Gusto ko lang buhayin ang thread na ito dahil relate ako hehe.. OFW kami ni hubby, ako 9 years, siya naman 14 years. When I got pregnant, naging turning point namin ni hubby whether to stay abroad or simulan na yung gusto namin business by hook or by crook. In the end, we decided to plunge in! Good thing wala kaming loan. Sa ngayon, mag two years na rin ang cafe namin and plano pa magtayo ng panibagong business pero inaaral pa. Tama ang tips ni sis aquacharly, create multiple streams of income. Right now, hubby is in UBER ako naman Financial Advisor sa PRU LIFE UK. Hindi madali mag business but very fulfilling. Sarap ng pakiramdam habang nasa bakasyon ka or while sleeping, kumikita ka pa rin :)

Following this thread for inspiration, I dream of having apartments for rental as a long term business habang nagwowork for extra income, I want to start of with at least 4 doors and sana upon retirement or pag mag for good na kami umabot ng 10 doors. I feel inspired reading all the posts here, lalo na those na nagmaterialize mga plans nila. I am grateful sa opportunity given to me na makapagtrabaho abroad and earn, pero I admit may times na na-mimiss ko Pinas and all my family and friends there and feel the need to come home lalo na in almost 4 yrs 1 decade na ko sa abroad.

hi sis, nice to know your story...may I ask how did you start your cafe business? TIA

isang dekada na mahigit kami dito ni hubby, gusto ko na umuwi ng pinas for good... 30% pa lang yung passive income(apartment rental) namin, sana soon madagdagan para makauwi na.

Hi Sisies, this is a good topic. My husband and I are also OFW. I have a plan to settle back home for good 5 years from now. I am considering to put up laundry business. Right now we have condo unit which we rented it out through airbnb and agoda so far its making a good money its really help us for the monthly amortization.
Thanks for this thread we can share our stories through this.

Hi sis sweet angel! ang asawa ko kasi experienced barista for more than 10 years kasi yun ang part time niya nung nasa ibang bansa pa kami then ako naman mahilig talaga magluto saka when i was flying pa, nasa first class ako so ang kasama ko talaga madalas Sky Chef namin so in a way na-expose ako lalo na kapag on ground at chef lagi kasama ko when eating out kaya malaking tulong sa aming mag-asawa when we were creating our cafe's menu. sa concept ng cafe, its a music cafe kasi DJ by profession asawa ko. kumbaga hindi kami lumayo sa passion namin. yung displays nga ng cafe, i can say 90% personal collection namin. nahirapan lang talaga kami nung una sa paghahanap ng suppliers pero nung tumatagal na nakikilala na kami, suppliers na mismo lalapit kaya makakapamili ka na ng competitive price ng items na kailangan mo. so we didn't go through any training, experience lang talaga.

I plan to become a citizen here in Canada but I also want to have an online business since it is easier to manage wherever I go. The wifi here also helps in my blogging. I'm learning Forex, saving, and investing. Gusto kong mag short-term trading sa Forex since I like to analyze things and earn at the same time.

Having a rental apartment would also be nice other than having an online business. So far, blogging is doing great although I do all the work which is fun, hard, and rewarding. Enjoy the journey as they say. ;D

Thanks sis sweet angel. Pag may business idea kayo sis ilista niyo lang ng ilista darating ang time mararamdaman mo rin yung tamang business para sa inyo. May iba naman kahit walang experience inaral talaga nila so pwede din naman ang ganun. May nabasa ako if you want to be an expert over something, read at least 3-5 books about it.  Goodluck sa ating lahat :)

Oh, I love reading success stories about pursuing passion and turning it into business. :) I have a friend (whom I met through coaching) who is a former OFW too and now an entrepreneur. I know she is also an advocate of helping OFWs transition from being OFW to business/freelancer/entrepreneur. Parang meron yata silang mga planned events... and she also did attend some conferences/workshops herself that helped her start up. :) She was based in Singapore pala, and now she's already happily in Manila.

Update ko lang for 2020

1. Nag grow ang rental properties ko  I have  the following now:
    - 3 units single detached house and lot
    - 3 units  up and down apartment
    -2 units  studio
-6  units 1 bedroom apartment (on going)
-1 lot  (I have really old houses doon na pinaparent but for construction na rin
this  year pag matapos ang 6 units
     - Loan here in abroad paid 50 percent
     - acquired new bank loan in Phil (for one rental property)
-acquired new loan from Pag-ibig (construction of the apartment)
-Stock Market grows very little last year
-uitf already pulled out natakot nung may gulo dito sa bansa (ibinili ko rin ng rental property)
- acquired 2 lots of memorial (payment completed)
- fully paid St. Peter for my self
-St. Peter for my spouse ( on going payment)

This year ang goal ay matapos ang construction ng 12 units apartment then mabayaran ang loans at makasave

[expenses namin galing lang sa salary ng isa sa amin ng husband ko then ang  salary ng isa ay for investment.
