagkakasakit ako siya pa galit.. Wala naman akong sick leave kaya absent yun. When she asks me to do ivertime work, hindi niya pinapafile na OT yun. I endured it for 3 long years all because I couldn't find a replacement. And sa sobrang tamad niya, she makes me check her student's projects and tests.

That job made me feel worthless. Until now, dala dala ko rin.. I'm really, really down right now. i can't think straight and I lost all positivity in me.

Sis heartfortress, sana hindi ka mahirapan sa paghahanap ng work tulad ko. I wish you luck.

^ sis, how are you na? have you found a work na ba? ako nga rin, last june pa nagdecide na magjob hunting pero hanggang ngayon wala pa rin. Though may 2 final interviews na ko next week. Just dont lose hope if ever wala ka parin nakukuha, darating din yung time na para sayo. Ipagpray mo din lagi.

TS pwede mo rin subukang mag call center muna para maiba naman ang environment mo - try mo din sa mga job fairs or magpasa ka online. Kapag may tumanggap na sayo stay ka for a year para makapag ipon para sa license mo then kapag ok na pwede ka nang mag-apply sa ibang companies related sa field mo. Maybe kaya ka niya din-down is para mawalan ka ngn kumpyansa sa sarili mo at di ka maghanap ng ibang work.

I really wish makahanap/nakahanap ka na ng job para makaalis ka na diyan sa damuho mong boss.

Hay same here naghahanap since May. Recently disappointing lang may final interview ako at ang sabi I passed then next job offer na pero kasi may ibang iinterviewhin pa raw after ko so unless daw mas magaling sa akin, expect na ako raw mapipili at they'll notify within me the day.

I waited and even if I told myself not to expect too much but the fact they gave you that glimpse of hope, I still did. I waited for a week but nothing. I followed up and still nothing until today they replied but only said they'll follow up the result.

I was browsing tonight online applying for other jobs as I wanted to have other options since I haven't heard from them their final decision. I saw the same position I applied for was posted a few days after my last interview. So it seems they didn't chose anyone. Akin lang sana hindi ganyan mga HR people na nagbibitaw ng salita na akala mo tuloy baka ikaw na matanggap para walang aasa sa wala. Hindi kasi nakakatuwa eh. Yun lang siguro at least now na new month I can accept and move on. Pero medyo masakit pa rin. Sigh...

^in your situation sis, you don't have a chance talaga na matanggap. kasi when they say na bumalik nalang mostly di na nila kinocontact eh. have patience lang sis sa pag hahanap ng trabaho

critical ang licensing sa field mo snix so iyon sana ang i push mo muna. look for a high paying job  even if it is not related to your career para lang  masustain nya ang  review mo at pagiging breadwinner mo. one step at a time lang para hindi ka ma overwhelm sa mga career goals mo. i was on a job hunt for a certain period of time at nakaka upset din talaga na mareject lalo na dream company mo ang gusto mo mapasukan pero i just moved on to my next  job interview and another interview hanggang sa ma hire na ako. apply lang ng apply. good luck sis

Have you tried applying on BPO companies? If you're in luck, and you get hired, work the hardest then with the money that you could possibly gain from their try to enrol on reviews for your licensure (if there's any) so you'd have a chance to pursue your actual profession again. It just takes a little sacrifice for now but I believe you'd find the benefit of all of it later on.

I agree na tumanggap ka muna ng ibang work even not related sa field mo. You really need the money right now so yun na muna ang target mo. Kailangan mo lang ng healthier environment para mawala depression mo.

Mind you, my first boss was also like that. Parang may sapi. Kung makasigaw, rinig hanggang kabilang department. Nakakahiya. Nagdadabog, binabalibag mga filing cabinets, and so on. I resigned on my 4th month. Hindi pwede sa akin yun. Kasi totoong nakakadepress. I felt worthless, nawala lahat ng confidence ko. Feeling ko ang t**** t**** ko. Araw araw while commuting for work, nagdadasal ako na sana absent sya. Marinig ko palang pangalan ko, napaparanoid na ako (Super natataranta ako pag tinatawag nya ako). Grabe talaga ang naidulot na trauma sa akin. But I told myself, wala sa akin ang problema. Sya talaga yung problema kasi ang bilis ng turnover ng employees. Walang gustong ma-under sa kanya.

After I resigned, it took a while before I regained my confidence. Kasi pati sa interviews, bumaba talaga self-worth ko eh at kitang kita yun ng employers. Basta apply lang ng apply. Don't stop. Everyday, magschedule ka ng maaapplyan mo kahit walk-in. Magprint ka ng maraming resume. I'm sure sa dinami-rami ng naapplyan mo, imposible naman na walang mag-offer sayo. Basta don't be choosy muna kasi breadwinner ka eh. Kahit na ano, go lang muna.

Same age tayo nung time na I decided to work abroad.  Ang work na hinahanap ko that time was anything related to Human Resources since Psych grad ako.  Pero tinanggap ko ibang position - Guest Relations Executive in a Restaurant para lang makapagsimula na.  Mas forgiving ata sa ibang bansa coz they accepted me even if I have ZERO experience in Food and Beverage, and I am below 5ft ha! haha

Somehow I was able to apply for an office job, then got promoted, then transferred...  Not the job I wanted back then (HR Position) but a Personal Assistant position.  Pero I am happy where I am, colleagues are great, my boss is amazing, the pay and benefits -- more than I ever thought I would get.

START somewhere, then make a plan, tapos make that plan happen.  Goodluck sa job hunting!

I'd agree with you on that sis. Sa ngayun kasi if you really want fast results(meaning kung tanggap ka or not) call center would be a good choice to apply. If you're not really looking for something specific at the moment why not try it. Hmm, sabi sa IBEX global daw natanggap na dun ng walang experience try mo.

I feel you ts
Ako naman kakagrad ko ng hs nastop na ako ikang years bago nakapag-college for some financial and family reason. Nung nakailan semester nako sa college ko (freshmen) stop nanaman, so bale more than four years ako natigil. While nasa bahay tinry ko maghanap ng work, no luck gusto nila atleast 2 years grad kahit sa call center. Kahit sa mga fast foods nun ganun din di ako natatanggap. Naghomebased muna ako like Odesk mga ganun. Last November kakagraduate ko lang ng HRM (at last),  sobrang hirap ako humanap ng work. Parati tinatanong ang tagal ko daw natigil ano ginawa ko bakit wala pang experiences?? May mga napupuntahan naman ako kaya lang sobrang ang liit ng sahod kulang pa sa pamasahe ko, tinry ko din na huwag ilimit sa natapos yung aapplyan pero may mga interviewer pa rin na ituturn down ka sasabihin "ang layo sa course mo!" magdoubt pa sila na hindi mo naman forte, hindi mo kayang gawin. Ang hirap na hindi pa naman nila nakikita yung potentials mo reject na agad kasi wala pa experience.. I'm working right now bale pang ilan na rin pero hindi ako nagtatagal, minsan nakikita ko hindi ako masaya, minsan nanghihinayang ako na nag-aral pa ako ng 4 years eh di naman related sa work ko? Kaya di ako nagtatagal halos 1 week lang ako parati sa mga pinapasukan ko. By this time magtitiis muna ako sa pinapasukan ko then magcall center ako para makaipon, nagbabalak ako magtesda para naman hindi na minamaliit laking factor din kasi kapag may tesda. Parati sinasabi sa akin na "only ojt??!" ano pa silbi ng ojt kung di tatanggapin mga fresh grads? Nakafrustrate talaga. Sana makahanap na tayo ng stable job.

^sis dun sa 4 years na tumigil ka, anong ginawa mo? Sana kumuha ka ng experience dun sa time na yun kahit minimal ang sweldo, kahit part time or intern lang. Mahalaga talaga may experience lalo na if around late 20's to early 30's (i dont know how old you are sis ha, inassume ko lang kasi sabi mo matagal ka tumigil) tapos wala paring experience. Syempre mas papaboran nila yung ibang applicants na may alam na. And kung puro 1 week lang tinatagal mo sa mga naapplyan mo, makakasira sayo yun. Bad record yun sa companies. Basta sis tyagain mo muna. Kahit pa maliit sweldo, kumuha ka lang muna ng experience. Makakatulong naman sayo yun later on eh. Tsaka wag kang mag job-hopping, pangit kasi magiging impression mo sa mga companies na inaapplyan mo. Good luck!

Yun nga parati tinatanong sa akin sis ano daw ginawa ko during those times. I tried naman na maghanap ng work,  no luck! so sa bahay muna homebased jobs like odesk and cloudcrowd. I took care of my lola din nuon so if ever magkawork man ako wala rin magbabantay sa kanya. Ang saklap, nawawala na ako ng pag asa sobra.
