Title: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: lavinia13 on April 04, 2014, 08:40:38 pm

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
3. Magkano ang premium?
4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
5. Ilang years kayong covered?

sun maxilink prime
regular pay for 10 years
24k annually or 2k/month
death benefit is 1M or 1.5M in case of accidental death
insured til age 88, pero yung investment part walang limit
for now accidental death benefit (ADB) palang kasi i'm an ofw.
other rides available for ph residents include:
accidental death, dismemberment and disablement (ADDD)
hospital income benefit (HIB)
total disability benefit (TDB)
waiver of premium upon death of initial owner (WPD)
waiver of premium upon death or during total disability of initial owner (WDD)

reason would be maximum protection for a small amount. i have another another existing single pay VUL from another company. naliliitan ako sa makukuha na death benefit. 125% lang nung amount na nilabas ko. while sa policy ko now, ang total na labas na pera would be 240k pero 1M ang death benefit. not bad. my need for protection has grown because of job hazards. though we are provided with life insurance sa work, i plan to leave the company in a couple of years. this is my head start for protection.

hope it helps :)

Hi, im 23, single, walang anak.

Sun flexilink
1M face amount, 10 years to pay
premium is 37k+ annually (pero bayaran ko ng monthly for now)
Benefits are ADDD, CIB, HIB, TDB
Covered up to 88 years old
Reason is I'd like to take advantage of paying lower premiums while I'm young. First insurance ko din ito at bread winner ako ng family so current beneficiaries are my parents.

1. PhilAm Term Life Insurance
2. 1M
3. ~3k
4. It's plainly life insurance lg talaga
5. 1 year
6. To play it safe and to Invest the rest of my money na maipon ko sa MF. Mas malaki yung returns

I'm not really into VUL and whole life insurance. Ang mamahal kasi and NAkakatakot kasi pag samahin yung insurance with your investment. Buy-term-invest-the-difference (BTID) yung style ko for investing. You've heard it from financial experts BTID.  ;D

generali.
mine is 3k mo, 9k quarterly
5yrs to pay
sa i remember 200k yung life insurance after 5yrs, mas mahal sa death.
2 yrs pa lang may makukuha na pag may accident

pwede ka ring mag withdraw after 5yrs, though hindi full amount. meron pa ring dividend every year.

for me it's like ipon na i don't have

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo? Abundance from Philam
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay? 500,000 7years to pay
3. Magkano ang premium? 27000
4. Ano po ang additional benefits? me mga Riders for Accidental Death
5. Ilang years kayong covered? not sure
6. Reason kung bakit yun ang kinuha nyong insurance? eh eto kase ang inoffer nung agent ko, ang gusto ko lang naman is a pension plan, eh nagnyari yung life insurance ang rider at ang base niya is the pension plan. Pero maliit lang ang coverage. Parang 100k lang.
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: phoenix77 on April 25, 2014, 06:06:33 pm

Eto po yun sa akin...
1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
Term life - for the high protection coverage
whole life- for my critical illness benefit
vul - for my retirement planning (and future spending needs :))
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
term pay until needed
whole life & vul pay until able :)

3. Magkano ang premium? term is cheapest

4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
sa whole life ko, critical illness benefit yun added aside from the standard accidental death

5. Ilang years kayong covered?
yearly renewable term until age 70 or when its not needed anymore whichever comes first.
whole life & VUL until age 100

each insurance type has a reason or purpose to maximize the potential of the product. i didnt take it all at once. i just added as i am able to and to revisit/review my financial plan.

hope this helps.

2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?

3. Magkano ang premium?

I got this 9 years ago, so mababa pa ang premium that time -- P10,500 a year

5. Ilang years kayong covered?

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
I got Sun Maxilink Prime. It's a VUL (life insurance with investment).

2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
FA is 1 million. 10 years to pay.

3. Magkano ang premium?
Premium is 48,000 yearly. I invest 4,000 monthly, though.

4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
Accidental death benefit, Total disability benefit, 2 million death benefit, additional 1 million if death is due to accident, hospital income benefit, plus retirement fund benefit kasi invested ang money ko at the same time, insured ako.

5. Ilang years kayong covered?
Until I'm 88 years old.

My parents are retiring soon so I'm going to be the breadwinner. Ayoko naman na if something happens to me, my family will be in debt. I want to take care of my loved ones. Also, I'm only 22, so cheaper pa ang premium, but since I can do 4,000 monthly naman, that's what I got.

Me, I have life insurance but purely life insurance lang. yung sobra ini invest ko sa mutual funds malaki pa ang returns.

Hi, ako, for my daughter, I get AcademiX from AXA Philippines for my daughter. It's investment link. pay lang for 5 years, then as early as 8th year, may payout na for 4 years ata o 5 years depende sa plan mo and pinili mo. Then, may matitira na 280-400k pa sa policy mo tapos nag a-accumulate yun ng interest. And the return of investment is really high. :) I was planning to get pa for me and my husband but thinking pa kung anong best para sa amin. Dami kasi option, and lahat naman magaganda talaga. :)

For health insurance naman, I got a plan from Blue Cross. Out of all the health insurance providers kasi, sila lang yung consistently positive ang feedback even for self-employed individuals.

Now, I'm also looking into term life insurance. Keep em coming mga sis! :)

I have term life insurance, it's purely life insurance, so it's cheap, but it has a big coverage. finofollow ko yung BTID strategy, like MissChievous and cussler. :) kelangan [textspeak!] talaga is discipline na ma iinvest mo yung difference. but if you spend the difference, better stick with whole life or VUL nalang.

1. Maxilink Prime (Insurance w/ VUL from Sunlife)
2. 350 Face Amount
3. 18k/year
4. covered until 88 y.o.
5. We're just starting a Family. Hubby and I planned na hindi kami mamamatay na kawawa ang maiiwan namin.

AXA Philiipines - Axelerator

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo? -Axelerator, it's a life insurance na investment link
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay? 2.5k/month , 5 years to pay, 150k sum insured
3. Magkano ang premium? 30k yearly
4. Ano po ang additional benefits? Investment link. Design for education, retirement and financial needs. Loyalty Bonus etc.
5. Ilang years kayong covered? Covered until age 100
Kasi it's a life insurance na investment link. Meaning, you have guaranteed amount at the same time, yung rate of return ng investment mo tumataas, pwede umabot ng 20%++ interest rate of return depende sa flow ng market. Pwede ko sya gamitin as wealth accumulation and at the same time magamit kung may malakihang needs sa money.

I get AcademiX from AXA Philippines for my daughter. It's investment link. And the return of investment is really high. :)

Hello sis, I assume you do understand that the illustration only
shows the returns assuming a performance of (normally) 4%, 8%, 10%

The return on your investment completely depends on what fund
you choose to direct your premiums to and its performance. Losses
are possible.

And since this is a VUL, you can't avoid realized losses. Unlike
with mutual funds and UITFs where you can just sit on the sidelines
and your losses will just be paper losses.

Due to the monthly charges, your losses will be realized.

Just making sure you're aware  ;)

Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: ikaela on July 16, 2014, 09:33:53 pm
^Basic life coverage is 5 times your account's average daily balance in the past three months. Accidental death is 10 times. It also has accidental disability/dismemberment benefits. All the details are here: https://www.bpiexpressonline.com/others/SaveUp_Prov.htm

So let's say you keep an average of 50k in there, the face amount will be 250k and accidental death will be 500k.

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo? SunLife Maxilink Prime, availed of it at age 27, 2 years ago, feb 2013, when I was still single.
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?  500k, 10 years--although may disclaimer na:you may have to pay additional pa after 10 years
3. Magkano ang premium? 6,710 every quarter--26,840/yr
5. Ilang years kayong covered? haha. forgot this one. parang 80 ata..check ko nga mamaya.
3. after comparing VUL proposals from 3 different companies: UCPB, Manulife and Sunlife, Sunlife yung nakita kong pinakamura sa tatlo at for me, pinakamaganda yung performance sa kanilang tatlo

bpi direct save up

still thinking of gettingeither sun life, axa and/or prulife. mabuti ng covered ako and my loved ones, habang bata pa ako at kaya ko pang magbayad ng mga premiums

gusto ko yun idea ng red cross personal insurance ng isang sis dito, like me self employed, hirap magbayad ng malalaking premiums.

Accident:
- Availed of personal accident insurance, which is super cheap at 500/year for 200k coverage. We get this from Red Cross, and I think of the money I pay more as a donation to the organization than a premium payment. It's a donation that happens to come with free accident insurance

Medical/Health :
- Got inexpensive Blue Cross medical insurance with 500k in-patient coverage, which only covers hospitalization.

Hello sis :)

Just want to ask how did you apply for the red cross insurance? Also the blue cross?

Thanks sis!
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?

^Red Cross, I went to the chapter closest to my location. Just showed up, signed on some sheet, paid the corresponding annual membership fee, and then got my PNRC ID. That was it. They didn't even ask me for any sort of identification.

Blue Cross, I went to their office for the forms. Waited about a week for the assessment and then paid using my CC. But I discontinued my Blue Cross. I built, saved, and set aside my own health fund instead.

^No problem.

Also, I like Red Cross, sila yung nakikita mo uma-action kapag Ondoy-type events. And I like Dick Gordon -- he gave Red Cross cards to those journalists who were slain in the Maguindanao Massacre.

Newbie here. :)
Ask lang po sana ako ng advice. For the sake of gaining financial freedom. Hehe. Gusto ko po sana kumuha ng life insurance with the basic reason na di maging pahirap sa mga taong maiiwanan ko in case na mawala ako(masyado lang advance thinker! single here, breadwinner nga lang, hehe).  And in case na rin na tumanda ako, ayoko rin nakaasa ako sa ibang tao.
In this case,

Just for the sake of gaining financial freedom.

Hope someone can enlighten me. :)

>>>Pag  ganitong case po ba, mas advisable talaga na VUL ang kunin?

You get VUL if you want Critical Illness Rider na kasama.

>>>So far, sa mga VULs, Sunlife pa lang ang narereview ko eh, and ang top 2 ko doon is yung Sun Flexilink and Sun Maxilink Prime. Ano po ba difference nang dalawang ito?

Maxilink - hindi ka pwedeng magkaron ng Critical Illness Rider; Mas madaming napupunta sa investment fund

Flexilink - you can put Critical Illness Rider;

If this is your first investment, I suggest na kumuha ka na ng VUL, you can get basic life insurance if you have dependents na, like anak na pinapaaral. If your insurance is para lang hindi gumastos yung maiiwan mo, VUL is better, at least meron ka ding investment at the same time that you can use as retirement and health fund if needed. In investing as well, diversify is always the best :) Just PM me if may question ka pa :)

Hello, try to check their management fund fee as well :) Mas maliit the better :) If you need help in comparing, I can help you. Sunlife lang meron ako. Then if meron kang sa iba, let me know para macompare natin. And malaman which is better :)

The main difference of a VUL from a traditional product is the investment part.
VUL kasi is insurance + investment

Traditional is insurance alone

Main advantages nila ay

VUL - you are protected, at the same time part of your premium is also invested. O, need rin maintindihan muna ano ang estate tax :) Main disadvantage is may added fees compared to traditional products.

Traditional - you are protected, period. Main advantage is mura ang premiums. Main disadvantage is when you live long, the premiums get really expensive. That is why in the early years when mura pa ang premiums, you also invest. Para when you are old, you get the payment of your premiums from your investments.

Which is best for you?

If you are starting out, and no investment experience yet, do VUL.

If you already have investments and other insurance, do traditional or term insurance.

In my observation, the more knowledge you have in personal finance, mas napupunta ka sa Term/Traditional insurance.

Kaya, increase your financial knowledge. Invest in your education din :)

~~

Merong Traditional product ang Sun Life: Life Assure. It is CIB or life insurance, whichever is claimed first. Mura ang premiums sa umpisa but if you live long, the premiums get really expensive. So kung ang purpose mo is critical illness coverage, this is a good product.

>>>Pag  ganitong case po ba, mas advisable talaga na VUL ang kunin?

You get VUL if you want Critical Illness Rider na kasama.

>>>So far, sa mga VULs, Sunlife pa lang ang narereview ko eh, and ang top 2 ko doon is yung Sun Flexilink and Sun Maxilink Prime. Ano po ba difference nang dalawang ito?

Maxilink - hindi ka pwedeng magkaron ng Critical Illness Rider; Mas madaming napupunta sa investment fund

Nung nagka asawa ako, eto unang unang inayos ko. Mahirap na

Life insurance from 3 different companies, included funeral, accidental death, critical illness cover. Premium per week is about 30$ and cover is 7 digits each. We're worth more dead than alive... sadly.

We also have income insurance. Lahat ng insurance kinuha namin pero tinaas namin yung cover nung nagka baby kami.

I have Sunlife and I also availed of Metro Family Protect c/o Metrobank CC. Both of which are life and accident insurance.

Naghahanap ako ngayon ng HMO. It doesn't mean that I'm a doctor eh exempt na ako sa hospital bills. :(

hi sissses, I'm an OFW so those that you mentioned are not available here.

any AIA policy holders? Out of all the companies that presented to me, dun ako comfortable. And in the country that I'm in sila yung strongest.

Planning to get a $500k policy, Death, TPD and CI. No interest or anything just pure protection with high coverage malaki pa kasi 22 pa lang me. $24 a month, around 700php

Second is coverage a $10k death only, but with investment my agent explained that only 6% goes to the insurance and the rest will be invested. Planning to use it as my retirement fund. $100 a month around 3200php.

Is it high for a monthly payment?

Sobrang na inspire ako sa thread na ito and it pushed me to finally get a protection hehe.

So informative, thanks mga sis  :) :)

hi sneezes, Not sure kung anong product yung kinuha mo. but since there's no investment involve i assume that's a term insurance that you may stop paying anytime you want. Pero hindi ka na magiging covered if hindi mo na tinuloy. as simple as that. ok ba yung kinuha mo? depends kung anong need mo. kung purely insurance lang naman kelangan mo, then ok lang yan. but if you're looking for more, try to check other products as well. there are 2k per month na insurance + investment pero hindi ganun kalaki ang insurance and of course depends sa age mo. :)

^ hi sis anjcam, I got this nung nagsstart pa lang ako magventure ng "investments".  When I learned that I should start making an investment -- which includes insurance, rather than stocking everything to my bank account, kinuha ko itong insurance.  My plan was to get insurance lang talaga..no investment yet, kasi masmahal yung premium. around 3k ata if with investment. Meron naman mga riders un, and the insured amount is quite good.  Nagtaka lang ako when my other friend told me that she got insurance din at a lower price and she won't need to pay after 10yrs or so (still insured until 50yo or something).  Though mas maliit ang coverage nya, nagtaka lang ako bakit yung akin is I have to pay until I'm 50yo when yung sa kanya eh for 10yrs lang ang payt.

I don't want to stop my insurance naman, kasi matagal ko na din to binabayaran.

Different talaga I have both type of proposals. I'm leaning into getting the 10 year pay that's good for more than 10 years insurance.

The good thing about term insurance is you can stop if you want but of course no more coverage.

^you may try VUL products if you want na 10years ka lanng magbayad and still covered ka. Pwede kasi yun :) as long as hindi mo ilalabas yung investment fund mo. dun lang siya kukuha ng pang charges for the insurance at a very minimal fee. At age 25, you can pay almost 2k monthly with insurance + investment pa. Then stop at 10years pag ayaw mo na and still covered kasi buhay siya dahil sa investment fund. PM mo lang ako if you are interested or if you have other questions :)

Like what they say here, it depends on what your goal is. What works for one person may not work for you.

Ilan ba target mo makuha ng beneficiaries mo in the event of your death?

Since it is also participating, you can earn dividends. May mga trad na 5, 10 or 20 yrs to pay. Ilang years sayo? Got my traditional insurance kasi 14 years ago, Philam, 20yrs to pay, 6k plus annual, P200k face amount.

hmmm. honestly, pang backup ko lang naman ang insurance (obvsly). and enough na muna siguro for now yung less than 1M for the FA of my policies. and yes, may mga bayadin pa kasi ako ngayon. siguro when my budge allows that time nalang ako mag-add pa ng another policy. :)

After purchasing a critical illness plan for my kids few months back, I recently bought my own critical illness plan.  I have to get it now while insurable pa ko. At least, kahit retired na and no more HMO to depend on, I still have my lifetime coverage health plan. Mahal magkasakit, and I worry na maubos ang savings at investment intended for retirement and education dahil lang sa isang unexpected major illness. better be prepared than be sorry.

Hi mga sis. I don't know where to post my question.. sorry if this is not the right thread but I just want to ask advice...

Here's my dilemma... I am an OFW, last year a friend of mine invited me to her son's birthday and there I met her kababata who was in town to visit. To make it short, her kababata is a FA from one of the insurance companies in Philippines. She had a talk/mini seminar after the party para sa mga guests telling us about their products. In short, kumuha kami ni hubby ng life insurance. marami rami din ang nag commit since maganda naman yung product and to be honest magaling naman siya sumagot sa mga queries namin and we learned lagi siyang nasa top FA annually...

My question is - VALID ba yung insurance na pinirmihan namin? I've read some articles that an insurance signed abroad is VOID. nakaka one year payment na kami. I asked her about it just the other day, she said valid daw yung policy basta in-force. and signed in Philippines naman daw nakalagay dun sa documents. Siya nag fill up nung documents and nag sign lang kami so I guess she wrote down Philippines dun sa place.

I am not sure what to do.
I just want to know kung VOID ba o VALID yung policy namin mag asawa. Baka after 10 year pag tapos namin magbayad wala pala kami makiclaim. ouch!!!

clueless_bride: Your policy is VOID. The fact that your policy says that it was "signed in the Philippines" yet you know that you signed it abroad is already falsification of documents.

You will not get any of the benefits. Zero, nada, none. However, by law, the insurance company is obligated to refund you in full.

That agent will most likely be removed. She knows her license limits her to sell insurance within the Philippines only. She is also putting your and your friends' futures by selling you those invalid insurance policies. To put it bluntly, linoko niya kayong lahat.

Please also warn your friends.

The one out I see here is if the insurance company themselves know that the policy was signed abroad and they accepted it. Go straight to the insurance company to find out.

Thanks sis for your info, I am scheduled to go home next month so aayusin ko to at pupunta ng insurance mismo to verify. I don't want her to be removed from her job, mabait naman kasi, I guess dumiskarte lang siya ng ibang way para makakuha ng maraming clients.

^Well, it's either you file the report and she risks losing her license, or you don't file the report and you risk your own life insurance coverage and the hard-earned money you paid for it. Your choice.

I read in the other thread that the agent also told you that wala na tanong-tanong ang insurance company after the 2-year contestability period. That only applies to policies that are valid. Your contract is void and invalid right from the start.

I believe you will be given the choice to either keep the policy or refund all your money. If you choose to keep it, the insurance company will then decide if they will accept and authenticate it. Just get it all in writing.

Good luck with sorting things out!

Thanks Ikaela. I don't have any other choice but to report it kasi how can they sort it out kung di ko irereport diba? I really want to keep the policy naman, I just hope they accept it and make it valid so I can continue paying. Haaaay! ok na din na nakaka one year pa lang kami ng payment when I learned about it kesa natapos na kami ng bayad tapos void pala  :(

^ much OK for me yung with passbook. A bit hesitant din kasi before sa BPI Direct, info card lang... I was thinking, where and how to claim (if ever).

It used to be Get Started account, naging Pamana Savings na.

May I ask if it also has a contestability period?

Upon checking BPI Direct's site, available lang siya sa mga with Time deposit account 😮

Yes, the BPI Direct Save-Up insurance coverage has a 1-year contestability period.

Ang dami na palang changes. Wala na pala yung Get Started, naging Pamana na. As for Save-Up, maybe only the online application is open to time deposit holders? Because it says in the BPI website that you can still open an account "at a branch near you."

If yes, what rider/s can you suggest?

Also, pwede ba na ang kukuha at magbabayad ng policy is not the parents but tita/tito?

TIA!

Mas okay interest rate ni BPI Direct (.500%) compared to BPI (.250%) lang. Sayang din. 😀😀😀

@gypske, an insurance for a child intended for her education is okay. you may consider adding critical illness as a rider (if the insured person is located within Phils) but also please don't forget payor's clause- in the event something happens to the payor, the whole plan is paid.

yes, tito/ tita can pay for the policy.

sis rei_chan - if i would to choose parang mas ok yun coverage ng sunlife with a difference of 1k per year meron ka na hospital income benefits, though 60 naman yun listed ng critical ng manulife but i think mas malapit sa katotohanan mangyari yun offer ni sunlife. i'm insurance agent din pero sa Pru life, and sometimes i usually offer sa client kahit yun first 15 critical illness (listed most) since meron din kasi effect sa premium yun.

@clueless_bride - We have insurance from Pinas na valid, kahit na ang current residence namin is overseas. They also send our premium notice/s to our overseas address. Their head is aware we are based overseas. What made you think that your insurance is not valid?

I may be missing something here -- when you executed the insurance agreement - and you signed it in the Philippines, then you also put in the PH city for the place of signature ('...executed in the city of Makati on xx May 2016th...). Prior to the insurance agreement being executed, meron mga questionnaire na iffill-out, tungkol sa home address, family, health history, etc. If you declared what is true, to the best of your knowledge, I don't see why an insurance agreement will be invalid just because you are based outside of PH. Otherwise, that means everyone who has acquired an insurance in the PH and who moved out afterwards for work reasons, hold an invalid insurance policy.

Insurance is valid as long as it is signed in Philippines or within Philippine territory. If signed abroad, dapat napa-authenticate sa embassy.

@Tea97 sis I did not sign in PH. I signed the policy abroad. Like what sis D4thAngel said, any policy signed outside of the PH is void kasi the agents are not allowed to sell outside of the PH dahil ang license nila ay within PH. Anyway nasort out na namin yung issue when we went home to Philippines early this month.

Mga sis anong ok na insurance if you live outside PH?  Yong insurance+investment? Any idea thanks.

Most insurance companies offer VUL (Variable Universal Life), yes sis it's insurance with investment component. A portion of your payment is used to buy investment units, a portion is used to pay for your insurance coverage.Your investments would depend on your risk tolerance, you may want to invest in bonds, stock market(equity funds), or combination of both, handled by investment managers. You may use this as your savings for your long term need(ex- retirement) with the benefit of having a guaranteed amount for your family in case of unexpected demise.
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: sublime1 on June 14, 2016, 09:44:33 am
If you live outside PH, mas ok nga sis yung VUL. :) Kasi you can control din the investment / insurance ratio, in proportion sa kung ano kaya mong iinvest. More on investment and death benefit ang purpose ng VUL nyo if sa ibang bansa naka'base, not much on other riders like hospitalization, etc. Though case to case basis talaga.

Please note that the VUL investment na kukunin nyo, should really be customized depending on your needs. Kaya its really advisable talaga to set a meeting with a financial advisor before you invest in VUL.

I'd like to remind OFW's, please sign within Philippines only or if outside PH, have the docs consularized, otherwise contract is void, meaning you will not get any benefit.

Hi sis! Bakit mo pala iwiwithdraw yung money mo? If I were your agent, I would ask you again the reason why you get the policy. It must be for your long term investment and your protection. Yes, you can withdraw your money but if you still want to continue your policy, leave at least P20-40K so that your policy is still in force. If you really would like to close it, you can withdraw the fund value (but I'll tell you, you cannot see yet its maturity, minus the surrender charges pa). Reminder, always go back to the reason whyyou started it in the first place. :)

hi sissies! my mom is planning to get an insurance (Manulife Flexisure) for her and my brother. My brother is already 21 y/o. She wants to get an insurance for him kasi my brother is like the black sheep of our family, di daw niya alam kung ano magiging buhay ng kapatid ko in the future kaya gusto niya kunan ng insurance. my question is, is this a good financial decision?

bukod sa insurance for my brother, she'll also get her own, same din yung manulife flexisure. she's an OFW. sis D4thAngel, worried ako sa sinabi mo about the contract being void.

gusto ko sana imeet yung agent na kausap niya para ma-explain saken yung insurance. thru fb chat lang kasi sila nag uusap nung agent. for me kasi its a big financial decision and ayokong masayang lang kaya gusto ko pag-aralan muna.

Sis, VUL is whole life din naman. As long as may funds yung account, may insurance component pa din. A portion is used to pay insurance premium.

Kung gusto naman ni mother ng guaranteed funds, kunin nya yung mga traditional plans, meaning may cash surrender value, sa contract pa lang makikita na nya yung promised amount sa kanya once na mag-decide sya na kunin in the future and contributions nya.

Yes, all papers should be signed sa Philippines kung saan valid ang license ni advisor. Kung abroad, dapat ipa-consularized. Alam po ng bawat advisor yan.

SARAHnghae: wow, swerte ng brother mo ha. Kung sino pa yung black sheep.

So what your mom wants is may pagkukuhanan ng pera ang brother mo, is that right? (How lucky!). A VUL is okay for this, but expect that you will only see any growth on your invested money in the 7th year and up. If the VUL is invested in an aggressive fund, expect that there will be years that the fund will have negative or zero value (so no money for your brother). Kung sa conservative fund naman, expect that the growth will be so little that it might not be worth it to withdraw.

If what your mom wants is that your brother will have money only after she passes away, then good, that means you won't be needing to touch the VUL at all and can leave it to grow. Double-check if the VUL policy has your mom listed as the policy owner and that your brother is the one insured. This way, your mom is the only one who can withdraw funds from the VUL, and the insurance cost will be lower since your brother is younger.

If what your mom wants is for your brother to regularly receive money even after her death (again, how lucky), then traditional whole life insurance is the better product. In this type of insurance, your brother will receive a set amount of money every year/2years/3years on the clock until his death. Wala na investment-investment na iintindihin. But because this insurance product is more secure/stable, it is also more expensive, and the growth over time is abysmal. One thing to also consider is inflation: 1M today will not be the same value as 1M fifty years from now.

Hi janachen, yes i think it's okay to get different vul from different companies. I have 1 in Philam and 1 in Insular. Make sure lang na you know the purpose why you are getting those investments. Yung sakin kasi I got Philam kasi super taas ng coverage nya, so if I die too soon (wag naman hehe) malaki yung makukuha ng family. But if I live too long naman I will use my investment in Insular naman kasi ang focus nya is retirement fund. So very important na alam mo yung purpose so you can maximize the growth of your investment. :) Natutunan ko lang lahat yan nung nagattend ako ng free seminar sa work ni hubby, they are helping people to manage their finances. :)

Sis, what would be your reason kaya for getting another VUL? To increase life coverage, yes maganda ang VUL and would suggest lagyan mo na din ng critical illness rider kung wala ka pa just to protect your other investments from being depleted in case of critical illness.

Baka gusto mo din aralin ang stock market and do the investing yourself.

In my case, I have my endowment plan for retirement (super tagal na kasi yun, hindi pa uso ang VUL), and later on pag nakuha ko na sya, plan ko ilagay sa single-pay VUL. I also have a life/critical illness insurance, and I invest in stock market via COL and BPI Trade via cost-averaging method, also for retirement and emergencies na din.

Purpose ko sana is magkaroon ng fund para sa pag aaral ng baby ko at the same time may critical illness.

Parang mas gusto ko sya - kasi I got mine when I was much younger and fixed amount lang (between 10 to 18k) payable within a fixed period of time (10 years), and got coverage of P1m na. Tiniyaga ko bayaran yan while dalaga pa ako. Ngayon i have kids na, isip ko dagdagan yun face amount - not sure if I can do that without undergoing medical exam.

Meron siyang Power Builder 10. Annual premium is 21k+.
FA - 350,000
Initial Life insurance coverage - 700,000+

"Secures the life of the insured with insurance coverage equivalent to 200% of the Face Amount plus the fund value or the minimum death benefit - 500% of the regular premium plus 125% of each excess paid premium, if any, less 125% of each partial withdrawal, if any,, whichever is higher."

Question:
When kuya meets untimely demise, which one ang matatanggap: yung face amount or yung Initial life coverage?

Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: mxherr5 on June 05, 2017, 05:15:50 pm
I'm not connected with Grepa nor am I an insurance agent but the description you posted seems to be pretty clear. Whichever is higher at the time of the insured's untimely demise is what the beneficiaries would get.

To put it in perspective, the beneficiaries can get either
Possible Death Benefit A: 700,000 + Fund Value
or
Possible Death Benefit B: (105,000(21,000x5) + A(Ax1.25)) - B(Bx1.25)
where A is any amount over the 21,000 annual premium that your kuya added into
the policy and B is any amount he took out from the policy.

Chances are, the death benefit would always be A unless your kuya invests a lot
of top-ups into the policy

I'm a few years down the road now and I can now compare a single-pay VUL with BTID (Buy Term, Invest the Difference).

VUL: I appreciate that my VUL is just there, and that I absolutely never have to think about it. I most appreciated it during the times when I felt like I was making all the wrong financial decisions. Business wasn't going the way I wanted it to go and the stock market was plunging, but knowing that I was diversified through the VUL helped alleviate some of my fears.

However, I still can't help but be dismayed by my VUL's mediocre performance and numerous charges whenever I get the updates in the mail. Up to now, I still cannot justify all the fees. The 2-6% management fee alone is insane; that's already the return of some investment funds for an entire year!

BTID: Still the method I prefer. What really elevated BTID's game for me were BPI and BDO's automated regular investment plans. Now I never have to think about investing in the BTID method too. I can add more when I see that it's good time to buy more, and I don't have to pay more unnecessary fees. I also know that I can get my money whenever I want without any withdrawal charges.

The one downside is term insurance covers me only until age 70, and I never know, I might still be needing life insurance by then. But that's why I got my single-pay VUL that covers up to age 100. And I read that there are term insurance products that cover up to age 99 now -- will have to research more on those.

^thank you ikaela for sharing your own experience about having both VUL and term insurance. I already have VUL, but thinking of getting another term insurance for me and my husband. and a single-pay VUL for my hubby. i suppose there are indeed pros and cons for getting term or VUL. i am thinking of doing the same thing as you did.
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: ikaela on July 05, 2017, 02:58:25 pm
^No problem! I think I might be singing a different tune about VULs if mine was the regular-pay and not the single-pay. During my financially hard times, I would've found it annoying if I still had a VUL policy to pay. Giving my money to an insurance company would be the last thing I'd want to do. And if I were really down to my last centavo and could not pay my VUL premium, I would've easily lost both my insurance AND my investment!

Some insurance companies' funds may also equal or even beat the performance of top MFs and UITFs, but all of the gains are negated by the fees they charge. I have to constantly tell myself that the VUL is for diversification.

^^brandi: look linto Pru Life UK and Manulife. They have good fund managers and also have dollar investments.

Sis, my term insurance has a coverage of up to age 99. But I've booked the policy from Singapore. I am not Sg based, but I specifically traveled there for that purpose. Insurance premiums are generally cheaper in Sg than Ph due to the law of large numbers, and the country's healthcare system, among others.

Just to give you an idea on how much the premium costs, my life cover is around  P33 Million when converted to pesos, I have availed of the Critical Illness rider for P10 M and Total and Permanent Disability Benefit for another P10 M.  I'm in my early 30's when I booked the plan and I got a discounted rate due to a promo at the time of availing the plan. The annual premium that I pay is for P61,500, but I have selected a coverage of only til age 75 (not 99, this is my choice naman).  I believe this is relatively cheap. I also prefer BTID than VUL but I do think that these two strategies are complementary.  But with this type of coverage, I think pwede na sya for estate planning purposes din.

If you don't mind, may I know where is your Single Pay VUL invested? You have mentioned you use it for diversification purpose when the stock market is plunging, is it invested in dollar denominated funds or global funds?

^You got a really good deal. Yes, the one in Singapore is the one I came across too. The up to age 99 seems like too much for me as well, and that long coverage really shows in the premium price. Sisingilin ka pa rin nila talaga. But overall, the term insurance prices in Singapore can't be beat. They're at the top of my list now when I need to add more in the near future.

My SPVUL is in Sun Life. It is in Peso, the type with 4 or so free fund switches a year. But even if I don't switch, Sun Life funds don't lose that much when things go bad. Which also means they don't have the most spectacular returns either when things are doing good. Very conservative fund managers.

Kumuha ako ng life insurance when I became a Financial Advisor with Manulife and this is the plan I got for myself:

VUL - Life Insurance with Investment
Face Amount 1.5M
Quarterly Premium 7,202.83

Then I took another life insurance Policy with Prulife UK naman with Critical Illness Rider for the main purpose na kapag magkaroon ako ng Critical Illness like Cancer or Kidney Failure, mayroon akong lump sum amount na makukuha from my insurance at meron ding kasamang Total and Permanent Disability from accident

Face amount 1.2M
Accelerated Total & Permanent Disability 1M
Critical Illness Rider 1M
Annual Premium 31,800
Monthly Premium 2,650

Both kami ng husband ko insured with similar plans ang kinuha ko and still planning to add more kasi para sa akin ngayon, the more policies the better especially when you have more kids to protect from any financial burdens in the future.

I got Pioneer Insurance kasi maka Masa ang premium when I was 26. 29 na ako now.

VUL - Life Insurance with Investment: Pioneer ENHANCE
Face Amount 1.4M
Monthly Premium: 1K

Then after a year I got Sunlife. Life and investment with Critical Illness benefit.
Face Amount 1M
Lump Sum: 500K
Monthly Premium: 2.5K

8,100 quarterly ang premium namin, for both of us na yun. 3.5M yung insured amount for each of us.

any advice on what type of insurance to get for my mom? she is about to turn 60 in a few months. she used to abhor the idea of getting insurance coverage but has just realized she wants to get one.

she wants to have critical illness coverage and/or riders for medical stuff. she will also be needing it for estate tax purposes. she wont need a lot of money to leave for her loved ones. just critical illness "protection"/ coverage and/or money to pay for estate taxes.

1. what kind of insurance would you advice?

2. if spvul, what is the cheapest spvul in the market?

3. if vul, what kind can she avail of given her age?

@fionaapple
1. would advice to get a whole life/permanent  life insurance. This is the insurance that will cover her until age 100, for the purpose of estate planning. Term insurance usually covers until 75 lang, so after that no more na.

2. cheapest SPVul i know is P50k, with P62.5k life coverage.

3. at her age, she can avail any between 1-Regular pay (higher coverage, with regular payments usually min 5 years, ideal for estate planning), or 2- SPVul (ideal for estate reduction or pamana, she would still be the owner)

Critical illness can be added as a rider to Regular Pay Vul or Traditional Insurance, pero will cover her until 70's lang.

If wala naman manyari sa akin, it will be my retirement fund na. planning to get another insurance like Money Works naman ng Philam.

it's non-taxable as long as non-revocable ang declared for the beneficiaries. VUL is not meant for short term, pang-long term talaga sya. kaya kung wi-withdrawhan lang nya palagi, maling product ang kinuha nya.

thank you D4thAngel. based on your suggestion, I considered 2 types. the whole life insurance and regular pay VUL. I have decided on getting a Regular Pay VUL for my mother without critical illness rider. I would have preferred the whole life insurance. but since my mother does not have a lot of paper investments, i decided that a VUL would be better considering that she does not like to manage her own investments.

a VUL, being an insurance and invsestment package in one product, would suit her considering that she is a person who does not like to learn about paper investing. mahirap na kasi turuan.  a couple of years ago, upon my prodding, she opened a COL Financial account  but she asked me to manage it for her. she is the type of person na better mag avail ng VUL than to do BTID.

Dapat may  emergency fund ka muna sis before ka kumuha ng mga life insurance.

1. Educational Plan
- Kumuha ako ng mutual fund instead of educational plan for my daughter.(Sunlife)

2. Retirement
-I have my sunlife and prulife tapos kukuha ako ng MF sa PAMI

3. Health
-I have caritas. Kaso daming negative feedback sa kanila kaya I wont recommend this company

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
Philam Health Invest Plus
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
580k, 10 years to pay
3. Magkano ang premium?
28,453 annual premium
4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
Accident and Health: 200k
with Medical Reimbursement: 20k
Early Stage Critical Illness: 200k
Daily Hospital Income Benefit: 1000
Waiver of Premium for Critical Illness

5. Ilang years kayong covered?
insured till age 100
although i am young, i just want to have retirement fund na plus magagamit siya in the future yung fund sa business or any other investments

i'm planning to invest in mutual fund also soon pag may enough ipon na. sa PAMI naman or Sun life.

hi, whats the best plan should i get? here are my considerations:

Suggestions lang sis:

for health - hmo, health insurance.
emergency fund - definitely banks, for easy access and liquidity,  at least equivalent to your 6 months salary, kung mawalan ng work, you can still sustain yourself for a time.
educ plan/ retirement - kung matagal pa to, at least 5 years, invest in Stock Market, but if you dont have time to learn, let somebody manage it for you in the form of UITF or Mutual Funds, or VUL (insurance). May program din ang govt for retirement in the form of PERA. I think may thread dito.

The best plan will always depend on your current status.  I must say parents and breadwinners should prioritize their emergency funds and insurance (life, accident, health). Insurance will replace loss of income in case these unexpected events happen.
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?

Dapat may  emergency fund ka muna sis before ka kumuha ng mga life insurance.

ideally yes, but not necessarily. you can do this in parallel, habang bini-build up mo ang emergency fund mo, you can also start saving thru your VUL. imagine may nangyari sa iyo at hindi mo pa nabuo ang emergency fund, so papaano ang maiiwan na umaasa pa sa breadwinner? ang life insurance for me is something like a "yaman" na hindi pa nagmamaterialized.  tsaka pag pinagpaliban mo ang pagsa-save thru insurance, mas mahal na ang premium, especially kung may health factor na involved.
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: brandi on September 27, 2017, 05:27:40 pm
^agree with this. Ideally, you should have your emergency fund first. Kanya kanya diskarte as long as alam mo goal mo. I got my first insurance in the form of VUL when I was 25. At that time, di naman ganoon kalaki kinikita ko and I travel a lot. So I'm building my emergency fund the same time I am paying my insurance quarterly (2M face amount, 8k quarterly, what if I got this too late taas na premium). I feel that if I will build my EF first, I will be delaying the time na insured na ako dapat plus the older you get, higher premiums. So far ok naman. I already got the EF that I wanted, continuously setting aside for it pa ein monthly. My VUL is on its 5th year na and I am planning to get a separate term insurance and MF na din next year. Feeling ko, as I get old, andami ko kinukuha and binabayadan monthly pero naging motivation ko din siya to work well. Plus I recently got my first real estate property na din. Hopefully I will be able to pay it in 5 years time instead of 10 para maging self liquidating asset na siya. Sorry OT. 😁
Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?

^most people kasi they treat insurances kasi as "bayarin" rather than "investments". ayaw nila kumuha kasi ayaw nila "magbayad",  pero what they don't realize is that they are actually saving/investing.

I always tell myself "it's time to invest/save again".

Also, for the others, once kumuha na ng 1M or 2M nakukuntento na minsan. dapat as you acquire assets and as you add more obligations and responsibilities like having a family, having kids, etc., dapat lalakihan mo rin dapat ang coverage mo. papaano kung pinako mo lang sa 1M ang coverage mo tapos naging 3 ng anak mo, this wouldn't be sufficient for them, tapos may property ka pa na kailangan ng estate tax, wala ng natira sa 1M.

4 or 5 years ago, iniencourage ko 'yong friend ko to get insurance, ang sagot sa akin saka nalang wala pa akong pera.

1. For my husband, we got a Sun Smarter Life Classic. traditional, participating. yan kasi ang napili ni hubby dahil nag iinvest naman kami separately.

2. For my mom- Sunlife Flexilink. 59 years old na siya, at 2 months na lang 60 years old na. buti na lang biglang nakaisip na papayag na daw siya kumuha ng insurance. dati kasi ayaw nya yun. di siya naniniwala na kailangan.

around 31k per year. face amount ay 500k. hati kami ng mom ko since ang purpose ay payment of estate taxes and other incidental expenses if the inevitable happens. VUL ang napili namin for her, para sa diversification. Ayaw nya kasi mag invest sa paper assets.so, forced savings/investment na rin on her part.since tamad siya maginvest/ipon. medyo hoarder/adventurer kasi ang peg ng nanay ko.

3. ako- Sunlife Maxilink. 26,840 per year, 500k face amount. 2x death benefit= 1M. VUL type.

^I am. I got one product which I used for my MRI in my existing housing loan,  in the future na ma-payoff ko na yung loan ko, it will serve naman as Estate Planning.  This product is called Philamlife Wealth Freedom Money Accumulator Plus (WFMA+). Why did I get it, because my main concern is to get a big life insurance coverage for a minimal premium, kasi nga gusto ko sya gamitin for the MRI.  Imagine kung maglo-loan ka ng housing sa bank, and you will be paying around P18k for the MRI, patapon lang yan, so might as well pay it off sa insurance which will give me P1.5M coverage and use it as MRI, at least may coverage pa ako di ba?  ;)

So this product is mura lang ang premium, and at the same time malaki ang coverage. Malaki kasi Multiplier, up to 96x depending on age. (I have the chart for the multipliers)

Ex. Multiplier X Basic premium = Face Amount or Policy Coverage

Basic premium is depende sa kaya or willing kang i-save for the rest of the year.

So for example 30 years old ka ang multiplier nito is 95, tapos ang maco-commit mo lang i-save per month is P3k, so sa isang taon meron kang P36k.

Computation of Coverage:

Sorry ha wala pa ako gano alam, nagstart palang magaral.

Sure na kami sa Philam muna kukuha, subukan muna namin and aralin maige, medyo late na kami nakapagstart, but my Husband and I got married last April lang, pero individually wala pa kami insurance.

Annual Premium : 32,045.12

Mode of Payment : Lifetime

Face Amount : Php 1,472,000 (fixed) + Account Value (Investment Fund)

Additional coverage of Php 147,200 as PROTECTION BONUS provided there is no unpaid premium due.

Coverage of Php 1,472,000 in case of Death, Disability, and Dismemberment due to an accident (A&H)

Continuous life coverage without paying succeeding premiums in case of total and permanent disability plus receive an annual disability income (WP+).

Lump sum cash benefit up to Php 736,000 for 56 covered critical illnesses.

As you approach retirement, you may decrease your coverage to Php 736,000.00 starting on the 11th policy year
or down to Php 80,000.00 when you reach age 60 or after the 10th policy year, whichever is later, so you can allocate more to your investment fund.

So pwede iallocate yung coverage/face amount to your investment fund later on, para mawithraw din, and habang alive and kicking ka secured din beneficiary mo in case may mangyari. Gusto ko aralin ito mabuti, wala naman daw fees for transferring your coverage/face amount to your investment fund, pwede din daw mag top up if you want to add.

Palagay nyo mga Sis/Bro? I am looking for a different Insurance policy/package for my Husband like Insular Life.

bluish_mommy Ahhh ok, thank you for that information.

For now, target namin kumuha sa Philam Life (Family Secure), Pru Life UK (PAA+) and Insular (no idea yet).

Any Insular policy holders here? Anong kinuha nyo sakanila and why?

Age: 33
Gender: Female
Currency: Philippine Peso
Face Amount: 400,000

Basic Plan
Manulife Horizons4
(10-Pay1, Type 2 Level Face)

Benefit: 800,000
Premium: 20,576.00

Additional benefits (riders)
Accidental Death Benefit
Benefit: 800,000
Premium: 1,342.48

Enhanced Critical Illness Rider
Benefit: 200,000
Premium: 3,948.00

Total Disability Waiver Included 377.65
Total annual premium 26,244.13

Other installment options are also available:
Semi-annual 13,283.09
Quarterly 6,722.06
Monthly 2,255.00

Sis, okay naman siya, pero eto lang ibig sabihin nyan, if something happens to you ang makukuha ng family mo ay, 800,000 same as your accidental death benefit. If you get sick ang makukuha mo naman ay 200,000. I mean it might sound okay right now pero kasi if you get sick few years from now hindi ba maliit yung 200,000 for a coverage?

Are you buying this ba for coverage as in yung plano mo for this insurance ay for protection and income replacement or investment ba ito as in VUL?

OR

Hi sis, i got my husband a term insurance with Axa, with a critical illness rider. Im paying P4.5k/quarter for a P2.4M life coverage(term) with P500k CI rider. He is 45 yrs.

Though Axa Ion products are different naman,  it is convenient for OFW's pero may residency restrictions.

Thank you sis! Interested ako dyan sis. Anong tawag sa policy/plan na yan? Covered sya up to what age? Kapag mas bata, mas mababa pa dyan sa 4.5K/quarter ang magiging fee tama ba sis?

Yung sa Axa Ion sis, applicable ba yun halimbawa dito sa ibang bansa nagkasakit or na-dead? (knock on wood). OR nasa pinas dapat? Sa Dubai pala kami sis, and almost 4 years. Si husband naman 4 years na. :)

I noticed most of you got an insurance policy from Sunlife, why is that if I may ask?

Planning on getting 4 insurance policies paguwe namin for our annual vacation, kami ng Husband ko and we have Philam, Pru Life, Insular,Manulife and AXA in mind, so as not to put all our eggs in 1 basket, ika nga. Na -curious ako sa SUNLIFE, though.

I want to know kung anong insurance policy did you get from:

Philam
Insular
AXA
Pru Life UK
Manulife

Basically what we are after is a whole life insurance policy with death, accident, critical illness riders, with investment (VUL) component na we can withraw upon retirement (anytime the need arises).

Our budget is 100k for all (4 insurance policies) na sana.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

^ Hi sis, is that Flexi Protect 5?

Thank you sis! Interested ako dyan sis. Anong tawag sa policy/plan na yan? Covered sya up to what age? Kapag mas bata, mas mababa pa dyan sa 4.5K/quarter ang magiging fee tama ba sis?

Sis covered sya up to 50 yrs old nya, pero kung renew ko beyond 5 years, term insurance will cover him up to 75 yrs old. I plan to convert din kasi later on sa permanent insurance (yung up to 100 yrs old,)  para pang estate planning na din. Importante for now na maliit pa kids namin, may coverage sya na within my budget. For younger age, cheaper ang insurance.

Your country of residence qualifies for Axa Ion sis, basta Pinas, UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Italy and 3 years na ang residency, pwede mag avail ng Axa Ion. If ma-tegi or magkasakit, kahit outside PH, makaka-claim. Kaya nga importante for OFW's na may insurance pa din sa Pinas, mas madali for beneficiaries ang claims.

Sis rory, I was 25 when I got my first insurance from Sunlife. Yun kasi madalas may makita ako reviews at that time and goal ko to get one before that year ended that's why I'm in a hurry and didn't mind studying other insurance policies from other companies. Naka mind set na ako na I'll get another one after 10 years so I have ample time to do more research and not settle for another Sunlife policy. I must say, advertisements worked well din kaya siguro karamihan naka Sunlife. Thanks to papa piolo. 😁

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
Sunlife Grepa Power Biulder 10 - VUL
Sun LIfe Assure - CI - term

2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
Powerbuilder - 350k (700 because double FA) 10yrs
Life Assure - 500k (as long as kaya ko premium (since tumataas every 5 yrs)

3. Magkano ang premium?
Power Builder 10 - 18k/yr
Life Assure - 7.5k/yr increases every 5 years

4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
Both have TDB & ADB

5. Ilang years kayong covered?
Power Builder - up to 88 yrs old
Life Assure - as long as I can pay - coverage up to 70yrs old

Power Builder - for retirement.
Life Assure - for dreaded disease. I separated it from my VUL because ang laki ng kakainin nya from my fund value/lalaki premium ko masyado in the future. At least kung term, if I find it difficult to pay in the future, I can stop.

A year or 2 from now, I do plan to get another one. May nahingi na akong proposal from Pru. So far, I'm liking it. Hanap pa ako from Philam and Axa, although nahihirapan ako since I only ask online kasi I'm from Visayas pa.

We are planning to get 4 sana sa July (annucal vacation namin since OFW kami), kaso parang naoverwhelm naman kami, enough muna siguro yung 2. Let's see within 5 yrs kung gusto pa uli magdagdag. Gusto na namin yung Philam (Family Secure) and Pru Life UK (Health Protect) tag-isa kami ng Husband ko.

Sis rory, I got Sunlife flexilink. 2M face value. I have uitfs in BDO nag start ako a year after I got that VUL policy plus I'm also doing buy and hold in colfinancial.

^Thanks Sis, medyo jargons pa sakin ibang terms, nagstart palang din kami aralin mga investments and insurance policies. Salamat sa input. Pero in a nutshell we are looking for a whole life insurance policy with death, disability, critical illness, accident coverage na pwede namin mawithraw upon retirement, if hinde man 100 % lahat ng face amount at least part + account value.

Personally, namamahalan ako sa 32k, pero alam ko pag whole talaga pricey and sa mga needs and goals ko, mas fit for me ang term insurance. Sa mga na offer din kasi sakin na whole life insurance, puro for life ang payment kaya hindi din talaga siguro ako naging interested. And ang push talaga nung mga advisors, VUL because of the commission kaya mas nag dwell ako sa pag aral ng paano kung term lang kunin ko, anong ok for me, tsaka yun nga, invest ko ng hiwalay yung remaining.

^I see, magkano premium nung term mo?

Though inaaral ko pa naman ibang options and may plano pa talaga kami kumuha sa iba pa ng mas mababa, as per Philam so far kasi yun lang yung whole life insurance na medyo maliit premium sakanila with all the riders na kailangan ko and mawiwithraw ko (hinde man lahat 100 %  ng face amount) parang as I reach mga 60s sa 1.5m na coverage maski 80k nalang itira sa insurance, pwede na iallocate sa fund mo so makuha na yun roughly mga 1.3m + account value by then, face amount is also 1.5m pati mga coverages pwera lang sa critical illness, half lang yun, so malaki sa usual, inanticipate ko din deflation rate. Baka kasi kung super liit naman, after 15 yrs say for instance 300-500k lang ang coverage and madiagnose ako with any critical illness, or God forbid maaksidente halos wala na value yung pera by that time.

As you approach retirement, you may decrease your coverage to Php 736,000.00 starting on the 11th policy year
or down to Php 80,000.00 when you reach age 60 or after the 10th policy year, whichever is later, so you can
allocate more to your investment fund.

Yun din kasi goal sana namin, insured kami up until 60 and then withraw na.

Maganda ang term sis if may knowledge ka in investing.

Also take into consideration, walang fund value ang term and nagmamahal as time goes by.

FA's usually recommend VUL because aminin na natin, konti lang ang financial literate and minsan tamad mag-aral about investing and and insurance.

Total Annual Premium (to be Billed Regularly) Ps 25,105.00

Accidental & Disablement Benefit: PhP 165,000.00

Nag di-discuss lang kami ni hub if we'll stick on getting a Term insurance, OR Life/Health insurance na walang investment kung meron man nun. Basta insurance lang, walang added na investment kasi we will invest separately. Pinag-aaralan ko parin kasi yung mga iba't-ibang insurance, hindi parin kami 100% knowledgeable about this :)

ANJFinally Thanks Sis! Ang laki ng premiums nyan, whole life insurance yan both tama ba?

Medyo mababa naman yung plano namin kuhain sa Philam (32k) and Pru Life UK (24k) comprehensive na coverage, VUL component, makuha naman fund value at a later time, lifetime payment.

^sis VUL yan kaya mahal. Meron ako tinitignan sa AXA ngayon yung Flexi protect, 4M coverage, 12k ANNUALLY and this is a term insurance renewable every 5 years pero hindi ganun kataas yung increase ng premium. Pinagaaralan ko pa kasi the other day ko lang na receive yung sample for me.

wow not bad. :D

Business much haha!

^ For 33 yr old male non smoker

Guardian 65 paying period of 20 years - 1,000,000 - 8,830 (premium)
Rider - 20 YR Lifeline (masyadong mababa) - 100,000 (646)

Total level premium annually is 9476. (I guess add ka around 5-8k for 1M CIB)

Sorry, di ko na nahingi na mas mataas ang Critical Illness - this was during the time na baguhan ako about insurance at walang alam sa  riders, preium, etc.

Tapos yun nga nakita ko, babalikan ko siya to further discuss it with her. ^^ tama kayo sis, some F.As ipipilit talaga ang VUL kahit di naman yun yung tamang panga-ngailangan. Admittedly, F.A din ako, pero it's not my fulltime job doing it for love of finance. As much as I can, I don't push products kung di naman kailangan kasi ayaw ko din naman ng pushy salesperson. HAHAHA. DYou need to find a trusted F.A kung may friend kayo na F.A I suggest go to go with them. Best din to compare products first bago mag buy.

Insurance ko for health AXA, had VULs for Sunlife and Manulife. MF ko under PhilEquity. Stocks with COL.

Suggest ko, go for term insurance if you have other investment wheel na like MF or Stocks. Pero may reason naman why VUL is okay din, kasi it's actually parang buy 1 take 1. You're allocating a fund for investment and protection. But then again depende sa need yon.

sis brandi gusto ko yang shared details mo about sa AXA Flexi Protect. And agree sis Rory, kaya very lucky tayo here sa thread kasi merong mga honest FAs dito that we can trust about this kind of discussion para mas ma enlighten lahat, lalo na tayong mga ofws.

I watched 1 video of Vince Rapisura sa facebook, he said kasi na mas recommended nya ang term insurance sa mga NAGSISIMULA palang, that's why mas check sakanya ang BTID. Yung VUL daw kasi is mahal and mas malaki talaga ang commission ng agents nila once may mag sign na client.

I checked the comment box, akala ko may matututunan ako, kaso puro violent reaction from FAs ang nabasa ko. Nakakalungkot. Some commented na may nega side din daw ang Term, meron ding nagsabi na in the long run mas mahal din ang Term, that's why they're promoting VULs.

I hope someone can explain the simplified pros and cons of both insurances here sa thread, para mas malinawan tayong mga layman. :)

I'm paying 40k annually for a VUL for 5 years na. Oag nakikita ko anniversary statement, hindi naman ganoon kalaki yung kinita na parang hello, yung kinita ko sa investment part ng VUL eh kaya ko kitain in just a few months so parang nanghinayang talaga ako kaya lang andyan na siya at naka 5 years na ako so hintayin ko na lang mag mature. Sa term, I will only pay 12k annually tapos after 5 years, nasa 1k lang ang increase ng premium annually pa din pag ni renew ko so hindi siya ganun ka bigat. I am already in stock market and I also have mf and uitf sa ngayon so I really do not see the need to get another VUL. But given a chance to turn back time and I am not in a hurry to get 1, feeling ko hindi talaga ako mag VUL. 😂

Hi po. I'm new in this thread. 21 years old, single, living with parents here in UAE. I kinda wanted it to be a surprise gift sa kanila pag-uwi ng Pilipinas next year. They're both in their mid 40s btw so I think may time pa naman. What do you think po?

I just recently started working and earning and so far may emergency fund and investment plans na rin po ko pag-uwi.

TIA :)

Magkano budget mo? Kasi they are old na. I'd say you get term insurance kasi expensive na siya to be honest.

Always start with Emergency fund. Bakit? Kasi these are liquidated funds. Kung may kailangan kayo diyan kayo kukuha. Try to build it first before investing.

GOOD JOB SIS FOR BEING INTERESTED IN INVESTMENT! I started my first investment din when I was 21 years old. VUL is good for the likes of you kasi mura pa insurance and your investment has a long way to go. Importante kasi na if you are bread winner, dapat may insurance ka to keep your family protected din.

Go read more books din. I suggest.

Others might wonder why I would suggest VUL for youngsters. Una it's a buy 1 take 1. You are protected and at the same time you are investing (get a critical illness rider na rin). Your VUL has a long way to go, assuming you start at 21, you can stop paying after 10 years (31 ka na by then). VUL will take care of your premium. You can open another investment by then kunyari mutual funds etc., para di mo na kailangan bumili ng insurance by that age kasi taken care na ng VUL mo na pinurchase mo nun 21 years old ka.

I hope it made sense. But do your research din para makakuha ka ng mas magandang perspective.

I understand you, sis. Kung ito yung mga F.A mo wag mo na kausapin kasi they are only after earning not really taking care of your finances.

In choosing your F.As sobrang importante na they care about you too kasi you also paid for their service.

^sis pwede pa elaborate more? Yung sa philam ano name ng product? Thank you!
Mukhang okay din Insular. Sa net worth and assets last year number 2 siya number philam.

Ayos yung AXA Flexiprotect laki ng face amount - 12k premium = 2.7M - do you have more details Sis gypske? TIA  :)

Sis Rory at sis brandi:

Age 36 - Male

Philam Guardian - ito yung product -  up to age 85.

Main product:
Philam Guardian 65 - 1M (coverage up to 65) 9,700

Riders:
Accident & Health - 1M - 2170
with Medical reimbursement - 100k - 1316.47
20YR Lifeline - 1M (terminates after 20 years) - 8550
Waiver of premium - 140

Total - 21,876.47 - for 20 years

NOT renewable after 65.

AXA Flexiprotect

2.7M coverage - 12,090

Riders:
CIB - 1M - 5,160
Waiver of premium - 1,107

Total - 18,336 every year for 5 years (increases every 5 years)

sis brandi, parang ang laki ng difference ng 4m to 2.7M sa difference na 6 years age gap (naisip ko lang). :p

Naghahanap din ako ng sa Insular. I think sila may pinakamurang insurance cost.

Title: Re: Anong insurance ang kinuha nyo?
Post by: brandi on November 05, 2017, 07:32:57 pm
Maikli na din naman kasi ang life span natin because if what we eat, activities, etc. pero what if I'd go beyond that age, parang nasayangan naman ko. So at age 65 hanap ako ng another product siyempre sobrang mahal na ng premium sa ganong age. 😂

^The Critical Illness insurance is meant to protect you and cover you in case you get sick during your income-earning years. Yes, the definitions of the various critical illnesses are very limiting, but if you do get sick and your sickness falls into their narrow category, you don't have dip into your savings to treat yourself. If you get a large enough coverage, you could also take time off to heal and recover without worrying about having to work and earn money for you and your family. As you may know, medical expenses is one of if not the top reason why people go bankrupt.

I can't be bothered to find the study now, but critical illness insurance claims have been rising compared to death claims. Because of advancements in medicine, more and more people are surviving their injuries and illnesses instead of dying from them.

Critical Illness insurance is not meant to pay for your health care in your twilight years. A dedicated health insurance or a separate investment should do that for you.

If you find it cumbersome to pay for Critical Illness insurance, you can buy coverage for maybe 10 years while saving up your own medical fund at the same time. Then cancel your Critical Illness insurance when your medical fund exceeds its coverage.

Hi sisses, I enjoy reading this thread, ang educational. Gusto ko rin magapply for an insurance policy. May mga questions lang ako.
What if ang kinuha ko is VUL and 10 years minimum, ok lang ba na magmiss ng 1-2 months? Pano pag inabot ng year?
Pano pag naisipan ko after 5 years na iwiwithdraw ko na lahat, makukuha ko ba yung lahat ng binayad ko less the withdrawal charge?
Or kung nakaabot naman ng 20 years, pwede ko ba iwithdraw lahat ng nabayad ko na? If that will be the case, end na [textspeak!] insurance ko nun?

Thank you in advance!

^Hi sis, I'm from Pru Life UK so my answers are specific to this company but generally VUL products work the same way.

Yes, pwede kang mag-take ng premium holiday. Enforced pa rin ang policy mo as long as may fund value pa. During a training, the speaker mentioned na may former officemate sya who stopped paying his premium after 3 years. But please note na this scenario is not applicable to all.

Yes, pwede ka mag-withdraw but again, pag 0 na yung fund value mo, the policy will lapse. Bantayan mo lang if enough pa yung natira to cover yung charges.

Makukuha mo ba lahat ng binayad mo? Pwede. Pwedeng hindi. The answer will depend on several factors:

1. Time of withdrawal: if matagal na yung fund mo, say 10-15 years then malaki ang chance na bawi na sya but that would  also depend on the second factor

2. Type of investment: low risk Investments like bond funds offer low returns so syempre pag yan ang pinili mo tapos mag withdraw ka agad in 5 years, honestly, medyo malabo to get all the premiums you paid

3. Type of product: may mga VUL products si Pru Life UK  na mataas agad ang fund allocation kaya mabilis ang pagtaas ng fund value. I tried to run this particular product for a friend and in 5 years time, it is projected that mababawi na yung premiums nya. VUL products are getting more and more competitive.

If you only want limited number of years for insurance, say 15 years, then you can opt for term insurance pero definitely the policy will not be able to give back the premiums you paid.

Depends on your needs, budget, and strategy talaga. VUL can give you the option of a premium holiday lalo na kung biglang mawala ang work at di muna kayang magbayad ng premium, the fund value can cushion your insurance expenses. You can also get all the premium you paid through the fund value. Term naman is cheaper but once you stop paying, your policy will automatically lapse. But if you will invest in a mutual fund or UITF, gaya ng ginagawa ng ibang mga sis natin, there's also a chance na mabawi ng gains mo yung insurance premium mo. As long as disciplined ka at continuous ang flow ng fund for investment.

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
Pru Life UK PruLink Assurance Account Plus (regular pay VUL)
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
1M, life pay
3. Magkano ang premium?
37,732 annual premium
4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
Critical Illness: 700k
Total and Permanent Disability: 700k
Accident and Disablement: 1M
Surgical Reimbursement: 15k
Daily Hospital Income Benefit: 1000/day
Waiver of Premium for Total and Permanent Disability and Critical Illness
Loyalty Bonus- 10% of annual premium on the 11th-20th years.
Why regular/life pay VUL not limited pay? Cheaper premium with higher coverage, you are not limited to save specially when you are young kasi if I chose 10 years lang then when I am done and wants to get another one, i might not be insurable that time and in case of critical illness/disability, future premiums will be waived din and not limited for just a few years.
5. Ilang years kayong covered?
insured till age 100

3 months away from our vacation sa Pinas, can't believe ganito ako kaexcited to get an insurance policy for me and my Husband hehe. We've decided to get a term insurance (probably Guardian 65) from Philam Life. At fist plano ko sana ikuha sya sa iba like Pru Life or AXA, kaso malas ko ata sa Agents, parang ako pa lagi naghahabol, whereas yung sa Philam, kakilala ko personally and very Professional not to mention we find Philam very reliable/stable naman.

I listened very well sa mga tips here and decided to get a term insurance without a VUL component. Yung Guardian 65 is to be paid for 20 yrs pero covered until 65 yrs old. I think this is fine for us muna, mahalaga samin covered kami, since 1st policy palang namin ito and we decided to steer clear sa may VUL component para di overwhelming yung lifetime payment scheme and masyadong malaking premium. We will invest nalang on our own.

Philam Life -  Guardian 65 - Term Insurance (non VUL)

Coverage - until 65 yrs old
Payment - until 65 y/o

Guardian 65 (death) - 2,000,000.00
Accident and Health (A&H) -  2,000,000.00
With Medical Reimbursement (MR) - 100,000.00
Waiver of Premium Plus (WP+)
Lifeline to Age 65 (LL65) (Critical illness) - 800,000.00
Annual premium - 24,634.47

What do you think mga Sis/Bro? Nakakahinayang halos 30 yrs to pay din. Please advise, THANK YOU!  :)

Hi sis! Regarding sa Guardian 65 na nakuha mo, I think Guardian 65 is the most affordable term insurance na pang long term. Now if you still find it expensive then go back to why you want it in the first place? Ano bang purpose nito? Remember that nothing is expensive if you buy what is truly valuable to you. In my own opinion lang ha, if you need insurance for 10 years or less, then term is best for you. But if you plan to be insured for a longer period, like 15 years or more, then VUL is better but case to case basis pa rin talaga sis. Better have a lengthy discussion with your FA.

Hi. To answer your question, there are plans that offer both, wherein you get life insurance and at the same time coverage for critical illnesses and even hospitalization. Most insurance companies offer that nowadays. :)

I have term insurance and critical illness insurance separately from Sun Life Canada. My sibling has Sun Fit and Well (https://pwedepadala.com/why-is-it-hard-to-find-a-term-insurance-in-the-philippines/); it's a life insurance with critical illness (CI) as a rider.

For those who wants term insurance with CI, there's Sun LifeAssure. The premium is lower than Fit and Well. I am not an insurance agent or advisor but an advocate. While we are still young and healthy, let's protect the future of our loved ones and ourselves.

Which insurance would you recommend?
Budget - 1500 monthly only.
Goal - torn between retirement or life insurance with death, accident and critical illness.
And which is much better, insurance for me (34y/o ) or educational insurance for my son (6y/o)?

Hello marcee7.  I am a Sun Life advisor.  I personally prefer a VUL plan. You may add on a Critical Illness Rider with this plan based on your allowable budget. Is this your first insurance policy if ever? If it is, I would recommend  that you get insured first since your child greatly relies on you and your income. Should you want to check your options, you may send me a PM. Hope this helps. 😊

usually, yung source of income muna ang iniinsure.  so if wala ka pang insurance, dapat kaw muna ang iniinsure kasi when you're taken away, mawawalan o mababawasan na ng income ng household.  pwede naman kasi na yung insurance mo earns so that combo na, may pang education na si bagets plus if something happens, may makukuha sila.

I?m planning to get a life insurance. Critical illness and accidental protection.

Sa pagpili ng type of insurance, there are factors na dapat mo iconsider.
If VUL, can you handle the ups and downs of the market? Since it has investment, you should be able to accept those possibilities.
You?ll probably get the half of it. Then syempre you?ll think again of your future, rerenew ka na naman. Iba na rate nun. You may opt getting a whole life, limited pay, participating life insurance. Ang savings nyan thru dividends.
Do not mix VUL with CIB rider. Yes pwede din naman, but you should continue paying for the CIB. It will take most of your funds kung hindi.
You may opt getting a stand alone health insurance.
Note that dividends are awarded after the paying period.

Hi sis, the answer is No . Term insurance is purely protection, meaning walang investment, walang cash value.

In choosing a critical insurance, i-consider mo yung budget mo, sis. But as a rider for Term and VUL, critical illness will cover you until 70yrs old lang. So beyond that age, wala ka na coverage for critical illness kahit pa may pambayad ka. Eto yung babayaran mo lang ng ilang years, tapos covered ka na hanggang 100yrs old (that's why we call it permanent). Eto yung babalik yung mga binayad mo kung di ka magkakasakit, either during lifetime (because of the cash value), or in the form of death benefit (sa beneficiary ang bayad pag namatay).

Sis, kahit anong plan yung kuhanin mo, what's  important is you start your coverage while young and healthy. No one ever planned na magkasakit, it could stop your income, it could drain your savings and investments. Let a critical insurance plan serve its purpose.

I want to start this year na, I know medyo late na since mid-30?s na ako at ngayon ko pa lang ise-secure ang sarili ko. Naka-ready na ako for my retirement in the future pero madaling made-deplete ang savings and investments ko kung magkakasakit ako at hindi ako insured.

Sis, if you prioritize health and agent would still push for a VUL, something must be wrong. Financial advisors know that the basic foundation of financial planning is a health insurance. May thread tayo dito ng critical illness plan. Makakapili ka dun. Ask for a quote, and weigh your options.

Critical Illness Benefit - CIB ------------- FACE AMOUNT: PHP 350,000.00

Total Annual Payment is PHP 16,285.50.

I got 2 plans from Sunlife, one for myself and another for my son.
I'm a single mom, which is why I opted to get for the both of us, and multi-purpose din yun.

For myself, Sun Flexilink, 1M FA, with critical illness benefit kasi may history kami ng cancer sa family. Para at least, in case I also get terminally ill, may makukuha and makakapag-assist sa finances.

For my son, Sunlife Maxilink Prime, 1M FA, 10 yrs to pay. I really got this to also serve as my son's college fund. 5 yrs na ko nagbabayad (I got this when my son was 6mos old), so 5 yrs na lang, pwede na ko tumigil. May option din naman ituloy. It is also fulfilling to realize that at the age of 10, my son already has a college fund setup for him.

Hi sis! Just saw this thread. I think the benefits are low but as everyone said. I suggest increasing your budget, by let's say, 1-2K and you'll be adequately covered. I'm an FA as well and I tried making a proposal and at around 17k face amount can be as high as 1.4M with critical illness benefit at around 800K-1M. Well, that is under the assumption that you are around 25 y/o hehe (I just used my age). Anyway, not sure if you already got the policy but I hope that helped.

Hi Mahc, some insurance policies have the advantage of covering both life insurance and critical illness (also daily hospitalization, surgery, ICU etc.) while paying for a fixed premium. I think you can maximize those products para sure na adequately covered ang family.

Yes, trad insurance is still available in the market Pwede mo ipa-convert yang term mo to permanent, para no more medical requirements. Just tell you advisor you want trad.

As long as disciplined ka at continuous ang flow ng fund for investment.

may co worker ako na kumuha ng paa plus ang balak nya ay 5 yrs lang ihuhulog nya sa insurance and then ititigil mnya na magiiwan sya ng fubnd value ok lang ba ganun i mean imsured pa din ba sya nun ng life time

Ang fund value ng PAA plus after 5 years is not yet enought to cover [textspeak!] premium nia.

If he plans to pay only in 5 years, he should have told his agent. May separate product para dun pero mas mahal din ang premium since short term lang sya and coverage is also low.

Sis, you may ask your agent if you can add a term insurance rider para hindi ka na kumuha ng separate plan for your self. At least to insure yourself with a bigger coverage at a minimal cost, lalo na at maliit pa ang anak mo.

oo super matagal na 2012 pa :)

can i still get an axa policy even if may hindi ako nabayaran before? :)

i really want to get an educational plan for my son - may insurance ba for this :)

Axa has Axelerator and Academix, designed for college funding. Maliit lang yung insurance coverage for the base plan, since naka design sya primarily as investment with insurance, meaning priority dito ang paglaki ng investment kaya maliit ang insurance coverage.Minimum 5yrs to pay. Now kung gusto mo palakihin yung life insurance coverage, dun mo palagyan ng term rider, eto yung magpapalaki ng life coverage mo.

I have an insurance that I got when I was on my 20s and paying it for more than 10 years already. When I got it I thought 10 years to pay lang sya then on its 10th year pumunta ako sa Manulife and tthe rep told me it's Whole Life Insurance daw. Haaaay, end up paying it until now. :(

Sis, may whole life insurance na payable in 5, 10, or 20 yrs, but it will cost you more. If you don't mind, how much ang coverage at magkano ang yearly payment?

^ They explained to me na parang hindi pa daw enough un funds na mag self-liquidate ek ek and bumaba daw un interest yearly (may term dito sa interest na to forgot yun name).

Yearly payment is 12K plus . Face amount is 500K with accident rider of 300K or 500K (forgot exact value ng accident). I got it in 2006. I just decided to continue the plan until now since kahit papano kaya pa naman magbayad and I don't have any other choice, its either to stop or continue paying it. I even asked the rep if I can shift it to VUL which is not possible to happen daw. That time when I got the insurance hindi pa naman uso ang mga VULs.

i want to get insurance coverage for myself sana but i'll use the funds for my son's education

almost 5k yun quoted sakin..heheh..pricey for me..I am thinking also of getting for myself nalang kasi if kasama anak, payor lang ako and if I die, waived lang yung premiums, panu yung panlibing sakin?heheh..if i am the insured, may amount ako maiiwan sa mga anak ko..dba?

Hi sis,

If planning for the education of your kids, I suggest getting a term insurance (cheapest type of insurance) and investing your funds in equity funds.

This is the best value for your money. and when the time comes that your kid finishes college, you can now stop paying for the term insurance, since you won't be needing it anymore.

And dapat ikaw ang insured, kasi ikaw ang source of income. yound proceeds for your insurance in case something happens will be invested, and your coverage should be enough to cover for your kids education.

I have 2 policies with Pru Life uk. One is prulink assurance account plus, forever bayad ito. Started it last 2016, 2k/month then inupgrade ko to 5k/month pati lahat ng riders like life, accident, disability, critical illness, hospitalization. Around 5M total coverage. Then, 2nd policy I got this year lang. Elite 15, focus sa investments with insurances padin. So far happy kasi napaka flexible. Medyo naadik sa insurance hehe

1. Ano po ang insurance na kinuha nyo?
2. Magkano ang face amount?Ilang years to pay?
3. Magkano ang premium?
4. Ano po ang additional benefits?
5. Ilang years kayong covered?

I just recently got my third (applied last sat and got approved last mon, yey!)

1st: Sun Maxilink Prime: Face Amount = 500K (but will cover twice the face amount), with riders for accidental death and total disability waiver. 10 yrs to pay for 25K. Got it when I was 28 yrs old, so 5 yrs to go! Should be covered until 88 yrs old. Agent was my cousin-in-law and had been "courting" me for a few years na.

2nd: Sun Fit and Well Advantage: Face amount = 1M (with guaranteed payouts starting 65 yrs old and every other year for 8 times). This is mainly for critical illness but if not withdrawn, it can also cover life. Same riders. 10 yrs to pay for 59K (annual payment). Got it 3 yrs ago. Should be covered until 100 yrs old.

3rd: Prulife Elite Protector 15: Face Amount (for life) = 2M, critical illness (1M). There's also Hospital Income benefit as well as personal accident. This is the most in-depth coverage I have. Life covers until 100, critical until 70.

Meron bang ganun?

I'm planning to decrease my premium go P1500/month and get sun life sun fit and well advante na 14k annually since maganda din benefits.

Below is the proposal.

Please help me to decide kung idecrease ko ba vul ko sa pru life para makakuha ng insurance with sun.
Inisip ko din incase na di ko na kaya bayaran yung mothly, I can give up the other one. Which is not likely to happen.

Experts says that minimum coverage dapat is 10M to make sure that your dependents will be ok when you die so my strategy is to get 3-4M coverage na VUL, because i also want the investment part dahil nasa 8-10M ang target fund niya for retirement. then the remaining 6M i will just get term para mas mura, prob lang naman sa term is that malaki chance na when you are old mahirap na maapprove and nagmamahal, so what i pln o get is yung autorenew na term para kahit old ka no need for approval.

Marami ngsasabi to just get term and invest the remaining, pero for me diversification lang, marami rin ako investment outside the VUL pero mas kampante kasi na kapag pumalpak yung sariling investment mo may aasahan ka pa rin na fund from vul

Recommended coverage for the breadwinner is 5-10x  his annual income. The reason behind is to give sufficient time to the family to adjust to a new lifestyle in the absence of the breadwinner. Besides, eto din ang kakayaning budget ng breadwinner, be it a Term or a Permanent Insurance. Yes, insurance must be a priority, but there are also other expenses to prioritize as well.

Prudential Life or PRU Life version sa Pinas. Nasa Singapore kasi ako ngayon. :)
- Investment Plan  - nsa $158.19 sgd (monthly)
- Retirement Plan - nasa $144.90 sgd (monthly)
-Hospitalization Plan - $710 sgd annual

Yung investment para kang nagssstock market niyan, tapos yung retirement plan until 60yrs old. :) Mga nasa 8million pesos din mkukuha mo pag reach mo ng 55 to 60 yrs old. not bad na kung wala ka ng work non kasi nagreretire [textspeak!] tayo ganun age pwede mo na ienjoy yung pera mo plus sagot na din nila libing mo and hopital.

Hi sis, from Axa here. Please have your sibling fill-up a Premium Holiday Application form para mag stop na ang charging ni Axa.  Form if available at our Axa Ph website.  Hindi po kasi  automatic na mag-stop ang charging unless you request for it. On a positive note, nadagdagan naman yung investment units nya, he/she is buying it a bargain price.

Yes sis, Axelerator is more on investment kasi maliit lang  ang insurance coverage nyan, hence maliit ang insurance charge.   I suggest palagyan nyo na lang ng rider for additional coverage (term insurance) to save cost. For some na nagka-family na, they tend to increase their coverage pero walang budget for additional plan. Better idagdag etong rider na to.

Yes sis. Kung within 2 years contestability yan (first 2 years of the insurance policy), may mga further investigations lang na ginagawa mga insurance companies, otherwise walang magiging problema beneficiaries but to complete the requirements.

thank you sis @D4thAngel

siguro better na kumuha na lang ng medical insurance if ang concern is critical illness  and hospitalization rather than life insurance. *isip isip*

Sis, I suggest leave it muna to grow. I hope the advisor explained to you the initial charges since you are investing under an insurance plan. During the early years of investing, hindi lahat ng bayad mo goes to investment, a portion goes to insurance premium, for the reason na may guaranteed insurance coverage in case of demise. After 5 years, maaaring hindi ka pa break-even sa investment. Value could be lower than total payments.

I had life insurance payable for 10 years, problem is after 10 years hindi pa daw enough yun binayad ko so ending nagbabayad pa din ako hanggang ngayon. Same goes with my friend from Sunlife naman yun sa kanya. Ganito din ba experience nyo hindi nasusunod pag sinabing kesyu payable for 10 years pero hnd naman. Haaay

Nitong nag pandemic we let go two of our insurance. Kaya investment ko ngayon real estate and jewelry knock on wood pwede ko ma dispose if need ng pera.

Yung mga projection nila, napakalayo even nung wala pang pandemic.

24000x5=120k

FV ko nasa 23k lang  :-\

yes VUL ang nirecommend  and monthlt may charges.

Wala akong magawa ngayon kundi ituloy.
