Pantoloc is very effective because it's a proton pump inhibitor, mahal nga lang.  Toridon naman is much cheaper than Motilium.  That was what the first doctor prescribed me plus Mucosta to protect the lining.  Very effective sila sa GERD, ako kasi pumunta na rin ako sa Makati Med. to have a second opinion kung may GERD nga ako.  I have no symptoms kasi of heartburn, burp lang ng burp and masakit tyan.  Sabi kasi ng dr. ko sa Makati Med. di muna nya gagawin ang endoscopy sa akin, so Omeprazole muna ako as needed, ang laki ng mura sa Veterans.  By the way, who is your dr. sa Makati Med.?  Thanks sa price info. sis

sis Sam325, sabi nga pala ng internist ko when I had my last check-up is kapag daw burp ng burp, nagha-heart burn na daw kapag ganon. dahil sa ppi, so hindi na nararamdaman ang heartburn, instead ibuburp mo nalang ang acid. iyon ang sabi niya. kase nung nasa 3rd week na ako ng pariet, sinabi ko sa kanya na hindi na ako nagha-heartburn pero burp pa rin ako ng burp, and that's what she said. hope it helps.

Dr. Olympia is also my friend's doctor sa Makati Med.  Magaling siya, may GERD din ang friend ko.  Ako si Dr. Galang.  Sis Rosey, ganun ba?  thanks sa info.  kasi kahit di ako nag-ppi, even before ako nagpatingin sa doctor last year, wala talaga akong maramdaman na heartburn.  Pero magpapa endoscopy na rin ako sometime this year para malaman ko na rin.  Kamusta ka na? Nag-meds ka pa rin?  Ako pag may sumpong lang, pag mild lang tinitiis ko na lang.  Mas sumasakit kasi tyan ko pag wala laman.

^i'm done na with my pariet, 1 month lang ako pinatake sis. buti nalang tapos na, 96 pesos din kasi isa, super expensive. 1 month akong walang coffee, softdrinks or milk , sumunod talaga ako sa dr. pero sobrang na-miss ko talaga ang coffee so the other day, hindi ko na talaga napigilan, haha i took one can of nescafe. wala naman akong nafeel na discomfort after the coffee. pero kagabi, while at work, sumumpong na naman siya, (one week out of ppi) hindi na talaga ako iinom ng coffee.haha. i don't have any meds with me. omeprazole ang meron sa clinic. hindi rin narelieve ng omeprazole. iba talaga kapag pariet, mabilis ang effect.

hindi sumasakit tiyan ko, minsan lang talaga.. ang sobrang uncomfortable saken is bitter taste na nakakasuka talaga, tsaka burping every now and then.

Pag GERD sis forever na yan unless pa-surgery mo.  Ako talaga, dyspepsia ang nararamdaman ko at hindi heartburn although hindi rin ako makahinga minsan.  Another symptom I have is sumasakit ang breastbone ko.  When I searched this sa internet, number one cause is GERD.  Magpapa-endoscopy pa rin ako or baka upper G.I. xray to check para sure din.  Sumasakit tyan ko pag makulit ako, meaning coffee, midnight snacks.  Minsan kasi can't help it.  Mag PPI ako plus Motilium until symptom ends.  Ingat na lang sis sa pagkain para di ma trigger GERD mo.

hindi talaga mawawala yan ng tuluyan unless you really stop drinking coffee, softdrinks, stop eating spicy foods, stop skipping meals, lying down flat after a meal, stop eating heavy meals, stop smoking and alcohol drinking. in short, it calls for a big lifestyle change. (i know it's easier said than done). plus of course good compliance to your drug treatment - proton pump inhibitors, motilium. personally, i don't prescribe those antacids (like maalox) to my patients because they're not the first-line treatment for GERD. if everything else fails, a visit to a gastroenterologist for a possible VEGD must be done.

^ nope. ibang specialty ko. VEGD means video esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy.

ako matagal ko na sakit yung gastritis then nagsubside, pero lagi sumasakit tyan ko ng matindi pag nalilipasan ng gutom, then recently sumakit ng matindi dahil sa pagsusuka nung sumakit ulo ko.

I just had my endoscopy last wednesday sa finding i have Gerd and gastritis, babalik pa ko sa doctor next wednesdey for the result of the biopsy and i-pa explain ko na rin, I was sedated kasi pag gising ko [textspeak!] na mga doctor nurse ang andun.

Do you have problems with flatulence ( as in sobrang grabe, utot ng utot) or burping na maasim?
I'm not sure if this is GERD but are these also the symptoms of GERD? Actually, pag na se stress ako, the underside of my left breast is painful.

sis yang sumasakit sayo, heartburn yan most likely. pareho tayo stress din nagttriger saken ng gerd.

madalas din pakiramdam ko hindi ako natutunawan, laging bloated, kaya iwas talaga ako kumain ng madami.

Ang alam ko heartburn din yan, I use to experienced that before as in in a regular basis that was the time na super acidic ako.

Thanks for sharing your experiences Rosey. For a while there, I thought I was having a heart attack! It happened while I was working but I was just sitting down in my desk! I was ready to call a cardio.
So you mean to say, this will be forever and not go away? And I have to go to a gastro nlang to make sure no?

^ay pareho tayo sis. kase the last time na nagkaron ako ng symptoms ng gerd, may shortness of breath na, akala ko something is wrong with my heart, i went on series of laboratories/tests. lahat naman normal. and it turned out na lahat ng nararamdaman ko is because of GERD. based sa mga nababasa ko online regarding experiences ng mga may gerd, it's life long na. pero may mga maintenance meds naman to avoid the symptoms. you may want to have it check na with your gastro or internist so you'd know if you need to take ppi rin. mas maaga mo malalaman, mas maganda, so you can watch your lifestyle din. foods and stress kase usually nagttrigger ng symptoms ng gerd.

as much as possible, have your meals in time. or have small frequent feedings.

good thing may thread about this  ... i was diagnosed with GERD din Jan 2008.  at first kase natakot ako kase di familiar sa akin yung GERD. yung symptoms ko includes heartburn, and feeling ko the food is forever stuck in my throat, di bumababa.  there was the urge to to burp pero i cant.  initially the doctor advised me to undergo blood tests (TSH, T3 & T4) and normal naman yung results.  just the same she told me to take nexium.... grabe ang mahal!after a week di pa rin nawala so i decided to see a gastro (Dr. Caburnay).  nag undergo ako ng endoscopy and was prescribed Omeprazole. i took it for two months along with motillium. nag change din ako ng diet, i avoided oily, spicy food, lahat ng kinakain ko naka steam or boiled lang. no chocolates, coffee, tea and softdrinks.  after two months nawala sya and pumayat ako, hehe!

its true talaga na bumalik balik, the gastro advised me na when i feel na bumalik yung symptoms, ill just take the omeprazole for a week.  so far ok naman, talaga lang iwas ako sa chocolates and coffee kase in my case ito yung nag tri trigger ng GERD ko.
