hi mommies!
May thread na ganito dati but the last post was last 2011 pa. I want to know what brands of sterilizers are good, and kung mas okay ba yung multipurpose - sterilizer/dryer/warmer compared sa sterilizer alone.
Another thing, for breastfeeding mommies, do you still use bottle warmers for your BM or dip lang sa water?
Thanks!
-
Onga mga sissies, pls share your latest thoughts on these..baka may mga bagong technology ngaun na gamit na ang mga ibang brands.. im looking into pigeon and looney tunes ngayon which has a good feedback from last 2011 forums..and with lower price na din..
-
^ hi sis! I've also read about the sesame street naman na sterilizer/dryer. Unlike the looney tunes brand na naka set na yung drying time (medyo matagal daw nasa 45 mins), yung sesame street naman daw ay may options na 15 minutes, 30 minutes ata.
There's also chicco din na dependable brand din naman na di nalalayo sa price range ng mga looney tunes etc.
Sana may mag share ng thoughts :)
-
I saw this kyowa ata or imarflex sterilizer for plates. Mas malaki siya than usual bottle sterilizer with a capacity of 6 bottles only, eto pwede pang plates also. It was around 3k ata basta not more than 4k. Im thinking of buying this one para i can also sterilize the toys. Ewan ko lang though if its sterilizes as well as the avent or chicco brands.
-
I use avent steriliser, easy to use and easy to clean. Worth every penny. :)
-
Looney tunes with dryer for me since breastmilk ang nilalagay, mas comfortable ako pag dry ang bottle and no water moist.
Dip lang sa water, no need for bottle warmer for me, since di naman binababad ng matagal yung milk
-
-
^There was this post last week on FB Breastfeeding Pinays regarding until when dapat isterilize mga bottles and it's good to know na marami pala hindi na nagsterilize pag mejo malaki na baby. Me, when my baby turned 6 months, i sterilize the bottles once a week. Then when he turned 1 year and 1 month totally tinago ko na [textspeak!] sterlizer. I just use warm soapy water then rinse with tap running water.
So same din with their feeding bottles. But to each his own way naman.
-
our first sterilizer was old school pakulo (recommended by my in laws). but it made no sense to me to spend too much time making sure that the bottles were not left in there too long. sayang sa oras. we got a bebeta sterilizer, on sale pa if i remember correctly. sobrang tagal nya at reliable. di na kami bumili ng dryer. ngayon naman big na ang anak ko, di na need ng super sterilize.
-
-
hi, mga mommies..joining in po. :)
In all my 4 kids, old school sterilizing process ang sinusunod ko..since yun naman ang advise saken ni mama ko at ng pedia ng mga kids..pero now that we are having our fifth and last baby, hubby and I opted to buy steam sterilizer..mas mabisa daw yun sa mga bpa free feeding bottles since di mo na nga ilulublob at papakuluan amga bottles and other feeding utensils..
anyone uses steam sterilizer here, mga mommies? kindly share your thoughts po..
thanks!
-
I'm using Sesame Street Sterilizer + Bottle/Food Warmer.
I rarely use the Bottle/Food Warmer.
Gaano katagal bago mag-dry?
-
Hmn no. It's sterilizer+food/bottle warmer. :-\
-
We used Chicco sterilizer for our daughter. It served us so well for three years. After that, I gave it away na cus I weaned my daughter off the bottle.
-
I'm using looney tunes rapid steam sterilizer.. actually eto yung all in one.. bottle/food warmer, juicer,etc.. around 2k lang..
I followed what other mommies do here sa GT, after sterilize, (I also use wilkins water sa sterilizer) I put water na sa bottles yung usual na consume ni baby per feed.. then lalagyan nalang ng milk pag feeding time na...
:)
-
pigeon sterilizer. used this for our daughter who's 12 yrs old now. then next use was for our now 3yrs old and presently using it for our 2months old. matibay and most sulit baby item.
-
ours was farlin electric sterilizer. i think 15 mins lang ang cycle nya. super tibay, never broke for 3-4 years of being used daily. i gave it away this january, sabay nabuntis ako ng march. hehe... need to buy another one tuloy. sayang!

pareho pala tayo sis..ganyan din binili ni hubby for our baby for only 1,4k only dahil sale sa baby company the time na binili nya yun...di ko pa sya nagagamit kasi di pa lumalabas si baby, next month pa..sana nga reasonable ang pagbili nya nito.excited na din ako gamitin yun ;D ;D ;D ;D :)
-
We are using Avent 3in1 Electric Steam Sterilizer bought it online kaya mas mura if you compare it sa Mall and its 220 volts so okay. So far never had problems with it. Still looks new. Performance wide it does the job pero good thing about this sterilizer eh pwede siyang maliit or malaki.
Plan on getting bottle warmer but my friend told me its hard na masanay si baby kasi baka ayaw na uminom pag hindi mainit.
-
i also used looney tunes rapid steam sterilizer, ang tagal na nito samin..4yo na baby ko and maayos na maayos pa rin sya..although hindi na nag bo-bottle baby ko minsan ginagamit pa rin namin para hindi masira heheh.plano namin sya gamitin sa susunod na baby if ever..heheh
-
we bought a cheap sterilizer, same lang naman ang function with all other branded and pricey ones. the brand is precious moments. we bought it for around Php 1400. we don't use bottle warmers. we just dip the cold bottle to a bowl filled with warm water before giving it to our baby.
-
Hi mga mommy! I am using Dr. Browns na sterilizer. Tapos may sterilizer liquid ata yung tawag dun. :)
-
I'm so confused, I'm planning to order at target.com to be delivered to my sister for when she comes back home. Munchkins daw is a good brand, but i'm looking at agent in mother care! Pressure!
-
bibili na sana ako ng looney tunes sterilizer with dryer kaso ang konsumo is 400kWh! nag sale kasi sa Megamall. nag canvass ako ng ibat ibang brand so far Farlin pinakamababa 350kWh.. ang aksaya sa kuryente.
-
I bought kase bebeta sterlizer 8mins. Standard nya automatic mag ooff.
-
for my 7 months old baby, we're using my first child's 6+ years old Avent sterilizer. After sterilizing the bottles, we also sterilize spoon/plates there.
-
We bought Farlin sterilizer. Super sulit kasi my baby is already 18 months and never sya nasira. We use it one or twice a day. Mura lang din sya.
-

No worries, i also sterilize my looney tunes bottles sa Bebeta.
-
Ilan minutes mo inisterilize sis?
-
^ 8-10mins
-
I'm using Dr Brown's electric steam sterilizer, ok sya kasi Dr Brown's din bottle ni baby.
Still using tommee tippee's bottle warmer, lumalamig kasi ang water ni baby pag nasa aircon, so i put it sa warmer. I bought Dr Brown's bottle warmer few months ago pero until now di ko pa din ginagamit :)
-
I created the topic because when I searched for this topic it is already locked and I can't find the new thread for this.
What is the best steam sterilizer na mura lang and matibay yung hindi madaling masira.
Okay ba ang Baby Looney Tunes? What is the voltage of this one?
What about this one which is Bebeta

-
Anyone familiar with Snug warmer from china?
-
Hi sis! I'm using Barney Steam Sterilizer. Gift lang sa baby ko nung binyag. 1 year ko nang ginagamit ;D Siguro 3x a day kaming nagssterilize ng bottles ni baby. araw araw yun.
-
^^ sis, i think may info din on this thread--
http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,282439.0/topicseen.html
-
-
For those who are using Looney Tunes steam sterilizer ano ba mas maganda yung multifunction or yung the one with dryer? kasi sa nakita ko dalawang magkaibang bagay ito eh! Yung isang multi function walang dryer.
For those who are using Bebeta, safe ba mag sterilize ng bottle kapag isa isa lang within 8 minutes? What if gusto ko isang bote lang muna?
-
Wala siyang kasamang tong sis.
-
^ For bebeta sterilizer, walang issue sa sterilizer kung ilang bote ang ilagay mo, mapa-isa or puno.
Sayang nga lang kuryente mo.
-
And ask ko na rin how many times do you use that sterilizer then curious na rin ako kung magkano additional nababayaran niyo sa electricity bill.
-
I want to try the philip avent electronic steriliser. Wala kayo so far problem dito?
-
I already purchased the Multipurpose and Rapid Steam Sterilizer at the price of 1430. This is 350 Watts in which nacompute na namin kung magkano maidadagdag sa electric bill if we are going to use it everyday for 9-12 minutes lang. Hindi naman pala masakit ang consumption at maliit lang pala as in per day parang sentimo lang tapos sabihin mo nang 31 pesos a month ang idagdag. So mas sulit ito compare sa gustong planuhin ng hubby ko na bumili ng kaldero tapos doon madalas gagamitin for sterlized then siempre gas naman ang kakainin nun. I would rather choose this one na araw arawin. Sa Distilled water naman mapapagastos rito just in case. I hope matagal ko itong magagamit.
-
Iniisip ko if Chicco or Looney tunes na din ang bibilhin ko e. Yung mura lang since balak ko sana e mag BF for 2 mos... :)
-
^ those are my options, too. Which one is better kaya?
-
Wow! :) I dont want to spend on expensive Sterilizers! :-)
-
^ at first, wala nga ko balak bumili e hehe. I'll compare the 2 in person this week.
-
Sige, balitaan mo ako sis ah! :)
-
-
Nakita ko na Chicco, Looney Toons and Precious Moments in person. Less than 2k silang tatlo, naka-sale pa yun Precious Moments at 1,700. Looney Toons is probably cheaper by 100-200 pesos. Comparing the three, pinakamukhang durable yun Chicco, probably because of the simple design. The other two have tongs included but wasn't able to check Chicco.
-
Wow so Chicco nga din yung balak kong bilhin e, :-)
-
I opted for Farlin electric sterilizer. 3 na kaming meron nito and also sa hospital where i gave birth tested na quality kahit 5-6 times a day nila ginagamit sa nursery nila.
I've been using mine for 6 months now and ok naman. Not so pricey but not super cheap na mapapaisip ka if ok ba quality.
-
How much ang farlin, sis?
-
P2k bili ko pero last month nagsale baby company 20% off. P1750 sa lazada now.
2 kasi farlin na electric isang mababa and isang mataas yung body. mas ok malaki kasi mas madaming mailalagay. pwede kasing patong patong lang mga botes and parts don so more than 8 bottles pa mailalagay.
at first gusto ko sana yung looney toones na may drier but naisip ko ok lang naman na walang drier kasi ang tagal ng hihintayin arounf 45 min-1hr ang buong process. sayang kuryente. air dry ok na. kahit may moist if di totally matuyo ok lang.
-
hunnie08
In terms of price, mura na si chicco. Since my aunt gave me one, no choice na ako but to use this. Otherwise i would have preferred philips avent.
-
I got Chicco na from Baby Co. P1799 na lang since I registered for it. Seems simple to use. :)
-
Nice, Im eyeing na nga yung chicco nung sat kaso wala ako kasamang magbitbit hahaha naka baby registry ka kasi sis kaya discounted?
-
^ yup! I got a baby bath tub na din.
-
Hi mga sis! For those using bebeta sterilizer ganun ba talaga kainit [textspeak!] sterilizer after mg automatic off? Nagulat kase ako when i touched it e ang init. Feeling ko natutunaw yung plastic
-
-
Ah ok thanks!
-
May dryer ka sis? Or hnhyaan mo lang sa sterilizer?
-
-
for those na may sterilizer na walang dryer i nice trick to dry your bottles is kunin mo na habang mainit pa. i don't use thong kasi nahihirapan ako pero you can use it kung ayaw mo matouch ang bottle. i just wash my hands then nagaalcohol bago ko hawakan ang bottles. labas lang naman ang hahawakan and not loob kung saan pwede macontaminate ang bottles.
i have a big container na may lampin then wisik wisik ko muna bottles then throw lang ng throw sa container. wisik na may force para mas lumabas ang nabuild up na water sa loob ng bottles. habang mainit ang bottles mas madali magevaporate ang water. you don't need to place them in an ordered way basta may spaces naman where air can penetrate para mabilis magdry up. ang assembled nipple and rings iniiwan ko sa sterilizer if or kaya naman nilalagyan ko na ng cover. i've been doing this for 7 months now. walang problem kay baby like diarrhea, etc. my sister also copied this trick. almost 2 months na and okay din naman baby niya.
i just don't like much ang mga basa na bote kahit pa steamed water naman. although minsan nagagamit ko naman din kahit may wet part pa ang bottles.
-
-
^ i fill my bottles with boiled water after ma-assemble then tabi rin sa loob ng sterilizer. pero i dry the sterilizer using clean lampin ni baby para hindi moist masyado.
-
I used my Chicco sterilizer for the first time today. I love using it except i wish it already has a dryer. Feeling ko nawawalan ng saysay ang pag sterilize coz i have to air dry them pa. Wala din akong bottle rack, I just use a plate to assemble them.
-
-
for 6 months now, i've been using munchkin steam guard microwave sterilizer. no fuss kahit madaling araw na zombie-mode you could use it. i also have the munchkin deluxe drying rack. i use the sterilizer cover to cover the drying rack. para-paraan lang ;)
i don't have a bottle warmer. to thaw frozen breastmilk, i use an electric kettle and a thick ceramic mug. kahit zombie-mode, keribels pa rin. ;)
-
vuzhia
If dusty sa place niyo, you will need to wash the dryer every other day and alcohol everyday. You need another place to put your bottles and nipples. I use first years, it's a little over a thousand lang.
You guys don't need a warmer. According to the lactation specialist at st lukes, the warmer loses the anti bodies in the breastmilk so just use hot water. We have lang hanabishi and thermos in the room. 3 minutes tops and it's good to go. I mix latching and bottle feeding kasi masakit din talaga.
-
I do not warm my milk. I just thaw it with tap water and give it to my baby. So it becomes room temperature if i thaw it an hour or two before hand but there where times id give it cold and he has no problems naman. Whenever we go out i bring milk so i dont have to direct latch in public and nakalagay siya sa insulated bag and would be cold but he'd still drink it buti nalang.
-
how much pala yung looney tunes at sesame st. sterilizer/dryer?
I'm about to give birth kasi in 1.5 months and bibili ako sana ng Avent Natural newborn starter.
-
^I'm using Bebeta sterilizer kasya ang 6 bottles ng Avent Natural, kahit 11 oz nila kasya
-
Planning to buy Chicco, saw it in SM for 1999, I think. This will be the first time I'll be using electric sterilizer as I was using conventional pakulo for my first bebe.
-
^ I have that chicco also. My pedia suggests small dryer/ heater for the pump accessories naman.
-
^How was it sis? matibay ba?
-
^ i'm using Chicco too. Can't say kung magtibay since I just started to use it this week. But i like how easy and simple it is to use.
-
I'm using The First Years electric steam sterilizer. i got it based on the good reviews I read online. Ok siya kasi easy to use and adjustable ang rack niya. Maraming bottles ang pweding ilagay pati parts ng breastpump and small toys kasya. You can also remove the rack if sobrang dami mo talagang kailangan sterilize. I use avent natural bottles pero kahit anong brand siguro ng bottle kakasya.
-
Will go for chicco sterilizer, too. It's large compared to other brands that we've seen within the same price range. The review is generally ok naman. Sa ilang malls, may free bottle pa.
-
Bought tommy tippee bottles and The First Years, anong sterilizer ang kasya ang ibang brand ng feeding bottles?
-
Bought Chicco sterilizer yesterday, sayang! wala nang free bottle..
^I bought Avent and Tommee Tippee bottles too and by the looks of it, kasya naman cya sa Chicco. I havent tried using it though coz sa January pa due ko.
-
until what age ba dapat naka sterilizer?
-
We used Avent electric sterilizer for my panganay for 2.5 yrs until she was weaned from the bottle. I also sterilized breast pump parts there. But for her eating utensils and during travels, we just used hot water.
I didnt use bottle warmer.
Its been 5 yrs, I plan to use it sa second child namin. I will have to take it out of the storage to check if its still working.
Re drying, after the bottles cooled down a bit, we put them in a separate covered container (lock in lock) with wash cloth to dry. We didnt use drying rack kasi prone to dust.
-
I have dr. brown's electric stream sterilizer. seems to be working perfectly fine. :) big enough for my dr. brown bottles and avent. pwede rin breastpumps and other items that needs to be sterilized.
-
^ How much yan? I'm planning to give this as wedding gift sana. Not particular with brands, basta steriliser.
-
^ hi sis, 5499 sya sa SM baby company. Pero naka-sale, 4300 or 4600 nalang yata. ok talaga sya, malaki sya enough to fit almost all type ng bottles. kasi diba yung wide neck ng dr. brown's is like one of the biggest sized bottles sa market. bigger than avent natural kaya kasyang kasya. it isn't too bulky either to occupy a lot of space. kasya kasi 6 wide neck dr brown bottles. so if standard bottles, 8 kasya.
i've looked for other sterilizers narin kasi, fisher price, looney tunes, chicco, avent, e maliliit na bottles kasi sila kaya di kasya si dr. brown. avent is okay, kaso si standard bottle inside avent 3-in-1 hindi pasok yung height. mataas masyado si standard bottle ni brown for avent sterilizer so I chose brown nalang para fit lahat hehe.
-
how much pala yung looney tunes at sesame st. sterilizer/dryer?
-
We have Dr Brown's as well for sterilizer. Ok nga sya kasi parang maski anong shape ilagay mo basta kasya ok lang. May space pa for small parts. For bottle warmer, we have yung sa babies r us lang. So far so good naman, it serves its purpose. Walang drama drama :)
-
mga sis parehas lang ba ang electric sterilizer sa steam sterilizer? if not, what's the difference? tia.
-
^ electric steam sterilizer sis. oo, same lang. may mga sterilizers kasi na using steam but not electric. like farlin manual steam sterilizer. traditional kaldero at pakulo tubig but still, steam parin ang method nya of sterilization.
-
Chico sterilizer so far reliable for me.
-
^ yup. mas aksaya sa gas kasi and matagal ang process kapag pakulo ka pa. delikado pa kapag nalimutan mo nagpapakulo ka. sterilizers go for 6-12minutes run time. i do it once a day.
-
^ahkei. Thanks for the tip sis.
-
Avent yung sa amin. Gamit namin sya since newborn palang anak ko.
Almost 3 1/2 years old na anak ko ngayon and ginagamit pa din namin sterilizer nya. :)
-
Before binababad lang namin bottles sa mainit na tubig, but since babalik na ko sa work at hassle na yun, decided to get the Looney Tunes Multipurpose & Rapid steam sterilizer yesterday.. Yung may bottle warmer, food warmer, egg boiler and juicer. Got it at yellow tag price p1,430 sa SM babyco.
It fits 6 regulag bottles, 5 kapag Avent wideneck bottles. So far satisfied naman ako for its price. Hopefully in the future pag nagsosolids na si baby eh masulit ng gamit yung other functions nya. :)
EDIT: after 1 week use, nag-stain agad yung heating plate... ganun ba talaga ka-bilis? tas may nakita pa akong kalawang the size of a dot!
-
Hi can somebody send me user manual of looney tunes sterilizer? I lost mine kasi. Di ko alam if ilang amount of water lalagay ko huhu
-
In short, ayaw nila ipabalik.
-
I bought looney tunes Touch Panel Sterilizer with Dryer Function, tapos nakita ko sa baby fair mas mura nga sya, kung medyo nakapag hintay lang sana ko ;)
-
^bumili ako ng Looney Tunes na sterilizer with dryer for 1,400.
27 weeks pregnant, first time mom
-
I asked a friend based in the UK to find me an Avent breastpump there since it's way cheaper compared to prices here in the Philippines. Then last night, he sent me some pictures so I can choose which one he'll get. There was this package na 1 3-in1 steam sterilizer, manual breast pump, 4 Natural 9oz feeding bottles, 2 natural 4oz feeding bottles, 2 natural teats, 1 bottle brushand 3 soothers which is at 50% off. I computed it on Philippine peso and ang lalabas Php5,250.00 for the set. What a steal sana kaso my steam sterilizer I used for my first born and was also bought by my same friend in UK four years ago is very much functional. Sayang naman kung kukunin ko just because it's a good steal eh di ko rin magagamit.
-
bought my Chicco sterilizer for 2k nun 2010 and we used it till 2013.. nasira lang nun hiramin ng sister ko.. feeling ko super sulit naman eto.
i saw a Pigeon steam sterilizer sa St Lukes pedia wing when we had to stay there for my sons confinement. it was available sa pantry area where you get the water and do your washings. matibay sya kase used by all sya.. now i thinking of purchasing this its at 5.8k nga lang..
-
Can tommy tippee bottles fit any steamer/sterilizer? I'm planning to buy TT but I'm not yet sure which sterilizer to buy.
I'm planning to EBF for as long as I can but just in case I need to go out, there's my BM for my baby.
Thanks! :)
-
^ghye, that is exactly the same avent set i got and i think sulit sya. i haven't opened the box yet kase june pa nman due date ko. Got mine for $239 aud. Around 8,5k in peso.
-
sulit ba? before kasi sa una kong anak, nagpapakulo lang kami ng water then ilalagay sa malaking mug, ilulubog dun ang bottle eh, that's how we warm the milk.
i am contemplating of buying it. sulit ba talaga?
-
@ bluish mommy - i found that appliance impractical. at madalas room temp lang gatas ng baby boy ko before.. so its either you thaw your milk at room temp or put it inside a bowl full of water na room temp din. siguro need yan kung nasa malamig na lugar ka pero dito sa pilipinas parang hinde naman yan need.
-
^that's what I thought so nga mukhang can-live-without naman sya, sa bagay nakaraos nga kami sa panganay ko.
thanks sis!
-
We only used our bottle warmer for about 2-3 months... if kunwari nasira sya and may nagtanong if papalitan namin, I would say no kasi it's not worth it. But if I give birth during winter time again, yes I'll probably buy one again but definitely not gonna shell out a lot. Sayang lang.
sterilizer, this we used until she was around 2.5 yrs old... so definitely worth getting it, IMO :)
-
recently bought a Chicco 2 in 1 sterilizer for 2500. its a bigger version of my old sterilizer and it can be made compact. =)
-
Yeah I kinda regret buying my bottle warmer. I got this nice, fancy Kinde Kozii bottle warmer, supposedly the best one out there, and really, it's just as easy to just warm/thaw breastmilk using tap water. Maybe I'll use it in the future when my baby starts solids and I can use it to warm solid food in containers.
I do want to buy the EcoMom UV sterilizer though. It functions as sterilizer, dryer, and storage of bottles and other breastfeeding accessories.
-
Where do you store your freshly sterilized bottles? Tuyo na ba siya after sterilization?
Planning to buy either avent or chico sterilizer.
Thanks. :)
-
after taking out from the sterilizer we immediately put the distilled water inside the feeding bottles and put it in an open basket.
i bought a closed plastic bottle organizer before for my son but it did not fit his classic avent bottles.
-
I am expressing breastmilk and I'm starting to build my BM stash. Bought Avent sterilizer...
How do you deal with the water condensation on the bottles/lids after sterilization? Air dry? Tried air drying but it took ages for the bottles to be completely dry.
Can I fill my Avent bottles with expressed BM and just refrigerate them, to save time?
Also, do you remove the teats from the nipple holder during sterilization? Ang hirap kasi ibalik and that would require touching the teats, sayang ang pagiging sterile.
-
@coco_cola avent bottles and sterilizer user here for both expressed BM and formula
Yes, sabi sa akin sa avent na you need to remove the teats from their holder while cleaning, pero ibalik mo din before sterlizing them
Usually taktak ko lang maigi before using it for BM or formula, air dry ko or I use clean na damit ni baby.
-
Natapos din mag backread. Thanks sa tips sisses! :) For sterilizer we bought lang yung precious moments na brand. Cheap lang, got it for 1200 kasi sale. Mas malaki sya kesa sa looney tunes. Sana masulit namin.
-
Sadly my chicco sterilizer won't turn on after 2yrs 2 mos used (power button stuck up) :( I don't have the receipt anymore so we can't have it fix and eto si hubby tried to open it which is a bad move dahil sobrang hirap niyang buksan to the point na nasira na talaga lagayan niya
Now we are looking for a new one na affordable..I wanted the ecomom but more 10k pala siya and we are expecting naman again so sana yung masusulit namin uli..
-
I hope to hear more feedback about Chicco 2 in 1 sterilizer. Thats what Im planning to buy in a discounted price.
-
I got 3 sterilizers. Avent electric and microwave; looney tunes. among them, my favorite is the looney tunes because of its dryer feature.
-
my brother bought a 2nd hand Avent Sterilizer from Ebay. ito ang ginamit ko sa 1st child ko, hanggang ngayon nagagamit ko pa with my 2nd child. panganay ko 8years old na. i would say very efficient ang brand na ito.
-
Mommies, ok ba yung Farlin sterilizer? Lagi ko nababasa good feedback sa Looney Toons. Original price ba nila yung 1,400? O baby fair price yun?
-
^Im using Farlin sterilizer. I would recommend it to anyone. It is one of my best buys sa mga gamit ng baby ko. I cannot compare it with other brands kasi yun pa lang naman nagamit ko pero for me super sulit bili ko sa Farlin :)
-
Thanks sa feedback sis! Will put it in my list. Sana makabili din ako sa fair. :)
-
SA Mga nag ssterilize, do you experience yung bottle namumuti sa ibabaw at ilalim dahil daw kaka sterilize what to do to prevent? Im using chicco sterilizer. Tnx
-
Is ecomom sterilizer worth it? What about the avent 3in1?
-
for me, hindi sulit. di ko pa nagamit. pero sa tingin ko, masyadong mahal. i would rather buy an affordable sterilizer and spend the extra cash on other essentials than buy an Ecomom.
-
^^before ecomom ang top choce ko but tama si sis fionaapple kasi hindi sya practical. My top choices are avent, chicco or tommie tippie. Hehe
-
Anyone here who owns chicco sterilizer?
BPA-free ba yung sterilizer ng chicco? Wala kasing nakalagay sa box unlike other brands naka specify talaga na BPA-free....
-
What sterilizer do you use when you travel?
-
Mommies, I am planning to get the Avent microwave steam sterilizer. May naka-try na ba nito?
I've read the comments about Farlin, Looney Tunes and Precious Moments, will try to consider them also. I am 3 months pregnant after 10 years. Stove-top lang dati ako mag sterilize.
-
As in amoy sabon?
-
We also bought chicco steam sterilizer, because I find the korean UV sterilizers na uso ngayon too expensive. Medyo madami akong questions sana may makasagot ;D
Para sa mga mommies na nagsteam sterilizer, how did you dry your bottles, teats, pump parts after sterilizing? Airdry ba? Did you pat dry using paper towels or cloth towels/lampin?
Completely dry ba dapat yung before storing the bottles? Minsan kasi may matitirang moisture, kung hintayin kong completely madry before storing, baka matagal syang nakahang during airdry and maexpose pa sa ibang bacteria/germs.
How true to?
Before ba manganak, did you already sterilize yung bottles?
-
Distilled water para di mamuti yung sterilizer and bottles
Thanks sis for the reply ;D At least ok naman pala mag airdry, baka bili na lang ako ng bottle drying rack.
-
Question po, what is the difference between simply boiling the bottles in hot water from using an electric sterilizer? Hindi pa kasi ako bumili ng sterilizer and I am contemplating whether I should kasi if wala naman difference why not just boil it. I am getting paranoid kasi even if my baby's bottles are said to be BPA free.
-
I bought an ecomom for my second baby. Definitely more convenient to use compared to our old sterilwizer (steam). Plus, saves space. Before I need space for the sterilizer, drying rack and storage. Ngayon I store the bottles and pump sa ecomom na. It has drying feature so no need for drying rack. I agree that it is expensive... pero Iniisip ko na lang na when my baby is done with milk, I can use it to sterilize toys, cellphones, make up brushes, etc.
-
Sis Aftergl0w, I think the difference is just a matter of convenience, mas matrabaho lang magsterilize using the traditional boiling of water and babantayan mo pa. Not sure lang ako kung how many minutes max iboil dapat yung bottles.
If I had the budget, I'd also go for the UV sterilizers, it seems so convenient kasi. Hopefully in a few years bumaba na ang presyo, pag mas dumami na sila sa market. ;D I heard that Ecomom costs half the price pag binili sa Korea mismo.
-
^Thanks sis. How often do you sterilize your baby's bottles? I researched on the internet, paiba2x ang sagot eh. Some say it is not necessary, except for the first usage. Some say once a week, other naman every after use. Naguguluhan ako. I personally am wary about heating plastic bottles everyday, but if kailangan talaga, I think I might as well buy na a sterilizer para ma sulit ko.
-
For sterilizer, I am using the latest Avent Sterilizer and it works very good. Super init lang niya after so you have to wait for a couple of minutes before you get the bottles.
Right now, what I do is nagpapakulo ako ng konting water lang (so super bilis lang kumukulo na). And then I place it in a cup and nilalagay ko dun yung bottle.
However, I'll be back to work next week and baka mahirapan yung helper na maiwan sa kanya.
Thank you
-
@Aftergl0w, after every use sis.
-
I've heard about Ecomom too but I'm really wondering why moms these days would spend 15k for a sterilizer vs. the usual one you can buy at the mall for 2-3k. What's the main advantage of UV sterilizer vs. a steam one? Apart from that it looks nicer and you can use it as storage.
Ang ayoko naman sa kanya is the entire cycle takes 35 minutes so it takes more time and electricity unlike the normal ones na 10 mins done na,
I'm just looking for the ff features: sterilizer with dryer, can fit all sizes of bottles and parts, can serve as storage for bottles/ pump parts, easy to use and clean
TIA!
-
Now na 3 months na ang baby ko, parang na te tempt akong bumili ng UV sterilizer especially that I am an exclusive pumper. :P End of each day nakaka 4 na salang ako sa steam sterilizer namin nakakapagod din kahit 9 minutes per cycle lang. Plus hindi pa yun tuyo. E pag breastmilk dapat no water residue totally kasi parang ma affect yung shelf life. May nabasa akong blog na pinag compare nya UV sterilizers in the market at uPang ang pinaka sulit - performance, price and electricity consumption.
-
May nabasa akong blog na pinag compare nya UV sterilizers in the market at uPang ang pinaka sulit - performance, price and electricity consumption.
Can i have the link to this blog sis? Iv seen and heard about UPang but since wala masyado reviews i didnt want to risk too...
-
we've been using a steam sterilizer for my first baby that doesn't have a dryer! sobrang pinagsisisihan ko talaga. i wish i did more research on it.
on our second baby, im considering getting a uv sterilizer na but still having doubts kasi its really expensive! i plan to exclusively breastfeed na kasi this time, and ang hirap talaga patuyuin ng breast pumps with a steam sterilizer. plus we'll be sterilizing 2 sets of bottles na, ang daming papatuyuin without a dryer. :(
second option ko is to get a steam sterilizer with dryer na. ill figure out na lang what to do with the old one. its such a waste.
-
@sparklingjewel -- sis, basta somewhere here sa page nya: https://margosmama.wordpress.com/2017/10/20/breaking-down-the-cost-of-giving-birth-in-the-philippines/
Paki browse mo nalang, ayaw kasi mag load dito sa office kaya hindi ko makita exact blog post nya about the uv sterilizers. ;D
I plan to buy na ng uv talagang pikon na ako sa steam sterilizer ko. I think sulit na din kasi pati teethers and other toys pwede na masterilizer lalo na malapit na mag ngipin baby ko.
-
Thank you, mindiegirl.
bzbee, may steam sterilizers naman yata with dryer, which also cost under 5k.
Hindi ko parin majustify why i need to pay 15k for a UV sterilizer apart from it looks nice hehe.
Well, i have a few more months to think about it... but the 10k savings could go a long way for other baby stuff.
-
@mindiegirl yung ibang teether ng baby ko natunaw after putting it sa steam sterilizer. didn't know hindi pala lahat pwede ilagay sa sterilizer. nasayang tuloy. :(
@sparklingjewel wow good to know na mura lang din pala ang sterilizer with dryer. as in tuyong tuyo na kaya yun? meron din uv sterilizers na less than 10k pero hindi sikat na brand so nakakaduda. i guess one of the advantages ng uv is mas marami kang pwede i-sterilizer like certain toys, phones and books. so siguro if you're particular sa ganung bagay you'll benefit from that. pero ako personally, i don't think its necessary. for bottles and breast pump ko lang talaga siya gagamitin if ever.
-
^Yes sis meron with dryer na mura padin kaya i find it hard to convince myself (and hubby) why a 15k UV sterilizer is worth it. May science ba talaga na mas effective and safe ang UV kesa steam/ heat. Is it not harmful for a child's things. Kasi yun lang talaga pinagkaiba eh..
-
buhayin ko lang yun thread!! been wanting one... ano mas okay Haenim or Upang UV sterilizer?
I will get one kasi preggy ako 2nd time.. may steam sterilizer naman ako kaso never ko nagamit Avent siya.. kaya di ko nagamit kasi SAHM ako for 2 years mahigit at never natuto anak ko dumede sa bote.. at 8 months straw cup na siya agad.
pero now im working na need ko na i bote yun soon to be anak ko hehe..
-
^Haenim is the biggest, has the most features and most expensive pero if capacity is not an issue and you won't be sterilizing a lot then Upang is ok na. I went with Ecomom because it has the most local users who all have good things to say, and more accessible service center :)
-
May user ba dito ng Uvibuddy sterilizer? Okay ba? Relatively cheaper kasi compared to other brands like Ecomom and Haenim.
-
I saw a comparison chart (https://smhttp-ssl-37593.nexcesscdn.net/wpstore/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/sterilizer-comparison_updated-1.jpg)
I'm thinking of getting one din pero talaga bang deads ang bacteria and other harmful thingies sa UV sterilizers?
-
To those using UV sterilizers, does it cause your bottles and nipples to turn yellow?
I heard that UV light destroys silicone like Comotomo bottles.
-
A friend gave her steam sterilizer sakin nung preggy ako sa first baby ko...pero ang ending ay sa regular sterilizer na pakulo pakulo din kami nagsterilize...un parang malaking kaserola lang...then sa 2nd born ko, yun isang kaserola na lang talaga ginagamit ng hubby ko para magsterilizer, so feeling nya waste of money lang un isang sterilizer na binili....ginamit na lang nya bilang stock pot ;D
so sa current pregnancy ko, same mode na lang sterilizing thru pakulo sa kaserola..
-
I never used UV sterilizer. Traditional kaserola din ako from Farlin. Aluminum steriliser set
-
-
We used a Chicco sterilizer sa bottles ng daughter ko before. Will prolly use the same this time.
-
eto lang natutunan ko. if your using silicone bottles like comotomo and boon don't buy UV sterilizer
masisisra lang siya it's not compatible
i have UV care multi-functional sterilizer di ko magamit gamit palagi kasi yun anak ko sanay sa comotomo na bote... kaya gamit ko pa din yung avent 3-1 sterilize.. then buy na lang ako ng drying rack and storage box.
