putting up a "bigasan" business

oo ngA eh, we have been eyeing this business since last year, because of the recent ordeal my partner and i are going through, medyo na-postpone siya. pero we plan to pursue it this year na. sana makakuha ako ng maraming info/insight about this business.gusto ko kasi siya talaga.

oo nga.mahal na talaga rice ngayon.ganon lang ba kaliit ang tubo? kasi i really wanted to get into this business kasi ito ang pinaka-staple na food ng lahat ng tao, i mean, lahat ng tao kumakain ng kanin, so lahat bibili ng bigas. pero kahit ganon lang pala kaliit ang tubo, carry lang. san sa dagupan street yon? at may minimum na amount of sacks ba bago sila magbenta?

I used to have this business, located at a Seaside branch, but it did not last. Mga roughly 5 months lang. Napakaliit ng tubo per sack, lalo na pag per kilo. To earn a lot, dapat maging distributor ka, straight from the rice mill. Pag ganun ang tubo is P300-400/sack, yun lang ang minimum nila is anywhere from 100 to 1000 sacks so malaki ang magiging investment mo talaga. And witg diatributorship, dapat bulk din ang kuha sayo, you need customers na supermarkets/mini groceries, restos, canteens, hospitals. Yung talagang pag kumuha minimum of 10 sacks a week. Yan sana ang target ko with our store, kaya lang sadly kahit na nasa Seaside na kami, the restos there did not source their bigas from us. Pumupunta pa din sila sa mga mas malalaki pang distributors.

So, what do you mean by "have a financial freedom and live on you own terms..." ?  I dream to have my own restaurant someday, pero gusto ko unahin muna ang maging major supplies ko like RICE and MEAT.  So might as well, put up a Bigasan and Meat shop first, before opening a restaurant.   Pinapaikot lang ang pera.

I'm not saying it's wrong to start small...but "too small."

When you think of starting a business..begin with an end in   
mind.

Meaning, if you want a business say to give you P100,000 a   
month income then ask yourself..."Will this kind of business   
can really generate that much?"

The truth is, a lot of people start business to have a   
financial freedom.

So they can have better lives and improve their lifestyle.

If you'll start a business which is "too small" then you're   
short changing yourself.

Remember, you'll put a lot of time, money and effort in your   
business.

Might as well start a business that can give you money   
worry-free life.

i think thats why theres called a business plan?

you see, you can project all you want, but in reality its never guaranteed.
just because you invested a small capital doesnt mean you cannot reach your target or earn much.
imo lang naman, and for the essence of discussion, returns are REALLY not guaranteed, theres no sure formula. kase kung meron, even multi national companies hindi magsasara.
walang negosyo na hindi mo pinaglaanan ng panahon mo. lahat yan kahit eloading lang yan eh pinag aksayahan mo pa din yan ng panahon. lahat nilalagyan ng effort.

lahat naman ng pumapasok sa negosyo ay nag iisip kung gaano ba kalake kikitain nila. i doubt na may nagnegosyo para walang kitain.

kung sa tingin mo eh nalugi ka kase mas marami pa yung effort kesa returns, theres such a thing as quitting. theres no harm in quitting, especially if it will save yourself.

I think I still don't get your point sis. Like what business po kaya that can give you a money worry-free life?  Consultancy?

Even if someday, ill have bigasan store, i wont still give up my job.  but i probably would hire someone to manage the store.  If the business still doesn't equate my monthly income + benefits, then i must put up another business to create additional passive income.

hindi po ba dapat ganon yon?  nobody should give up their regular income job because of their "too small" passive income.  dapat laging may safety net.
