Hello Atty. Eva Romero-Abella,

Im a new member of girltalk of and im proud to say and very thankful
that im learning a lot from reading on this site.
Anyway, i would like to consult also on my concern about SSS maternity benefits.
Im 31 yrs of age and currently on the 6th month of my pregnancy on my first baby. Im not married so I will be a single mom.I had worked from 8yrs(but not with the same company-several companies from the 8yr time). I had a continous SSS contribution and even had an approved loanyrs back from SSS. I just resigned from my work 2months ago due to a vacation to another country.
I resigned on February of 2009 from my job and currently on vacationand I will be back on May 2009
to give birth in Manila. I was not able to inform my previous company that i was pregnant at that time.My question will be: Will i still be able to get Maternity Benefits from SSS even if i did not inform my previous company that i was pregnant? And will it matter if i did not have any contribution from the time i resigned from my work?If so, how and what will be the requirements for me to submit to get this benefits from SSS?
Please help me with this concern because it will be a great help for me in terms of financial. Thank you so much and more power to you.
God bless!

I am a newbie here.  What legal rights do we have, if some members of this network are trying to destroy our reputation, they are posting my husband's full name.  We are personnally reaching out to them to talk about things but they refuse.  They dont want to clear or correct things they just want to destroy people.  We dont [textspeak!] to make this thread a "word battle" so we chose not to answer all their accusations, we just post the cell phone number to open the line of discussion but they keep on posting wrong accusations.  Please do help us.

To: Atty. Eva Romero-Abella

I have some concerns regarding my rent. You see, I haven't been paying my rent on time, but I manage to pay within the month, just not on the exact date agreed. I have already told my landlord the reason for this yet he still gave warning that he will give me an eviction notice once I don't pay on the exact date next month. I told him about RA 9653 and reminded him that I did pay 2 months deposit. He sent me another note (which had a condescending tone) and told me that my 1 year contract is almost up and that he can easily give me an eviction notice. Now I'm a bit confused since I have been renting for more than 1 year already (1 year and 2 months, to be exact) and he is still accepting rent payments from me. Does this mean that the contract is automatically renewed? He also has not given me the original contract. What can I do to stay in the premise until such time I find another apartment?

Thank you.

Good Day!

I am an IT Instructor sa isang private school, and my brother is currently enrolled po sa school na un. Due date ko po this coming Nov. 15 and the school accountant said last week na kailangan ko daw po ma settle ang balance ng kapatid ko sa tuition fee (amounting to 4 thousand) before ako mag maternity leave or else daw po ay i hold nila ang SSS Maternity Benefit ko..

Ask ko lang po.. Is it legal na i-hold ng company ang SSS Maternity Benefit ko? Benefit ko naman po yun as a member of SSS diba? And may verbal arrangement na po kami before na mag sa salary deduction ako for that balance of my brother.

First baby ko po kasi ito, and I am afraid na baka wala akong makuhang benefit dahil lang doon.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you po and more power! :)

Attn:  - Atty. Tetta H. Dizon (Marriage Law), Atty. Eva Romero-Abella

Ako po ay 30 years old,  illegitimate child. Kung meron pong last will and testament at hindi ako pinamanahan, maaari po ba akong maghabol?

Maraming salamat.

Hi  Atty. Eva Romero-Abella,

I just need advice on what to do. Medyo nakakainis na kasi yung Molaer. They called me up last week and offer me a promo sa HSBC credit card ko and sabi 20k lang daw at fully paid na ako, syempre ako gusto ko naman din talaga bayaran para nga wala na ako iintindihin, so sabi ko sige tingnan ko pero never promise them anything sabi ko sige tingnan ko try ko they gave me until may 28 last tuesday, but unfortunately wala talaga ako nakuhanan. Nung araw na yun tue hanggang ngayon wala silang ginawa kundi tawagan ako oras oras walang mintis as in oras oras.

Please can anyone help me on this I need an advice ASAP, gusto ko lang na matigil yung pangungulit nila over the phone

Thank you

gummy bear

Hi! Hope you could take time to read and give me advise. We signed a house construction contract then nagkaproblema po sa loan so hindi yun natuloy. Ang napagkasunduan namin ng contractor is to build a commercial space instead with lower value compared doon sa 1st contract. Now, tapos na po yung commercial space and fully-paid na rin namin ang contractor based dun sa 2nd agreement. Now, the contractor is threatening me na kapag pinagawa ko sa iba yung 2nd floor, maghahabol siya kasi may contract daw kami na pinirmahan. For me, wala na sya karapatan kung ipagawa man namin sa iba yung 2nd floor someday di ba?

I have a legal question po, and hopefully someone can answer. I cannot start a new topic, so nagbaka-sakali na merong makapansin ng question ko.

I bought a residential lot from a developer in Laguna through bank financing. Loan take-out already took place last year, and developer already emailed me that turnover of property is ready na. I just need to sign the Certificate of Acceptance.

My questions are: 1) What documents should I have on-hand right now? Kasi ang meron lang ako is email copy of my loan agreement with the bank
2) Original copies ba ang kelangan on-hand ko, or soft copies are okay?

Thanks so much sa sasagot
