Career Shift
« on: March 31, 2015, 11:28:43 pm »
Hello mga sis. Before I share my story I just want to ask you to bear with my post. This is kinda long hehe.

Ok.. So, I used to work in a BPO industry for almost 7 years. The last company where I worked was also a BPO pero we are doing payroll and I'm on Inbound. So, I have control with my time, call etc. I have another work and most of my clients were from that Company. Because hawak ko ang oras ko, nagagawa ko yung work ko sa isang Company kapag hindi pa ako busy. 1 Year and 6 months palang ako dun sa Payroll Company (BPO) pero gamay ko na yung work. The reason why I resigned is because of some of my co workers and because of the Senior Manager na masyadong obvious na may favoritism sa mga pino promote niya. hehe And one thing na nagpa resign sakin is because of the pay.

So, now I'm working on a new job. It's like a BPO din pero its more of an office set up and unlike BPO, hindi kami nag ca calls. And ako lang mag isa yung new hired. So, wala siya formal triaining unlike sa normal BPO.

It's kind of new to me kasi hindi ko alam pano makisama sa mga kasama ko sa work.

Also, parang nagugulat ako sa set up kasi office set up nga siya. Kapag oras ng work e parang galit galit lahat. Hindi nag uusap. I think this is really normal pero like what I said, bago ako sa industry na to so in my age, I find it weird sa nararamdaman ko.

Hay.. Is this normal po? Sa mga working dito sa office set up talaga, how do you manage the changes po? Btw, Im already 30 and I find it hard din na makihalobilo sa mga bata. Medyo may pagka seryoso din kasi ako and most of the time, na c culture shock ako sa mga taong maiingay. hehe

Thanks po. :) Sorry super haba.

Tip lang, don't bring the life that you used to live sa pagiging cc yuppie mo on your new one - start anew and you'll get used to it eventually.

Ganyan din ako when I decided to leave my 7+ years of BPO life for good - nakakamiss na nakakagulat but ultimately very liberating. Best decision I made in my entire life and I hope for you to as well.

^ Thanks sis. Im used to joining a new team by batch kasi.

Pero as long as maganda naman ang ugali e madali naman pakikisamahan yun. :) Thanks again sis. :)

well, just watch out for your back na lang din. Sa BPO's kasi people literally come and go, you meet new ones more frequently than the normal day job - kumbaga malayo pa lang ma-sense mo na agad kung ok o sablay ang ugali ng isang tao so alam mo na kung ano dapat mo gawin. Pero dyan sa kinalalagyan mo ngayon, malamang, it's just gonna be the same.

I'll agree on that. Super fast phased sa BPO even the people you just have to give it some time sis.
