Mga sis, anyone into this diet?  Well, not diet per se, pero lifestyle na din daw if you decide to go keto.  I am planning to start this on Monday.  It is primarily a low-carb, moderate protein and high fat diet.  Nakita ko sa Paleo thread there were a couple of girls who mentioned this, so I decided to start a separate thread for those who are doing it already or interested in learning more about it.

Meron syang 3-day meal plan to get your body in the ketosis state, to jumpstart it.  Then meron din weekly meal plans after that.  Ketosis is defined by WebMD as:

"Ketosis" is a word you'll probably see when you're looking for information on diabetes or weight loss. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? That depends.

Ketosis is a normal metabolic process, something your body does to keep working. When it doesn't have enough carbohydrates from food for your cells to burn for energy, it burns fat instead. As part of this process, it makes ketones."


I'm ready to ditch the carbs and sugar.  I feel so sluggish na din kasi most of the day after eating so much of it.  I feel I have to take control and maybe this is the eating lifestyle that I can explore to be able to kick the habit.  Diabetes runs in our family, too, so I know I have to start taking better care of myself habang bata bata pa.

My husband lost 60lbs on Keto diet and with no work out. He was on internship for 10 months in another city which made him eat carbs. Right now, trying to get him back to this awesome diet. I hope it works for you too, let me know your progress  :)

I love keto diet! This is the only diet that I don't feel too deprived. Kasi the food you eat still has flavor because of the fats. And it's really effective too. You'd notice the difference in 3 days. Mahirap lang sa simula. You'll feel sluggish, tired and sleepy all the time but once you hit ketosis, it will be a breeze.

I don't practice it though as a lifestyle. I have a sweet tooth so once I hit my weight goal, bumabalik na ko sa carbs. Good luck on your keto journey! :)

Yes sis I prepared the his meals, but I am not on keto diet haha I love my carbs though I think I need to join him.

these are the staple items I needed to prepare his meals

Cheese
bacon, meat
broccoli
berries
almond flour
physllium powder
eggs
milk
stevia powder
green veggies

I like this diet kasi it is the fastest way to lose weight for me. Although lagi akong may 1 day cheat day every week.

Eto yung madalas kong kainin:
-eggs for bfast
-chia seed pudding with stevia to satisfy sweet cravings ( use coco milk, then you can add different flavors like vanilla extract, even cacao powder to vary the flavor)
-steak  (sarap!  nadiscover ko tuloy best steak prep: sear in high heat, cook sa oven in low heat mga 150 degC.  Use butter with thyme and rosemary to make your steakĀ“s flavors pop)
-smoked salmon (ang mura kasi dito) + cream cheese
-oven broiled pork liempo (yung bacon cut) then eat it korean style by wrapping it in lettuce
-meatballs then vary the sauce ----sweet and sour (using cider vinegar and plum sauce) or in chicken broth with veggies
-pag nagcracrave ng noodles or pasta, use shirataki noodles (konjac plant based noodles).  halos zero calories itong mga ito
-for fiber, take psyllium fibre, or you can make flaxseed puddings similar to the way you make chia seed puddings
-make mock rice and mashed potatoes using cauliflower. mas nasasarapa pa ako sa mashed cauliflower kesa mashed potatoes
-for peanut butter alternatives, buy sugar-free nut or sunflower butters (I personally like sunflower butters kesa almond butter=

Hindi ko pa natry magbake using nut flours, pero isa yan sa mga goals ko :-)

Thanks for sharing! Did you watch your calories strictly while on keto?

Hindi pa ako 100% compliant with this. Mga 4x a week pa lang, going on 2 weeks so far, pero I've lost 7 lbs na. Wala pa din exercise yun kasi tom pa lang ako babalik sa workout. Medyo mabusisi nga lang for me kasi iba ang food ko from the rest of the family and ayaw ko ng iasa sa helper namin na pati food ko sya mag-prep and luto. The worst yung 1st week kasi walang carbs and sugar so para akong zombie... Pero thank God buhay pa naman ako LOL. Ang napansin ko nawala yung sluggishness after eating rice, lalo sa tanghali. Balak ko din eventually to have Sundays off para naman di KJ pag kakain sa labas. 

I will buy steak tom and try your style. Yum!

^^sis, hindi ako nagcacalorie count pero naglolose pa rin ng kgs.  For me okay itong lifestyle na ito kasi may intolerance ako sa rice (sadness!) at sugar. As in nagmimigraine ako ng buong araw at inaatake ng sinusitis kapag kumain ng sweets and rice.  Etong Keto diet ang nakakatulong sa akin sa food intolerance-related headaches.

For snacks pala, eto mga pineprepare ko:
cucumber slices
cherry tomatoes
nuts (pero wag madami masyado)
cheese cubes ( mga 1-2 cubes lang per day)
pitted olives with pimiento

Hi sis!  Naku sad to say eh hindi ko na-sustain ang diet na eto  :(  Ang hirap maging 100% compliant kasi lately wala akong time to prepare my meals, so ang ending eh kung anong niluto ng helper namin yun na din kinakain ko.  Tinuloy ko na lang yung cut out sugar and carbs muna.  Pero yung ulam mismo hindi all the time keto.

great to chance upon this thread. my husband and I have been on this diet (with cheating at times) for some time now. We used this to lose weight for our wedding and eventually it turned into a lifestyle. It is highly sustainable in my opinion.

what I do is prepare one week's worth of food for baon so less chance to cheat. Also tried ordering once sa Ketogenics PH.

parang medyo scared ako sa "keto flu". Rice and carbs make me bloat talaga. I'm in the process of fixing my diet
less carbs na and i just do 1 cup or rice a day. (half cup breakfast and half-cup lunch)

Soon, i will totally get rid of rice since di naman ako masyadong matinapay. Oh and i will miss pasta. :(
Yung nagkeketo diet do you also regularly exercise? If yes, anong klase ng exercise?

Yung workmate ko sabi nya nag keto diet daw sya. Di sya nag rice pero puro fats na ulam ang kinakain nya saka umiinom pa din sya ng alak. Ang laki ng pinayat nya.

My friend and her husband started Keto diet last year, ang laki ng pinayat nila. Na-inspire tuloy akong gawin. Basta no carbs daw ginawa nila. For them, naging lifestyle na sya. Nung nakuha na nila ang target weight nila, nagccarb na sila once in a while.

Nagstart na ako last week, no rice at bread. Puro ulam lang ginagawa ko. Cut down din ako sa sugars. Hopefully mabawasan ang timbang ko.

^Sabayan kita sis.  Actually I tried ketogenicdietph meal delivery for a week kaso ang mahal, P2,400 for 5 days.  Triny ko lang to see pano ang portioning nila, plus the taste.  I think kaya ko naman gawin on my own and makakatipid pa.  So I tried a recipe from one of the keto blogs and ang sarap haha.  Casserole sya binake ko in a big dish, then pinortion ko for 5 days.  Steamed veggies on the side ang pinaka-"rice" ko.  Hindi ko pa nagagawa ulit and dati tinigilan ko kasi ayoko iasa sa ate namin sa bahay yung prep, plus tamad din ako to do it.  Pero ngayon mukhang kelangan nga talagang ako ang gumawa.

Nag-lose na ba sa 1 week mo so far?

UP for this thread for my fellow Keto sissies!

I am happy to read na may ganitong nasimulan na thread dito sa forum. I started keto diet to counter my PCOS naturally. Since meron akong glucose intolerance like our other sis here, na may rice intolerance naman. Too bad that all my favorites were bawal.

I was able to sustain the lifestyle for 5 months. lost 18kilos and got my regular period back without taking any hormonal pill. Every kilo inspires me to lose more. Yun nga lang.. mas malakas akong kumain pag summer kesa Christmas. Masarap kumain sa isla eh hehe. So I cheated and cheated, gained 5 kilos already so medyo naaalarm na ako. Gotta bring my body back to ketosis in time for my preparations for the wedding, and of course to keep myself healthy.

I did Keto for 4 months.  It's the best diet!  I'm not on Keto anymore because i miss eating fruits.  But i don't eat anymore rice, bread and pasta.  Because of Keto i have weened myself of sugar & carbs.  I have a healthy diet now, more of vegetables, fruits & seafood.  I have also stopped drinking soda & juice.

Thank you for sharing your experience, sis vanity fair! I agree that its the best and most healthy diet that works. Buti ka pa you were able to stop drinking soda.. waaaah that I cannot stop yet. I drink my dose of coke once a week as a reward. :)

I am on my week two of keto diet. Need to do this kasi for my upcoming wedding.  BTW mga sisses,  I discovered a super okay na rice replacement: cauliflower!   I-food processor or blender lang until yung itsura parang rice na,  then i-cook with a little amount of olive oil and any seasoning/spice you want ( I use cilantro and some garlic powder).  Mas little smell pa rin sya ng cauliflower and syempre if kainin sya as is may konting cauli flavor pa rin, pero pag sinabay sa ulam, since malasa yung ulam, pwede na!  Natuwa ako sa kanya, kasi at least di ako feeling deprived na di makakain ng ulam at kanin, tapos healthy pa sya kasi cauliflower.

Hi Sisses, I'll start on keto diet today. Tuesday and Wednesday, I started weaning on rice, bread, soda and sweets na para di ako mabigla masyado sa 3 day kick start. Im excited kasi I've tried Atkin's before and I lost 20kg. So excited to lose weight kasi I've gained a lot due to PCOS. I'll update you on my progress. As of the moment, 105kg ako, so andami ko talaga dapat I-lose. :(

To Add: I feel better ngayon while I'm weaning off since I quit so much carbs. Di na ko sluggish at nagclear ang skin ko.

Sa Monday pa ako start ng official keto kasi nagkasakit this Monday lang and still recovering.  But I started na din by removing carbs and sweets at home.  I told my hubby kung sakaling mag-crave sya ng pasta and sweets, bumili na lang sya sa labas ng good for one lang para di ako ma-tempt. 

@letters_to_cleo - I'll try your recipe for cauli rice.  Gumawa din ako nyan dati kaso di ko nabantayan and medyo nasunog yung cauli haha.  Kinain ko pa din kasi sayang pero lasang-lasa ko yung pagka-burnt nya  ;D

Curious though how you handle adhering to keto while dining out?

Alam mo sis, yan din ang isa sa mga ni-loo-look forward ko on this diet.  Gusto ko na maalis yung sluggish feeling lalo after lunchtime no?  And yung sa skin!  I read somewhere that if you eat too much sugar, your skin tends to have a gray tinge to it... na napansin ko din sa mukha ko kainis.  Parang nawala yung glow.

^ D ko pa naman naexperience yung gray tinge sa skin sis, or di ko lang pansin. :) Pero ako kasi pag sobrang dami kong nakakain na carbs and refined sugars, nagbbreak-out ako. Nagkakaroon ako ng pimples hindi lang sa face, kundi pati sa neck and back ko din. Pero since naeliminate ko na rice and refined sugars, nawala na yung pimples ko. Tsaka energetic na din ako sa work ngayon.  ;D Dati kasi parang buong araw akong inaantok. If I may add pala, I'm 1 year post partum at pansin ko mas mahirap ako maglose weight ngayon kesa nung di pa ako nabubuntis. Kaya excited ako sa Keto.

I tried this before pero when I went on a holiday I started to eat carbs again. I'm trying to eat low carb again. To satisfy my sweet tooth I made low carb desserts, trial and error, sometimes I tweak the recipe to satisfy my taste. There are low carb/keto recipes  posted online. My favourites are mug cake, pound cake. I still couldn't find a good recipe for bread that I like.
For breakfast, I eat bacon and eggs...salmon/meat and greens, so basically meat and salad lang naman but have to watch out the protein cause too much of it can be converted to carbs too.
I also temper dark chocolates para swak sa panlasa ko.

First day on Keto. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast. :) Then I have almonds for snacks, tuna in olive oil and more bacon as baon for work. Tomorrow I'll shop for chicken and pork para maiba naman. Where do you get your salmon sis?

Excited na ako mag-grocery for keto this weekend.  Me sis, I buy salmon from Shopwise or Rustan's (same group lang naman may-ari).  Yung Cold Storage na brand ok and reasonable naman ang price. Same tayo, I have a jar of unsalted healthy nuts here at work for snacks.  Iba-iba ba ang meals mo?  Parang di ko kasi kakayanin to prepare different meals daily so baka gawin ko na lang ulit is prepare 2 main dishes Sunday night, then portion these out for the week.  Bale yun na ang magiging main meal ko daily, i-alternate ko.  Breakfast na lang ang iiba-ibahin ko since onti lang ako kumain ng agahan.

Yes sis I have nuts na stash sa office. When I was on Atkin's sis, di din iba iba ang meals ko. I have my staple na tuna and eggs and bacon. Siguro 3 times in a week yan ang baon ko. Tapos the rest na 4 days in the week, yun na yung iniiba iba ko na yung baon ko. Like Adobo, Chicken Fajita without the peppers, chicken salad with iceberg lettuce. Yan yung mga favorite kong ulam. Ang hirap kasi magisip ng uulamin no sis? Haha. I also do chili con carne, chicken parmigiana, meatballs. Yan yung mga lagi ko niluluto. :) Mag ggrocery ako later ng tuna, eggs, olive oil and lettuce. Excited ako lagi mag grocery. Haha. I just ended my first day on Keto, GY shift kasi ako eh. And so far, im feeling great, not hungry at all. :)

I was searching the net for experiences/ reviews on the keto diet.
I got curious kasi when I came across it online.  Like one of the commenters here, I'm also a bit apprehensive about the "keto flu". Is it bearable naman? I'm just worried that it would affect my concentration sa work.

Hi everyone, I just started the ketogenic diet around 3 weeks ago. Surprisingly, no keto flu (yet???).

Pero I followed yung mga nabasa ko na kelangan magreplenish ng electrolytes. I add pink salt (Real Salt I bought from Healthy Options) in my water. Mga half a teaspoon/ liter.

I will try this keto diet. Hopefully makayanan ko sya. How do you make your cauliflower rice? I made them before pero savory sya, mala stir fry with chicken. Ang hirap kasi kung walang alternative to rice kung puro ulam ang keto recipes  :( i will try to find keto "bread" recipes rin.

I started keto diet last March, at 58 kg.  Actually it's a combination of keto and IF diet. Usually nagfafast ako 14-18 hours. Grabe kasi breakouts, fatigue, gi and joint probs and migraine ko pag nasosobrahan ako sa carbs at sugar. I had that gluten and sugar face. May certain spot lang kung saan lumalabas pimples ko. Lol si ayun.. No refined sugar, no carbs, no soda. No exercise din kasi super tamad ko mag exercise. I never felt deprived din kasi meat lover and I love bacon and avocado. Haha Go fats! Lol After 3 months, I reached my goal na 48 kg. Nag clear up na din skin ko and no more migraines, joint pain, and fatigue. Nung mareach ko ang goal ko na weight.. That's when I started eating rice na ulit on cheat days. Kapag naman nasanay ka wala ng masyadong cravings and hunger pangs. Parang lifestyle na sya. Di mo na din masyadong hahanapin. After 5 months mini maintain ko na lang weight ko at 47 kg. :) So yes, for me, effective sya for those who want to lose weight, for those na may tendency na tumaas ang sugar at may food intolerances like me :)

hello po, I just started IF and ketogenic diet, more greens, no sugar, less carbs and more protein and fat.

Is it ok to use any brand of butter?
Is it ok to eat whole wheat bread?

^ for the butter, preferably grass-fed, I was able to buy one at Echo store for 250. That's pricey for me just for a butter.  I use Anchor and it is the only butter I know that is grass fed available in supermarkets.

You cant eat any kind of bread while in keto except for keto breads - almond or coconut flour is used in these breads.  You can make your own. I saw recipes online that you can even make in a mug and microwave :)

thanks for the reply, I can't seem to find kerrygold here in doha but anchor is available. about bread I don't have time para gumawa ng bread, maybe its time to forget nalang kahit whole wheat pa sya.

How about hotdog kaya especially yung purefoods franks, is it okay to include in the diet?

tried IF but sadly it didnt work for me, I have gastritis and medyo maasim un tummy ko even if I keep myslef hydrated with water always so i stop na.

Is this OK ba to people with gastritis and gall stones considering that it is high in fat na diet? thanks :)

sis aviot hindi ako doctor nakabase lang ako sa internet information siguto dapat pagalingin mo muna ang gall stones mo at gastrisis. I have a friend na peras ang nakagaling ng acid reflux nia. sa gall stones mo naman parang hindi pwede ang high protein sa iyu kasi more on meat sya, pero ang fasting makakainam yun sa gall mo kasi napapahinga sya sa pagprocess ng food, pero conflict nga kasi may pangangasim ka may stones pa, baka di pwede sa iyu ang ketogenic diet kasi kahit fruits na matamis dapat iwasan,

How about hotdog kaya especially yung purefoods franks, is it okay to include in the diet?

I think I am already entering keto flu, i feel dizziness, cravings for junk foods, irritation, mood swing and nahihirapan na akong makatulog agad, pero yung sore throat di ko yan na-experience, kailangan malagpasan natin ito and after daw nito we are good na. I have a friend na di ko nakita in 2 months mas chubby chubby sya sa akin ang laki ng iginanda ng katawan nya as a whole after this diet.

I've read na makakatulong sa iyu kung uminom ka ng chicken broth or maalat na liquid.

Hi mga SiS,

Im on my 3rd day sa diet na to. So far may slight dizziness lang ako and masakit ang ulo pero kaya

pa naman and nabawasan nadin ako ng 2lbs.  Pinaka cheat ko lang eh nag coffee padin ako yung

coffee ko is yung KOPIKO LA. Di ko kasi talga sya maalis eh.

Gumagawa lang ako ng salad ko with Kewpie roasted sesame dressing tapos yung mga ulam chicken, pork, tuna, eggs, ham and bacon. Naeenjoy ko naman yung diet ko so far. :)

I want to try this kind of diet. I've been watching youtube videos and been reading articles about it. DM runs in the family and I have PCOS pa so I guess I really need to try this out. I think I will try muna egg-fasting for 5 days. so puro eggs, cheese and water lang for 5 days and let's see what will happen.

I think you're not eating enough. Egg for breakfast for example is not enough.  Every meal should have fat, protein, and carbs.  Also, oatmeal  is not keto.

Oh... di pala sya kasama sa keto. hmmm, interested ako sa keto na to. kasi pwede kumain ng meat. :D  Ano ba usual nyong food mga sis. and gano kadaming serving usually?  I lost 3 kilos for 5 days na 2 eggs at oatmeal lang kinakain ko with nuts in between. Kaya lang nung weekend napakain ako ng sweets dahil sa birthday na napuntahan ko. I started doing it again on Monday pero parang wala na nababawas... Tapos kanina pa paggising ko parang nanghihina ako na di ko maintindihan. I ate 5 chocolate chip cookies!!! kaloka!

I've been doing this loosely for the past 3 months and lost 20 lbs.  On and off kasi hindi kaya ng powers ko mag-prep for recipes na purely keto.  Yung tipong gagawa ka pa ng homemade mayo etc.  Kulang ang time ko and minsan napapamahal din sa grocery.  But I follow the core principle which is high fat, moderate protein and low carb-sugar

I would argue though that if you can keep your carb consumption below 20 grams a day, na kasama na sa 20 grams yung oatmeal, keri pa din.  Di ko nga lang alam kung anong serving size ng oatmeal ang makakain mo to keep it below 20 grams  ;D  Pero hindi kelangan totally eliminate ang carbs and sugar.  Kelangan lang i-restrict.   

Also, kelangan mangibabaw ang fat sa tatlong macros.  Pag dinamihan mo masyado ang protein, yun pa din ang unang go-to ng katawan natin for fuel, so hindi ma-bu-burn ang excess fat.  What you want to happen is for your body to utilize your fat as fuel. 

zee87 - My staples are salmon, tuna, eggs, bacon, pesto, feta cheese and packed leafy green veggies.  Hindi na ko masyadong nag-broccoli and cauli kasi kelangan pang i-steam.  Gusto ko yung gulay na ready to eat na.  May days na kumakain din ako ng Spam.  Yes, spam!  Kasi low carb and sugar pag chineck mo ang nutrition nito.  I suggest basahin nyo ang labels ng mga store-bought items.  I have a go-to salad dressing, Newman's Own Caesar vinaigrette.  Akala ko nung una hindi pwede, pero when I checked the label eh pasok pala ang macros.  Serving size ko usually is the palm of my hand.  And with keto kasi, totoo na you feel fuller longer because of the high fat content.

Sinabay ko din pala ang Intermittent Fasting dito.  I do 18/6.  I have coffee at work and lots of water (I try to hit a gallon a day), a handful of nuts pag nagutom within working hours, then pag-uwi saka ako kakain ng meal ko for the day.  Yung ibang kaibigan ko sinasabi bad daw for me na hindi kumain sa trabaho, pero this is what works for me eh.  Never ako nahilo.  Lalo pa nga akong naging focused and alert while at work and hindi na ako nagkakaron ng after-lunch slump. 

I also tried ordering from KetogenicPH, yung meal delivery service.  Aside from medyo pricey for me, nadadamihan ako sa servings nila (kaya siguro mahal).  Hindi ko kelangan kumain ng ganun kadami daily.  I've read in some forums na may mga taong hindi nag-lo-lose on keto kasi ang lakas pa din nila kumain.  Malaking factor talga ang portion control sa pagpapapayat.

^Sis, macros are fat, protein and carbs :)  Basically what you need to function, yun lang yun hehe.  Ang ginawa ko nung una was follow recipes from keto blogs.  Then eventually natuto na din ako maglaro-laro ng macros.  Try mo ang www.dietdoctor.com for yummy recipes.

Sample meal plan ko :

B:  Black coffee with stevia and a bit of cream
L:  A handful of unsalted nuts
D: Salmon/chicken (baked in olive oil, onting butter on top, squeeze of lemon, garlic, salt and pepper pag ready to eat na), leafy greens.  Dito ko din ginagamit pesto.  Put a little on top of the protein.

Yes, sis, I work out at home.  HIIT videos na tig-30 minutes.  Akala ko dati kelangan kong pakamatay kaka-work out to lose weight.  Mas importante pala talaga that you fix your food intake/diet more than anything else.

Nagkasakit ako, and yung mga lab test ko one of them is mataas ang ketone bodies which mean nagwork na nga yung diet sa akin kahit na hindi ko na masyado sinusunod ang reco macros as long as low carb/sugar, high protein with olive oil and butter.

Right now nagdidiarhea pa din ako at uhaw na uhaw di ko alam bakit ako nagdiarea ako, sa smoothies kaya na compose of spinach, avocado, and stevia? Naka - IF din pala ako 8 pm till 11 am.

Hindi din ako super strict sa high fat-moderate protein ratio ng keto.  Kaya ko nasabi sa taas that I follow it loosely kasi ang effort laging isipin kung mas mataas ba ang percentage ng fat compared sa protein sa kakainin ko.  I think ang pinaka-sustainable strategy sa keto is to restrict sugar and carbs.  I feel na yun din ang major factor sa weight loss ko kasi ang lakas ko sa pasta dati, as in.  Yung isang order ng Chicken Alfredo ng Yellow Cab kaya kong ubusin pag nag-binge ako  ;D

So, after months of researching about this diet, I decided to finally give it a try. After only 3 days, I was able to lose 2 kgs, which is great! I was really apprehensive about the Keto Flu and I think I have it now kasi I feel tired and a bit dizzy, pero manageable naman.
My staples are eggs, beef, lettuce, cucumber, cheese, mayo, mustard, sunflower nuts, coffee, cream, stevia, tea and lots of water.
I hope I'll be able to sustain this and achieve my ideal weight since I still need to lose 10 kgs more!

I'm on-off keto for 2 months now.  I tend to binge eat on weekends kase no one supports me on this diet and thinks that I'm crazy.  Hubby cooks my fave food pa- inihaw na liempo, fried garlic rice, pasta etc.   So I guess I was never keto adapated.  Mahirap if you don't have support system in the house.
I feel isolated kapag nasa table coz everyone is eating the same food.  They feel napipilitan lang ako and not happy with my food so they start teasing and I'll give in.   This is not an excuse but it would have been better if you get support from your family diba?

Sis, I feel you pero pero sa mga friends ko naman nafefeel yung ganyang isolation. Supportive naman yung family ko sakin. Pero what changed my friends attitude towards my diet is when they see the results, eventually na-accept din nila yung diet ko at di na nila ako tinutukso. Naiinggit pa nga sila sa progress ko eh.  Kaya payo ko sayo, don?t give in and don?t give up. Pag nakita nila na nag iimprove ka na, hindi ka na nila aasarin. 

I tried HCG, not eating fats etc pero feel na feel kong nagdidiet ako. I am doing Keto for 6 days palang but on intermittent fasting for one month na. I'll say na mas magaang yung pakiramdam at parang mas active ako, not feeling puyat at pagod palagi

My routine is not eating from 9PM to 2PM, bulletproof coffee lang at water then keto diet from 2PM to 9PM. Medyo hassle free din coz you dont necessarily have to cook ng separate for family, like last night we had sisig, then sinigang na baboy the other day. If tamad ka eggs, bacon & mushroom.

Editing my post sis kasi I researched and tried na the Bulletproof coffee.
-Mas okay Brewed Coffee para fresh, if you dont have a coffee maker, try a french press.
-Wag anchor butter gamitin mo, do masarap parang mantika lang. Haha. Walang butter flavor whatsoever. Try President Butter. Masarap sya.
-I prefer na blended sya as opposed to mixed or shaken lang. Pag blended kasi parang nagemulsify na yung mixture. As in halong halo sya. Pag mixed or Shaken, mas malalasahan mo yung grease ng oil at butter. Medyo kadiri. Haha.
-I still dont know where to buy Brain Octane Oil. I used VCO lang in making my Bulletproof cofee.

Start by researching. Watching Dr. Berg and Thomas Delauer is really helpful.
Pang mayaman ba sya? Sa simula, magastos in my opinion, pero once you are keto adapted, you might end up eating less, less food, less gastos :)

Pareho tayo ng pinagdaanan sis. I did lose a lot of weight sa HCG but feel kong manapak on regular days hahahah kc I feel so deprived until I switch to keto. With keto, di ko feel na I'm on diet since I get to eat liempo, bacon and pork belly  ;D and still manage to lose weight. If you ask me, di naman sya magastos you just hafto be creative din sa meals mo.

My regular weight before was 125 lbs and I stand 5'4 tapos nag gained ako ng 4 lbs hanggang umabot na ng 9 lbs.

 Nagstart akong mag Keto this January lang at so far I lost 5 lbs na kaya ang saya saya ko  ;D

Dati akala ko hindi ako mabubuhay kung walang rice pero nakayanan ko talaga. Sana tuloy-tuloy na ito.

I'm on Keto since Oct last year and have lost around 7kg, lazy keto lang talaga. Was just happy with the progress given na I've been struggling with weight loss for 2 yrs now and I also have PCOS.

Been baking my own Keto Loaf as well - it's pretty easy to make, considering I was a first time baker. :)

My boyfie naman has fatty liver, told him about Keto's effect for his condition so he gave it a shot. Medjo unfair coz he was on lazy keto but he lost 7kg already in 3 weeks. He was a heavy rice eater - 2 cups per meal, and he gladly gave that up.

ay ang tagal kong nawala. Hehe. Andami na nasa keto diet, putok na putok at patok na patok!

Anyway, last post ko is May 2017 pa re keto diet. Di ko pa talaga kinaya ang strict keto noon pero umiwas na ako sa bread, pasta at rice. Di din ako nagmonitor ng timbang ko. After 6mos na nagkita kami ni fafa, comment sya na ang payat ko daw. Bwahahaha.

This year nagstart ulit ako, last wk lang. This time as much as possible I try na nasa 20g lang ang carbs ko. In one week 2.1kg ang nawala sa akin :D

Namimiss ko magtinapay kasi fave ko talaga yun kaya mejo nahirapan ako. Sweet tooth din ako pero nacocontrol ko na.

This weekend try ko gumawa ng keto bread naman.

Tuloy tuloy lang tayo mga sis!

I'm on Keto since Oct last year and have lost around 7kg, lazy keto lang talaga. Was just happy with the progress given na I've been struggling with weight loss for 2 yrs now and I also have PCOS.

Been baking my own Keto Loaf as well - it's pretty easy to make, considering I was a first time baker. :)

My boyfie naman has fatty liver, told him about Keto's effect for his condition so he gave it a shot. Medjo unfair coz he was on lazy keto but he lost 7kg already in 3 weeks. He was a heavy rice eater - 2 cups per meal, and he gladly gave that up.

Been in Keto for a month now, exactly a month, and I only lost 5 lbs. but it?s okay kasi hindi ako talaga nag count ng calories and carb, I should do that. Anyhow, like your bf sis, I used to eat at least 2 cups of rice per meal and I have been really wondering how did I do it.

Finally nag lose narin ako. Hindi man sobra laki, naka 10 lbs narin after 6 weeks
I realized bawal pala ang buko juice, akala ko dahil pwede coconut oil, eh ok rin ang juice. Dpala pwede dahil sa sugar content, so tinigil ko

trying to get in track again, I lost track when I went to Ph for holiday, dami kasi namiss na food. So I was trying to start again slowly by slowly until I completely avoid carbs. yes it is hard . I still haven't started to bake my own bread, medyo lazy pa. just trying to get motivated again :)

Well my favourite dish I prepare for keto:
Zucchini pasta - just add bacon, thickened cream, cheese, parmesan cheese, super yummy na, can also add chili flakes kasi gusto ko spicy

bulalo - nilagang beef with celery, green vegies like pechay, so no potato kasi carbs ito
omelette egg - tomato, butter, cheese
fish/salmon/vegies
for fruits konting strawberries
for sweet, I make my own chocolate ganache (dark choc, cream, low carb syrup,butter, stevia or other sweetener like truvia)
then I can use the ganache for making, microwave cake, and sa brownies
sometimes, I make my own strawberry jam , so strawberry and sweetener = low carb na :D

Hi Everyone!
I just want to share my progress with the Keto diet. I started October last year but had to take a break during the Christmas season kasi naman ang hirap mag-resist sa cakes, ice cream and pasta. Then I went back to Keto around the second week of January but this time I also did intermittent fasting. I already lost a total of 7 kgs since I started dieting. I need to lose 5 more kgs so my BMI can be within the normal range.
Good luck to all of us and may we all achieve our fitness goals.  ;)

In one week ba maglolose na talagang weight sa Keto? Gumawa akong low carb mug bread sa microwave, kumuha akong recipe sa Pinterest. Kalasa niya mga na order ko noon na Keto bread. Ang mahal na ng Almond flour sa Healthy Options, last week tinignan ko nasa Php795 lang kanina bumili ako nasa Php895 na  :o

Started keto late Nov 2017, early January I felt parang walang effect, weight loss very minimal. Then nalaman ko bawal pala ang coconut juice! Eh fave ko yun, yun ang parang water ko. So I stopped buko, nag IF din ako, at 1st 16/8, then 20/4. Yun na naging effective na sakin. Hindi naman super bilis, mga 1-2lbs a week lang, pero sa starting weight na 143lbs, now Im 118lbs.  :)

Sis akala ko din walang effect sakin nung una. Surprisingly, hindi ako nagugutom. I don't even feel deprived. In just 3 weeks, I lost 10kg agad. Samantalang yung 6 kg with running 3 mos bago ko na achieve, pagod pa katawan ko. 😂

I'll start working out if I lose another 10kg para magaan gaan na ako.

^wow sis that is so motivating. Thank you for sharing na-excite ulit ako. I got into Keto a few weeks ago but to be honest we had many mistakes so akala namin We were eating keto meals Hindi pala. Tapos husband and I went on a trip and we ended up eating sweets also. I think nafrustrate ako sa dailed first attempt namin. Anyway I re-started proper keto last Monday. Day 3 na today and I wish tuloy tuloy nato :) (I?m in the US time zone)

Hindi pa strict keto ginawa ko kasi kung wala naman ako choice like for example may breaded fried chicken or whatever na fried tapos may breading, adobo with soy sauce, kaninin ko pa din kahit soy sauce out sana tsaka yung refular flour. I just monitor my macros pero hindi accurate. Tamad ako mag fitness pal haha. So pag ganon ang food ko, conscious ako na for the rest of the day, wala na ako kakainin na out for keto. Hindi din naman ako nagugutom and hindi din ako nagagastusan. Nag invest lang ako sa natural stevia na mura lang naman. I tried erythritol, ang mahal niya s ahelathy options like around 7-800 pesos i bought 2 packs pa naman, pati almond flour na hindi ko din bet ang taste haha. Pag crave ako for pancake, gamitin ko siya, di ko din naman nauubos kasi nawawalan na ako ng gana kasi di ko siya type. Ang go to foods ko lagi, egg, black coffee, shirataki that I cooked with century tuna hot and spicy. Pag crave ako sweets, yung cream cheese lang lagyan ko ng heavy cream. May minimal na sugar content yung cream cheese and heavy cream. And guilty ako kasi fave ko siya as in kaya ko ubusin within the day yung ginawa ko na cream cheese and cream mixture. But what's one day? Once a month ko lang naman gawin. 😂

Medyo nag slow down yung weight loss ko. Kumain kain na naman kasi ako ng kung ano ano kasi lagi ako nababati na laki na ng na lose ko, tapos weigh ako everyday. So feeling ko di ako lalaki ulit. Kaya ayoko nababati and weigh. Hindi ako namomotivate to lose more. 😂😂😂

Hihi love the struggle sis brandli. Napaisip ako sa post mo soy sauce bawal? Gosh. Nag soy sauce ako kanina as sashimi dip. Sa bahay naman we use aminos as substitute for soy sauce. Does anyone know if liquid aminos (soy sauce substitute) are Keto-approved?

Sis ako din like you, ayoko mabati kasi I become lenient when napupuna ang progress ko haha

^yes sis. I've seen feom other groups na they use oyster sauce or coconut aminos. Pero toyo is a staple in asian cuisine so ang hirap. Parang last week lang, I went out with clients in a Chinese restaurant. Alangan naman di ako kumain ng dimsum. Yung toyo na dip, plus yung wrapper ng dimsum di naman keto friendly so di ba. Mga ganyan bagay wala ka choice di naman pwede na di ako kumain kasi I invited them out. So gagawin ko, adjust ako sa ibang kakainin ko for the rest of the day. May iba they would say that there's no such thing as strict and lazy/dirty keto. Eh ano gagawin ko, di nga maiiwasan. It worked for me at the end of the day, that's what matters. 😁

Target ko by June, na achieve ko na yung desired weight ko. Kaya natin to. 😊

Pero kahit na high fat diet to, hindi talaga ako ma beef and ma pork na tao kaya natuwa ako at nakasundo ko tong diet na to kahit paano. Yon kasi perception ng karamihan sa diet na to. Puro ka pork like lechon and sisig haha.

Ako kasi ive experienced it on my 3rd day, yun nga lang nagkaprob kaya hininto ko. Hehe..
Sa ngayon, doing my usual weightloss regimen and there were times that i can feel my body heating up, some portions of it like lower back of my neck or mismong back and side area... Dun ko sya usually napi-feel eh.. Kayo ba? 😃

I don't actually monito or use strips just to know that I am on ketosis already. Thru fasting, keto food intake, and usual ketosis signs and symptoms, I just know that I am. 😁

Usually, I would feel excessive thirst pero I don't feel hungry naman. Ang ginagawa ko din, small frequent feeding ako. Ayoko magkasakit dahil sa pag diet. Hindi talaga ako nagugutom kahit na konti lang kakainin ko. Kaya lang, I force myself to eat once in a while kasi feeling ko, kailangan may laman yung tiyan ko kahit paano pero promise hindi talaga ako nagugutom at all. Pag nag cheat ako that will surely kick me out of ketosis, I will fast for 24-36 hours then I'd know that I am back on track.

One of my staple meal na pag kinain ko kahit kinabukasan na ako kumain ulit, scramble/hard boiled eggs with salt sometimes with basil, sometimes with tomatoes or onions (konti lang), coffee with heavy cream. Kinabukasan, hindi pa din ako gutom pero kakain pa din ako kasi feeling ko magkaka ulcer ako pag hindi ako nagkakakain haha. I also love minching on, ginisang pechay with giniling, sobrang nakaka busog siya. Kahit ayoko na pork siya, di ko pwede sub si tofu kasi out siya for the diet. Pag malapit na period ko tapos super crave ako for sweets, cream cheese and heavy cream lang ako lagi, solved na.

sis brandi, sis hushush and others, ang haba na ng thread na to so ang hirap mag back read. I'm trying to get on keto track kasi nga we tried before but failed -- super mali pala yung meals that we got kaya lang we didnt want to waste money so we didn't want to throw them away, then nagtravel kame, so kain nanaman etc.. anyway this week committed nako to be on keto. I think i'm on the right track na, but syempre kinda confused pa rin ano ba ang bawal and do i also worry about caloric intake, how to count net carbs, etc.

Hirap din ako gumamit ng apps kasi ang trabaho!! anyway, mga sis, ano ba easiest resources alam nyo so i can be guided sa food to eat and not eat.

Parang kahapon nagpost si sis brandi about soy sauce. Had no idea that soy sauce is not keto-approved. I ate sashimi yesterday for lunch since yun lang option na i thought pwede sakin while at a japanese resto. Proud pako, yun pala soy sauce is bawal!! syempre i used some soy sauce konti lang naman... but anyway, want to avoid mistakes so knowledgeable sisses, please share resources naman.

^^sis brandi, parang tulad lang ke sis lele888 na nagkamali ng keto food selectio ns.. Yung mga bawal sa keto like carrots, yam/camote di ko kayang igive up..
Ayoko din kumain ng red meats kasi so i opted for nuts na lang then nagkabreakout ako then nagka-extremehypoglycemia ako. Pero naglose naman ako in 3days. Around 0.8kg fat weight yun..pero anglaki naman ng damage sa mukha ko til now yung pimple marks eh. 😥 naitatago lang ng concealer.
Im working on it na to remove the blemishes and hopefully ay maalis na at mabalik sa dati. 🙁
Pero one day i might try it again pero need ng proper meal planning.
Bilib naman ako sayo na di ka nagugutom sa mga kinakain mo. Pede mo ba ishare yung meal plans mo baka pede ko gayahin hehe... Nasasawa na din kasi ako sa kaluluto ng garlic to suppress my hunger..

^sis hindi din ako ma meat. So ang consumption ko more on eggs, fish, chicken, avocado, cream cheese, heavy cream. Yan lagi ang mga meron dapat ako. Hindi din ako strict keto kasi sabi ko nga, minsan wala ka choice kundi kumain pag nasa harap mo na kasi yon ang niluto sa bahay like adobo haha. Kahit bawal soy sauce, I only eat in small amount, hindi in moderation. Magkalaman lang tiyan ko, papak papak lang. feeling ko hindi effective sakin yung mag garlic lagi, kasi lalo ako gaganahan kumain. Pag ayoko talaga yung food, may stock ako ng century tuna and purefoods corned beef. Fave ko sila eh. High in sodium din naman na need for the diet. Basta pag hindi strict keto yung kinain ko, hindi na ako kakain until the next day. Hindi din ako fiesta pag nag break ng fast. Usually, bpc lang ako, yung bpc ko pa not the usual na may mct oil or butter pag di ko type. Heavy cream lang. tapos kain ako 2 eggs, hindi ko pa maubos. Hehe. Ayoko din ng nuts sis, lakas maka pimples. Hanap ka lang ng set of foods na comfortable ka at hindi ka magsasawa. I can eat egg everyday nga eh. Hard boiled, scrambled, sunny side up, scrambled with onions and tomatoes, scrambled with basil, i customize and i enjoy mo lang. na realize ko, hindi mahal ang diet na to. Ang nagpamahal sakin eh yong curiosity ko to try keto foods/ingredients like almond milk, almond flour, mct, keto bread, and so on. Di ko bet mga tastes nila. Basta sis ang rule ko pag may ingredient na hindi for keto, konti lang consume ko.

Re hypoglycemia, wag mo biglain agad. Kumain ka ng kasing dami ng usual meal mo pero i replace or bawasan mo yung consumption nung non keto foods hanggang masanay ka. Sana maging effective din sayo and makahanap ka nung right foods na magiging comfortable ka.

I stopped having cheat days everyday since last week, bale turning 2 weeks tomorrow na ako ulit na nag focus sa diet. I lost 5kg agad unconsciously. Katuwa.

^halos pareho lang pala tayo ng mga kinakain sis.puro eggs din ako, cheese at gulay. Nag-walwal lang ako ng konti for 2-3weeks bago magdrop to 48ish yun weight ko, nag-processed food/junks (siomai) ako with naggarlic diet/crash diet (23hour fast) kasi nagplateau ako. Desperado kasi ako mabreak yun plateau na 50kg kaya ayun..about nuts naman i used to eat it before. Pero di ako nagkakabreakout nuon. Paborito ko pa naman ang almond at cashew nuts.. tapos ngayon hindi na pwede.. 😞

Ano na nga pala ang weight mo now? 😊

Yun 1st meal ko this morning ay malunggay soup (knorr crab and corn as soup base) + egg + corned beef and kamatis, onion and garlic. Plain coffeee. Ok na ba as starter for the keto? 😊

^wag mo deprive sarili mo para wag mo maisip na nagda diet ka. I enjoy mo lang and busugin mo sarili mo. Maging conscious ka lang sa dapat at di dapat kainin.

Started early January this year at 91kg. Before the month ended, I'm 80kg. Tapos kumain na naman ako ng kumain pero naglalaro lang sa 80-81kg weight ko, hindi ako nag gain ng bongga despite the cheat days na parang everyday haha. Now I'm 75.2kg. 2 weeks on lazy keto. Hindi strict sis kasi sabi ko nga minsan wala ka choice sa kung ano meron sa mesa. 😂

Target weight ko is 69-70kg kasi that's my weight nung college. Still considered obese for 5'6" big boned din kasi ako. Pag ma reach ko yon, feeling ko ma motivate ako i all the way siya hanggang 60kg. Pag na reach ko yon contented na ako. Ayoko ng sobrang payat iba pa din yong medyo may laman. 😁

Anyone here use the ketogenic stips? Nag-test ako last night and according to it, i am in ketosis. Pero when i weigh myself, walang weight loss. One week pa lang naman but i guess im inspired by other who lose weight so fast so I'm wondering baka may mali akong ginagawa.... naisip ko tuloy what if may sakit ako or thyroid issue kaya ayaw mag weight loss haha excuses.

Anyway mga sis, reliable ba yung keton test strips (Urine test)? Please share.

^Losing weight is more of lifestyle change so you might have to continue with that same lifestyle to keep your weight in check.

I lost weight the traditional way, exercise and changing my eating habit. It's been 4 year and I never looked back. But I still exercise and making sure to eat right. I have no special diet and I don't count calories anymore pero nakasanayan ko na yung lifestyle.

^I agree. It's more of a lifestyle change talaga. I started keto July last year weighing 165lbs. I was doing Fitness Blender, Fitness Marshall dances exercise on Youtube. It's a very sustainable lifestyle unlike any other diet. Now I'm down 115lbs. 10lbs to go na lang. Goodluck mga sissies!

I am finally losing weight! Just happy finally may progress although ang tagal and I don't feel deprived either... i've been eating keto friendly snacks and desserts (Hungry Hippo Ice Cream and Cookies). I've also been taking nut butter supplements which are high in fat.. but i noticed whenever i take a nut butter (it's like a spread na combo of macadamia nut, and some other nuts), my heart feels like it's beating a LITTLE faster.. not sure if my blood pressure accelerates because of the fat concentration, or i'm getting an energy boost from this nut butter. I notice though i lose weight EVEN faster on days i take it. I've lost 6 lbs so far, average of 2 lbs. My husband thinks im crazy and i should stop but i want to lose another 6lbs to stop. I just want to feel my best in my best weight.

I feel that everyone should do more research when it comes to this topic and get some basic understanding about human metabolism. Dieting is never a safe option and you need to figure out are you really ready to take any risk on your health. For example, there are a lot of companies that sell ketones as a weight loss supplements. But this is not only recommendation for keto diet, it's a good idea to do proper research about anything that can affect your health.

Hello hello. Pajoin mga sis :)

I started my Keto / LCIF diet almost a month ago. pero may mga days na nagcheat ako, kaya hindi pa madami ang nalolose ko. Though, parang naglose na ako ng 3.5kgs, and nasusuot ko na ang mga damit ko dati na hindi kasya saakin. Nakakahappy!

Ang main problem lang, may gout ako at mataas ang cholesterol. Kaya, hindi sakin daw pwede tong diet na to sabi ni Doc :(

Andami ko na-try na diet lifestyle, slimming coffee, pills, etc. Nag enroll pa ko before sa gym before, but this lifestyle eto lang talaga yung makikita mo ng result agad agad. :)

hello, i am into this diet, lifestyle rather, dami ko na din natake na slimming pills before but this one yung talagang nagwork or maybe dito talaga ako naginf determindado. Hirap na hirap ako makabalik sa ideal weight maybe because of lack of discipline.

nafeel nyo na ba yung bigla na lang kayo maiiyak sa salamin while looking sa sarili nyo? Ano nangyari?  :(

i lost 13kilos on this diet, 5th month ko na ngayon almost on my goal weight na, thanks to this diet and to my brother who introduced me to this lifestyle, nag speed din ang burning of excess fats ko and carbo because of keto supplements that my brother gave me ( he is also in keto) I even showed it to our family doctor to check if its safe, she approved it naman, with the help of the keto burn advanced weight loss supplement  more energy for me, nawala cravings ko, and nakatulong makapag shred ako ng 10 kilos more while taking it. Talagang tyagaan lang and full committment on this diet, but i am happy, almost hitting my target goal in no time.

kaya advice ko lang sa mga gusto magpapayat, consistency, determination and discipline is the key and magagawa din natin makabalik sa dating katawan. :)

Once, I tried opting for a diet like this, Ketogenic Diet (https://ketogenicdietfatloss.com) and that is when I realized I cannot keep up with it! Haha, but it seems like you are really good at it keep it up!

nag stall ako ng 1 month without losing weight, my doctor who is always in ketogenic diet is recommended din nga yung Keto supplements for faster healthy weight loss which is the keto max or keto burn supplements. i lose 3 kilos in 1 week, anyone  here who also taking this?

I never had a problem with Keto diet, maybe because before Keto, I was already doing low carb so hindi biglaan yung pag-cut ko ng carbs.

I was a skinny fat and my metabolism are kind of whacked due to me having a genetic disorder, Marfan Syndrome. I'm 5'10" and weighed 124 lbs. My waistline was 29 inches. I did a DXA scan before I started Keto and found out that I was at 33.4% total body fat and my fat tissue was 41.5 lbs.

So I did Keto for 6 months and when I had my DXA scan again, I went down to 26.3% body fat, fat tissue is now 31.3 lbs and my waistline is down to 25 inches (on a good day!).

I'm back to eating carbs again because I feel that I've reached my goal in losing the unwanted fats. I also feel like it helped normalize my metabolism. The thing with keto diet is if you're skinny fat and you're trying to lose fat and gain muscle, the diet interferes with weight training. Medyo mabagal ang muscle gain because you'll lose strength and if you're also not careful with your diet, you might end up losing muscles. So far when i did my last DXA scan, I gained more muscles and gained just a little bit of fat on other areas of my body and kept my waistline.

I did Keto for 4 months.  It's the best diet!  I'm not on Keto anymore because i miss eating fruits.  But i don't eat anymore rice, bread and pasta.  Because of Keto i have weened myself of sugar & carbs.  I have a healthy diet now, more of vegetables, fruits & seafood.  I have also stopped drinking soda & juice.

This is a cool diet my girlfriend lost 8 kg per month

Purefoods hotdog is not allowed. They only allow Johnsonsville brand of sausages which is pure beef. We have here in Canada ay masarap sya  especially when grilled. Very tasty.
