Post by: hot_chili on June 22, 2012, 07:37:55 pm
^nung kami ni hubby nagopen ng joint savings account (atm) 1 valid Id lang then proof of billing, wala din kami landline, maintaining balance is 1k i think

Regarding credit card naman they offered us the one na you have to deposit 13k - then 10k is i-time deposit nila and that 10k will also be your credit limit. If you want a higher credit limit then taasan mo yung idedepoit mo. Now you can withdraw that 10k anytime pero 1month notice dapat and you have to surrender your credit card. so parang collateral yung idedeposit mo na pera for your card - this one you dont have to submit any ITR, payslip etc. basta savings account lang

Question pala, may charge/fee ba pag nagbayad ng bills through BPI ExpressOnline?

^^ tama secured credit card nga, requirements lang is ID and proof of billing. Parang mas bet ko nga din ito at least masasabi mo na hindi utang di ba  :D and the teller said na since nakatime deposit nga yung money mo it will also earn interest

^parang okay nga to sis. I just opened a savings account. gusto ko rin sana apply for credit card pero not anytime soon. pero mag iinquire na rin ako about secured credit card. naconfuse ako parang debit card sya.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3

^ eto yung difference:

credit card
 - yung credit limit and spending limit mo
 - "pay later" concept
 - bank lends you money to pay for purchases
 - basically borrowed/loaned money from the bank
 - billed ka sa purchases mo each month
 - can be used for installments
 - even if you pay the due in full or in partial, it takes usually one business day before you can get all o part of the credit limit "back" for spending

debit card
 - "pay now" concept
 - bank deducts money from your card to pay for purchases
 - basically saved money that may or may not earn interest; it's almost carrying cash but it just comes in the form of a card (money in a card)
 - no billing
 - cannot be used for installments
 - you can immediately use money loaded for spending right away
 - most, if not all, ATM cards here in the Philippines act as debit cards at the same time

regular credit card
 - need mong magsubmit ng income documents to prove yung capability mong magbayad
 - credit limits given to cardholders are generally good to generous
 - has more perks
 - mid to high income earners and those maintaining a good amount of money in bank accounts for sometime are the ones that are most likely to get approved for this card.
 - secured credit card with good credit history (that is, paid due amount in full and on time) can also get easily approved for this
 - if you default on this (not pay the bill for a long time), then eventually the account is turned over sa collection agency which hounds you until you get to pay the bill + late charges.

secured credit card
 - savings or time deposit account ang requirement - ito yung magse-serve as collateral
 - credit limits given to cardholders are generally too low
 - has lesser perks
 - highly recommended for those who do not get easily approved sa isang regular credit card
 - should be a temporary stage, just to build "character" and credit-worthiness in banks; eventually you want switch to a regular credit card
 - if you default on this (not pay the bill for a long time), the bank will just deduct from your savings or time deposit account to pay the bill.

My mom got approved with lots of credit cards. apat na yung kanya (3 Citibank Cards with 40 thou limit each at BDO card na 20 thou limit). thing is, she's not working, walang savings account sa kahit anong big bank except yung bank sa MERALCO (MESALA) where my dad used to work for, and she is just a housewife. Naiinsulto ako kasi ako yung may work with salary ranging to 20-30 thou per month pero di man lang ako maapprove.

Badtrip talaga. haha. Hanggang secured credit card lang ako. Nung nagpa credit card retention ako sa BPI with good payments and all, hindi pa rin natanggap so 2 years na yung secured CC ko sa BPI. nung tumawag kasi yung CI team sa bahay, sabi ng mom ko wala akong work :( e meron naman akong ESL tutoring job.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on September 01, 2012, 06:16:43 pm
^ Most likely your mom got approved kasi maganda ang credit history nya. You just said marami siyang credit cards? So this means magaling rin siyang magbayad.

And I think they are also considering yung work ng dad mo - yung spouse information being asked sa application forms di ba? So there's the income - may sasalo talaga sa gastusin ng mom mo.

As compared to your situation - you probably just have your ITR to prove your income, and have yet to establish your credit history.

Post by: ayami on September 01, 2012, 07:41:56 pm
^ those cards arrived at the same time BTW. o diba? yung random na nangungulit na guy sa Travel Expo ang naglakad nun. 3 cards, sunod sunod dumating.

my dad died when she got all these credit cards. so widowed na nilalagay sa app form (except yung BDO kasi dumating na lang na di sya nagapply).

BDO card, hmn she had this savings account na inopen nya just to transfer kasi yung pera ng dad ko before he died then pinadalhan sya nung card. she RARELY uses that card before she was forced to apply at Citibank (yung 3 cards nga sunod sunod dumating). di sya nagtrabaho ever in her life.

weird. very weird. discrimination yata kasi I'm just 22. I showed them (Citibank) my ITR for 2011 when I applied and got rejected. baka ayaw rin nila ng ESL tutors maybe gaya ng discrimination sa ilang BPO people.

posible ring dahil sa credit history namayapa kong tatay? when he died last 2010, he had 3 credit cards from 3 different banks, all with around 200 thou na limit. ako pa nga nagprocess ng pagterminate sa mga yun. baka nga kinakalkal nila yung history ng kahit namayapang kamag-anak.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on September 01, 2012, 08:13:29 pm
^ ah, that seems unfair.

Mas mahirap talaga yung by ITR. At 22 years of age, marami talaga pa ang di naapprove sa CCs dahil sa lack of credit history. It's also true rin may discrimination sa occupation - like doctors getting easily approved for CCs.

Sisses ask ko lang. i have a friend kasi whose atm card was stolen. nun trace niya sa bpi winidraw yung laman. would it still be possible for her to know sino nakakuha ng atm niya?kawawa naman kasi siya...
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on September 06, 2012, 08:36:34 am
^ Most likely yes, pwede pang matrace.

Tell your friend to contact BPI ASAP.

Paano ma trace sis?metrobank yung atm sa bpi daw withdraw lahat daw.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on September 06, 2012, 09:02:02 am
^ Then tell your friend to contact both Metrobank and BPI banks ASAP. You cannot just trace them by yourselves.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: brandi on September 06, 2012, 09:11:45 am
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: babythug28 on September 06, 2012, 09:17:57 am

Post by: brandi on September 06, 2012, 09:33:15 am

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: babythug28 on September 06, 2012, 09:42:23 am

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: babythug28 on September 06, 2012, 11:58:58 am

kung gusto mo talaga ng gold mastercard, i would recommend that you get it after the bank allows you to withdraw your hold-out deposit. kuha ka muna ng mga ordinary cards such as yung blue mastercard nila. then convert mo sa gold pagkakuha mo ng hold out deposit.

^i see.. pwede din yung blue.. basta may mastercard logo hehe.. pang grocery grocery lang naman eh..

ah, in that case yung blue mastercard ng BPI na lang kunin mo.

ang isa pang problema sa gold mastercard - mataas ang annual fee nun. to have that waived, mas mataas rin ang spending requirements na hinihingi nila. and waiving the annual fee is not 100% guaranteed.

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: ayanlanz on September 28, 2012, 12:09:58 pm
^haha...haha... ;D

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on September 28, 2012, 12:15:49 pm

after pumasok ng LFT last Friday night, nag-post ako sa oDesk about their error kaya may konting HB na naman ako bago matulog around 12noon. :(

1. 2Valid Goverment issued ids (passport, Driver's license, SSS, PRC, GSIS e-Card, OWWA) w/ photocopy
2. 1 (1x1) ID picture (most recent picture)
3. 1 Latest billing statement (residence address) w/ photocopy
4. Must have landline.

Requirements [textspeak!] naman na hiningi are the ff:
-billing statement

no time to backread. has anyone tried applying for a regular credit card after having a secured credit card? I've been using secured CC for 2 years already and gusto ko na magapply for regular CC. 2 years na rin naka-TD yung money ko dun although I don't have plans of pulling out the money. ano kayang chance ko to get a regular CC?

I've tried kasi last year to waive my annual fee for my secured CC and hindi sila pumayag, baka mas madali pag regular CC na ang meron sa akin. kaya gusto ko mag-change. TIA!

Hi guys, yesterday around 5pm I went to get money from my ATM, the card is mastercard debit and US bank, the ATM i used is BPI (EBC), I tried to get money but it said unable to process,
I tried this several times until it said no funds..but I thought it was just a mistake on my part.
When I got home I was charged on my account 130 USD, can anyone help me with this?
I didnt keep the receipt kasi I thought there was just something wrong with my bank ..

I also read other articles online the same thing happening to other people, please guys avoid using ATM especially by BPI , keep the receipts at all times and also try to use a new atm machine at a popular, safe place (to make sure the atm machine has not been tampered with)..

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it..thanks :(

Try calling your bank and inform them about what happened. Keep the receipt that was dispensed and give all info there. Time, terminal no, location and all. Then after that call BPI too. Hassle sya but it happened to me na. Mabalik naman yung money after 3 days

You can still get it yun nga lang mas madali kasi matrace kasi adun yung terminal no nung atm machine which will be more easier for bpi and your bank to cross check.

Title: Re: help with BPI atm not dispensing cash but charge my account :(
Post by: angel_eyes_2nite on February 11, 2013, 10:16:56 pm
Hope by this time your account has already been credited. If not, reporting it to your bank at the same time with BPI will expedite for the banks to reconcile their discrepancies. For such instances lalo na if unable to process ang error, without money being dispensed, better if you report sa BPI aside fr your bank. Faster ang usad bank investigation and credit sa acct. Hope this helps.

Btw, providing them your card number, time of the transaction and atm location will help naman. No need for the actual receipt, though better syempre if you have one kasi madali na hanapin sa atm tape ng txns. But if wala it's ok din [textspeak!]. The bank has its means to locate it :)
Title: Re: help with BPI atm not dispensing cash but charge my account :(
Post by: annn on February 11, 2013, 11:00:32 pm
hi sis thank you for your response, today i had the call and received the cash in a few hours, the bank is a US
bank so i am not sure if that could be a factor in the speed of the money returned, because as you
know here in the Philippines, things take time..

i just want to share some info 8)
a)try to avoid withdrawing from bpi or any other atm that isnt a big bank, especially
if the location is prone to criminals , kasi these machines can be tampered with. i know bpi is a big bank, this is the reason why i prefer to withdraw there, but there is apparently something wrong with their atms, kasi theres so many people online saying they lost their money when they used the bpi atm machine. some of them withdrew as much as 20k and the amount was gone from their account and they didnt get the cash.
http://www.articlesbase.com/banking-articles/atm-machines-could-be-stealing-your-money-5254450.html

b)always keep the receipts..
c)call your bank within 24 hrs
d)you can email consumeraffairs@bsp.gov.ph and they will help you get your money back, it would
be best if you had your receipt with you, you can take a picture of your receipt and attach it to your
email

i have to admit i dont know anything much about atm machines, i thought the money fell out when i left, but apparently
that isnt the case. even when i researched about this i didnt know that atm machines (the modern ones from big bank companies) had special
features which makes it almost fool proof ..

Just copy pasting it here, so everyone will know, if they didnt know yet..hehe. it made me feel a lot better.

"Sophisticated ATMs at Major Banks actually know if the money was delivered to the customer, or if not delivered, sent to an area called the divert tray. Money goes to divert if for several reasons, including the presenter mechanism being jammed, the bills not dispensing properly from the trays and the machine doesn't know how much it has picked, power or software errors during the dispense process, etc. This is likely all the noise that you heard. If the ATM detects a presentment error, it does try to correct itself by clearing all of the sensor points, and then cycling through the process of picking 1 bill from each tray to determine that the paths are clear. All of this gets sorted out by the ATM software during it's daily reconcilement (often done overnight when the ATM usage is lighter).

Check your account in the morning. If it hasn't corrected itself by then, call your bank that issued the card (they have to initiate disputes on your behalf if you are disputing with another company). Your receipt will provide you with the transaction details. After the dispute is filed, provided you are a good account holder, the bank will likely issue you a provisional credit in the amount in question so that you aren't out the use of the money for the duration of the process. The next step, on a regular basis, the bank has to balance the ATM machine as a double check that the totals the machine says it spit out, and the amount it actually did match. It is during this process they can confirm the error and permanently credit the account."

Parang sa maling forum nakapost ito. Going to sue the bank sana with the lost money?

But yeah, good thing naibalik ang pera mo. These things happen. We have to really be on the alert sa funds natin.

I've read those stories about international criminal syndicates installing cameras so they could record the PIN entered by depositors.

Not long ago, yung mga perang naiipit sa machines para di magdispense ng pera at kukunin ng "next depositor" na magnanakaw by opening the machine.

I've been using BPI ATM heavily for the past 5 years... coz I have several BPI accounts. So far no problem (wag naman sana na magkaproblem rin sa akin). Maybe yours was an isolated incident?

Sa akin kasi I'd avoid those BPI ATMs that are located far away from the bank. Yun ang madalas i-tamper because there's no guard stationed beside it, plus these machines are not frequently inspected for anything unusual - unlike those that are installed beside the bank branches.

I got an email na from BPI about my save-up application (done thru online). pero yung save-up ko na inapply ko mismo sa bank, hindi pa rin ata okay. weird. oh well.

whenver you apply for save up pala online, it will take around few days to a week before you get a notification that it's already added to your expressonline account. :)

pwede kaya sis magdoble ng application? sa dad ko kasi nag open din siya ng saveup (yan yung may insurance, right?) till now wala pa din yung letter and wala pa din sa online account nya yung details. pwede kaya na mag apply ulit sha online?

^actually sis ganyan nangyari sakin. I applied twice:

1st - i applied thru bank mismo kasi I'm having problems with my expressonline account. can't login. so nag-apply ako. after few weeks wala pa rin notification or anything.
2nd - since walang nangyari sa 1st ko, nung naayos ko yung expressonline account ko, nag-apply ako online. after few days to a week, nakareceive ako ng email na okay na daw. and nagagamit ko na sya agad now :)

So I think pwede pa rin nya try to apply.

may card ba ang Save Up account? alam ko wala... i have a Save Up account at nakikita ko lang sya online. di ko rin alam kung pwedeng directly mag-deposit sa Save Up from bank counters

online transfer lang ang alam ko ehh

bakit naman magagalit si madir kung may sariling bank account si padir? it just shows that your father is thrifty and would like to manage his own financials... which is very good on my book

btw, just an update lang mga sis just in case merong same case with you.

Just like what I said last feb 5, I opened a save-up with the branch mismo last january since I'm having trouble with my express online account that time. I filled out a form tapos they gave me an info card (literally, paper lang sya hahah) tapos sabi, I'll wait na lang
tapos yesterday, I found out na nabasawan yung main account ko, eh di naman ako nagwiwithdraw. tapos I checked with the bank, sabi okay na daw yung save up ko na inopen ko sa bank. it took 4 weeks! hanggtagal. hahaha

I thought wala na sya or whatevs pero inopen pa rin nila kaso matagal lang. so if you'll open a save up account mas okay talaga na online though they accept it namans a branches pero matagal lang :)

Yung una i went to the bank, 1 week before nagshow sa online account ko yung account number na binigay sakin. yun nung tumawag ako sa customer service nila tapos the rep guided me how to make it appear. naka-hide lang daw kasi yun. Pero yung ginawa ko save-up online within 24 hours nag-show na siya after I made it.

I suggest you call 89-100 for assistance. I love their online transactions. It is so convenient.

Im a bpi client and i find their bpi online efficient.

My hubby experienced discrimination from them.  Before, he applied for an auto loan but they gave him a high interest rate while lower yung friend nya and the reason was preferred client daw bff nya.

After that, dun sya deposit until pagpasok nya mega-assist na sa kanya and several offers of CCs na.  Ayaw nya na ng kahit anong service.  He just wanted to prove a point.

^^ yes sis, meron talaga silang Preferred Clients and even their own lane din sa mga BPI banks. parang SM advantage lang un, kapag matagal ka na sa kanila and madalas nagagamit yung card mo maaangat ka sa Prestige. I don't think it's descrimination or anything.

Just my POV though :)

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: freelancer_babe on February 26, 2013, 11:06:49 am
^ The 250k is not necessarily the amount you need to be a preferred client. And it doesn't have to be in a single savings/checking/time deposit account.

Even other products count - such as investments in UITFs and SDAs.

The bank total the amount placed in these products.

Depending on the location of the branch - some branches have lower amount of total deposit and investments (as low as P250k in provincial banks) ... Others require higher total amount to invited as a  preferred client (to millions such as that in Ayala branch).

And there are people who have high deposit and investment placements but are not yet on a preferred client status. By invitation lang kasi yun.

wala ata.

Hmm... pero nakaka curious.. why get preferred client status?

Almost 1,000.

Merong BPI express assist: https://www.mybpimag.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=982&Itemid=1146

Yun nga lang, by invitation talaga.

Yup right, that's another issue too.

Familiar enough, but not too close with the branch staff. Good chances na yun of getting an invite kasi kahit papano nakikita ka nila madalas.

I've been with bpi for 5 years and i am very happy with their service kaya transfer ko iyong ibang accounts sa kanila. No long lines and i can go there kahit di pa banking hours. The manager was very accomodating gwapo pa hehe kaya saya magpunta ng banko hehe.  Saka pag may event , invite nila ako.Even pag fill up ng deposit slip sya gumagawa ako nga iyong nahihiya. I give goodies during christmas season sa branch and don sa lagi nag aasikaso sa akin. A thank you gift

I was with bdo and pnb before super tagal magdeposit or withdraw kahit fastlane na. I went there in shorts para magopen ng account para di masyado obvious that i have 100k and since malapit lang sya sa house.

call the bank hotline to have it waived.

Note: This mostly works kung parati kang nag-cha-charge sa CC. Also in situations where you own other CCs.

Yung iba raw, kailangan idaan sa sindak. As in threatening to cut the card if the annual fee is waived. Baka totohanin yan ha, so be sure you are willing to part with the card just in case they are firm on it.

But I've heard stories rin na hindi kinailangan ng sindak to waive the fee.

Some were also able to waive the fee through email, and not through calling the hotline.

I have a BPI direct, payroll atm sya namin kaya walang maintaning balance. But since umalis na ako sa company na yun, yun pa rin ginagamit ko as my savings and investment account. Yun din yung ginagamit ko ngayon as my payroll account  sa new work ko. Usually for BPI Direct, it still under BPI ([textspeak!] Main talaga) unlike BPI Family Savings, under sya sa BPI Umbrella but you cannot deposit sa kanila if you have BPI Direct account.

Maxi Saver naman has a higher interest yield compared to their initial deposit. But I would suggest, instead of getting maxi saver, why don't you invest your 10k, kung di mo pa naman kailangan [textspeak!] pera. You can talk to their financial advisor para malaman mo kung ano yung best na investment plan na bagay sa yo. You can also apply for RSP (Regular Subscription Plan), instead of putting P1000 (example) per month sa saving's account mo, you can invest it in buying additional stocks/ unit pandagdag sa current investment mo. Kikita ka pa ng mas malalaki compared to regular savings account.

Me, I have Maxi saver and savings account. Would like to get some of their UITF and mutual funds din but need to get some thoughts pa.

What investments and other products of BPI do you think are good to keep? Heard their index fund is doing good?

I love BPI!! Very convenient because of their EOL especially for OFWs like me at friendly ang staff nila unlike sa BDO based on my experience.

just recently subscribed to their MF and UITF investment  :)

There's already a thread for BPI mga sisses. And yes, people are generally saying na ok ang customer service nila compared to other banks.

Although I find most of BPI customer service personnel sa offices nila approachable and nice, I have complaints sa mga online facilities nila.

Pahirapan naman kasi tawagan ang BPI hotline during the day (I know it's easier to call at late at night) pero meron lang kasi talagang mga concerns na during day time lang pwedeng i-handle.

Di rin useful sa akin yung facebook app nila http://bpibankersonline.com/ ... you can only inquire general questions but they cannot really check into your account. If something is wrong with your account they will direct you to their busy hotline instead.

Like, I was asking them this: "saan napupunta ang payment ng bill kung nagkamali ng lagay ng account number ng merchant"? They assumed that something was wrong with my account and I have to call the hotline. LOL. "What-if scenario" lang naman yun. They should have answered it like: "Your unclaimed funds for that particular bill will be returned to your account after 3 working days. If in case you have not received those funds, please call the BPI hotline."

I also asked a couple more questions in that site that doesn't require them to look into my account, but I wasn't very satisfied at the answers. The answers are just similar to that above. Too generic ang answers nila and they seem to assume that I don't know/use their products yet.

I think I have mentioned before that if there's something wrong with your BPIexpressonline account, you still have to call the BPI hotline? Going to the bank doesn't help (courteous and polite as they are) and they will just let you use their phone to call up the hotline. So you might as well stay at home and call up the busy hotline.

It would be better for BPI to provide messaging facility or a live chat, or even both inside the BPIExpressonline account. Since this is inside the account, the customer service should be able to check the status of the account so that they could give appropriate answers to questions. Calling them via the cellphone is expensive, I heard.

I've messaged them lots of times and they have satisfactorily answered my questions well - account related problems or general queries.

I was shocked they cannot handle this type of question.

Go ask the Manager sis, or go directly to the manager or Low counter staff. They can handle this type of concerns than tellers.

Post by: freelancer_babe on June 05, 2013, 09:54:22 pm
^ Yup sis, those kinds of questions are the ones handled by the low counter staff up to the manager. Sa experience ko most tellers can also answer the questions well.

Yun nga lang, I transact more using their cash deposit ATMs and online banking than actually visiting the branch.

^ePrepaid user here - since November. I've so far only used it for small purchases (under P1000) online, and it has never failed me.

I've forgotten if I had to enroll it in BPIexpressonline myself or if it just showed up automatically, but once in, you can just transfer money from your other BPI accounts to the ePrepaid card and use it like you would a credit card (only within the amount you transferred, of course).

The few times I used it at retail were also hassle-free. All in all, I like it very much and haven't had any problems with it yet.

kamusta ang BPI My ePrepaid card? I'm planning to get one as replacement for my Eon card.

If you still want bank account functionality, then you will still need your EON. Especially if you withdraw Paypal funds (unless you prefer to withdraw those funds using another bank account at another bank that costs you fees).

BPI myePrepaid is a good debit card, but lacks the functionality of being a bank account unlike that of EON. It's merely a cash card.

If you are OK with it and don't need such bank account functionality, then go, get BPI myeprepaid as BPI has generally better customer service in case something goes wrong.

Hello mga sis,

I need help. I have a BPI secured credit card. It's only been 6 months. I have a savings account with BPI.

What i don't understand is that, i recently withdrew 3k in my SA account, pero 23k pa rin naman ang CL ko? Now, Im not sure if secured CC nga un binigay sa akin or regular CC.

Help naman po..

That's weird. You shouldn't be able to withdraw your 3k kung naka-hold ang savings mo.

Kasi kung naka-secured CC ka, the bank will require you to open a separate passbook savings account or a time deposit account containing that hold-out account. You cannot withdraw that amount na naka-hold.

Baka sinuwerte kang ma-issue-han ng regular CC?

Yup, thanks sis! Just called the bank earlier.. The call felt like forever..

Hi mga sis, I have a BPI easy saver account for 2 or 3 years, question ko lang, hindi ba nagooffer ang BPI ng cc na hindi na maghahanap pa ng mga requirements like payslip etc, yung tipong ibabase na nalng nila kung approve ba or hindi sa laman ng account mo since hindi naman nagagalaw yung account at lalo pang pinapalaki yung laman nun. And ano yung Secured card thingy? TIA

Gusto ko sana ienrol un CC sa bills payment to earn more points.. Sayang din un points eh..

Sis, read this post, your questions about secured CC's are all answered there... :)

http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,261282.0.html

And, I think all banks need an assurance na mababayaran mo un mga ichacharge sa CC, kaya tinawag na "credit" card.. pero, as I understand, may mga banks na may pre-approved for CC.. Pero kung ikaw mismo ang mag-aapply for CC, you need to give them a payslip or your latest ITR.

I think it's not possible to use the CC for bills payment - in BPI.

As in large, in the six digits. Some banks may have higher requirements for one to be preferred - in the millions, especially if they are situated in places like BPI Ayala. Deposits doesn't necessarily have to be in savings, checking or time deposits. Kasama rin ang ibang products like UITFs and MFs nila.

Those huge deposits or investments should also be sitting on the account for quite sometime rin. Several months or even years.

And this is by usually by invitation. It isn't something to apply for, but you may ask your branch of preference kung ano ang specific amount of deposit/investment ng branch para maging preferred.

Hi mga sis, just curious lang.  Ano po ba yung qualification to become a preferred client ng BPI.  I know na maraming freebies and cool benefits kug preferred client ka.  ;)

You must meet their criteria such as the following:
- have a deposit account with an ADB of 300k thereabouts
- use 4 of their products (SA, CA, CC, TD, loan, investment any combination).

But not because you meet the criteria, automatic preferred client ka na. You still have to be "invited". Or you can request pero subject to approval daw.

Personally, ang advantage lang nito sakin is the shorter line and the RM.

Help mga sis, does anyone know the contact info ng BPI Manager or officer who I can talk to so I can complain one of their products (BPI Direct Maxi Saver.) Hindi kasi nagbibigay ng interest every end of the month and I had it checked via 89-100, and wala nga daw interest dapat meron daw so they will send a complaint daw to BPI direct regarding this matter.  I did not expect na BPI is may ganitong system failure or discrepancy...i don't have any idea what causes this, manual ba nila nilalagay ang interest or may automated system sila? Anyone has experienced the same issue? Buti na lang naisipan kong i-check.

I'm just worried na hindi pala reliable ang system nila? I mean this isn't just a minor issue kumbaga if you open a TimeDeposit account with them, di pala sure na nilalagyan ng interest yun lagi unless you always check it from time to time. So I think dapat malaman sana ng high ranked officer yung ganitong case instead of just informing yung mga reps.

I have a BPI CC since 2004 pero they still charge annual fees - kasi I see it in the billing statement.

Pero never pa ako nagbayad. Mine just gets waived when I call their hotline. Then another line would appear in my billing statement saying that the fee was waived.

I think this is just for recently issued CC accounts?

One of my colleague before di niya napansin nung nag withdraw siya ng salary niya over the counter (wala pa kasi yung atm niya, new employee) may siningit yung teller na 1000 bill na fake, nung ibabalik niya deny si teller na sa kanya galing.

sakit talaga yan ng BPI ever since.

Hindi naman malaking pera nawala, but still, money is money kahit P400 lang yun.

Nung midnight, pauwi na ako, naisip ko baka kulangin money ko so I tried to withdraw 100 from PS BANK sa Teleperformance, Mandaluyong.

Sobrang tagal niya nagprocess. Then after 1 minute yata, sabi sa screen, di daw ma-process.
So lumipat ako sa kabilang atm (I forgot if it was BPI, basta yung sa left side). Insufficient balance.

I don't have landline. I visited their website. Bakit kakaltasan nila???

I tried to search for their customer service email address, pero wala sa website.

Gaano ba kalaki ng kinakaltas ng machine every transaction pag di mo sariling bank? Mga 4 times lang naman ako gumamit.  :-\

Just had my worst experience with bpi last thursday after 9 years.nagwithdraw ako sa atm nila ng pambayad sa monthly amortization ng sasakyan namin which is more convenient for me since im pregnant and malapit lang iyong atm nila sa house and sa bank sa pagbabayaran ko.usually what i do pag malaking amount, hinahati ko sya into 3 withdrawals but that time nagmamadali ako so full amount iyong winidraw ko. sa sobrang swerte ko ni isang cash walang nilabas iyong machine.i just heard iyong parang nagbibilang  ng  money iyong machine pag magwithraw then bumukas iyong labasan ng cash then sumara ulet but walang perang lumabas.i checked the balance but sa sobrang swerte ko nga hindi ko macheck kasi down ang system nila that day.but i took and kept the reciept of my transactions.pagkauwi ko around 5pm ichecked my account online and luckily ok na ang system nila so nakita ko na may nabawas nga sa money ko.i called their hotline immediately to report/complain so sabi wait for 3 working days for them to process.so monday afternoon tumawag ako ulet kasi hindi pa rin binabalik pera ko.i was told na according sa records ng machine naglabas daw ito ng pera.so sabi ko hindi nga naglabas kasi if meron man hindi na ako magrereport sa kanila.i even told the guard na nakaduty dun sa ibang bank (nasa harap kasi nila ang atm ng bpi) na hindi naglabas ng money iyong atm. ininform nga nya ako na mejo nagkakaproblema nga daw iyong bpi.so sabi ng nakausap ko sa customer service wait daw ulet ng 3 days to investigate further kung ano ba talaga ang nangyari.nakakainit lang ng ulo.im still hoping and praying na sana mabalik nila ang pera  ko at malaking amount din iyon at mahirap kitain.instead na maging convenient sakin ang lahat mas naging stressfull pa.sakit sa bangs.

Question po, If meron savings account with ATM card.. Pwede bang never ko gamitin pang withdraw yung ATM card ko at lagi akong over the counter?

hindi ba madedeactivate ang account kapag ganon? Ang pagkakaalam ko kasi for as long as meron kang transaction either withdraw or deposit hindi maclose account mo..

so is that possible na puro deposit lang ako and never ako mag wiwithdraw via ATM?

TIA

This happened to me also, was going to make my last minute shopping at MOA last Dec 24 and withdrew 5k sa BDO sa may katabi ng business center nila. Tumunog yung atm like it was gonna dispense cash so I waited after a few minutes wala pa din then nilabas na yung card ko and it said unable to process transaction daw. Fine. For some reason, i had this feeling na i need to check my balance so I did, pag kita ko, na debit ako ng 5k. My bank nga pala is security bank but I figured since BDO atm yun and may BDO bank naman sa MOA i-report ko.. I went ahead and I was told nung customer service rep dun na itawag ko daw sa hotline ng BDO and I was asked to use their phone pa nga. When I called, ayun sa security bank ko daw kelangan i-report. Good thing natago ko yung receipt with error and yung nag balance inquiry ako.

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: cody23 on January 28, 2014, 09:44:08 am
^^ I think you are referring to dormancy of account, for savings account it takes 2 years of inactivity to be flagged as dormant account. Even then the account will not be closed but will be deducted with corresponding fee per month. The only time they will close the account if the account had 0 balance for certain amount of month.

Regarding the withdrawal, unless the ATM machine is offline or you exceeded the maximum allowable withdrawal amount per day via ATM, over the counter withdrawal, while it is possible, will have a bank service fee charge, P100 i believe.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: izabelle on January 28, 2014, 10:15:56 am
^ thanks :)

i already asked the bank... For as long as meron transaction withdrawal man or deposit sa loob ng 2 years then ok daw yun.

Ayoko kasi gamitin yung ATM card ko as much as possible kasi nakakatakot mga pangyayari ngayon na nawawalan ng pera because of that. Kaya mas ok sa akin over the counter ang pagwiwithdraw. I have another ATM card na i used sa machines.. pero i put small amount lang doon para at least may mawala man hindi ganon kasakit.

Hi mga sis.. Help naman, Im using BPI blue mastercard, my SOA just came and I was charged for an annual fee of 1550...Eh nage-mail ako for reversal, ang sabi sa akin, 50% lang ang nareverse.

"We regret to hear that you have decided to cancel your BPI Credit Card. We
understand that you also filed the request for cancellation of your card
online. The request is already processed. The reversal should be reflected
on your next statement of account. May we also request you to perforate
your credit card/s for your own security. If you have existing auto-charge
arrangements with any establishment, please coordinate with them so they
may be informed of the cancellation. In addition, if you are enrolled in
our check protect facility, please get in touch with your branch of account
to update your card number.

Please be reminded of the following:
1. You can redeem your available Real Thrills Rewards Points within 60 days
from date of cancellation. Unused points will be forfeited after that
period.
2. In case you wish to have your card reactivated in the future, you may
still do so as long as the request is made within 12 months from today. You
will have to request for a new card and pay a minimal replacement fee of
P400.
"

Ayan, so my question is, icacancel ba talaga nila un card ko without calling me for confirmation?

I think it depends on how frequent you use your credit card and savings amount maintained in your account.  If you always incur finance charges and your savings is twice or thrice your credit limit, they will waive the annual charge.

I just had mine waived last week.  Every year is the same, they charge me with annual fee, I request through email to reverse it and after three days, they will inform me that the reversal will reflect the ff month.

Sometimes, they will really grant the reversal based on how large your investment is stored in their bank.
Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3
Post by: brahmzy on March 14, 2014, 05:29:41 pm
yes, confirmed, they just cancelled my card.. hahaha. although I can reactivate naman daw within 12 months after cancellation.. I think last year, I charged about Php200,000+ based on my reward points... I never paid late, I was a good payer. So, ayon, I guess maraming customers and BPI kaya madali nalang magcancel ngayon ng credit cards.. lol

It's okay, I have my other visa card nman... sa eastwest naman yun, madali naman nila nareverse annual fee two months ago.. strict siguro talaga sa BPI.

mga sis, pa-advise naman.

I recently redeemed my online survey points, and I received a check from Canada, pero ANZ ang issuing local bank.@

the problem lang is that yung name sa check is 'kulang', in the sense na 2 kasi ang first name. Ang nakaregister kasi sa survey acct ko is just may 'main name'. Kunbaga, if my full first name is Marie therese, ang nakalagay sa check therese lang.

Madedeposit ko ba sya sa BPI savings acct ko which is under my FULL name? Hopefully sana may makasagot :)

Agree! Been using their cash deposit machines for several years now. Very convenient talaga :)

Downside lang ay kung minamalas na sira o down o kaya nakain yung bills (happened to me once but they returned the money upon investigating on the case I reported).

I love BPI for all their innovations: online banking, those deposit machines, and BEA. Jusko, kung sa ATM nga lang eh pagkatagal-tagal na, what more dun sa touch screens -- masmabilis pa yung old way of writing on a slip. Malas talaga if you fall in line behind someone who doesn't know how to use the machine.

^BPI Get Started is okay, I guess, for a savings account. Big plus is the free life insurance up to age 70. Unlike a BPI Direct Save-Up account, you get an ATM and/or a passbook and can do over-the-counter and ATM transactions. But the maintaining balances are high compared other savings accounts -- 25k for ATM and 75k for passbook.

BPI increased my credit limit ng 25% without me asking for it. Nag-text na lang bigla haha.

Pre-approved BPI Blue Mastercard ang card ko na nakuha ko a year ago. Not sure if because good payer ako and never missed a due date.

So far so good ang experience ko sa credit card nila. They're not that generous though compared sa ibang banks in terms of rebates/freebies and medyo umay na ko sa Jollibee and Chowking hihi.

So nag-create ng incident report and mag-tetext na lang daw sa 'kin ang BPI within 3 banking days kung ano result ng request ko.

So tumawag ako sa hotline.

3. A few days after the call - nakita ko na sa expressonline yung reversal ng annual fee.

:D

Nope.

Sa situation mo, ATM account ang kailangan mo and not Passbook.

Beats the purpose of the convenience of using a credit card. If you want PIN based, debit card na lang.

I super agree! Pila talaga. I think they gained a lot of customers kasi sobrang okay talaga yung mga features nila - yung cash deposit via ATM, check deposit via ATM, pati yung BPIexpressonline daming magagawa dun. Pero hindi sila nag-dagdag ng staff to accommodate the increase in volume of their customers.

I have that e-credit card and it recently got used fraudulently. I put a limit of 20,000 on it, pero kahit nag-exceed na yung purchases sa amount na yun, pumasok pa rin yung mga transactions (kaya tuloy medyo malaki yung amount nung fraudulent transactions, but thankfully ni-reverse naman nila), so I don't really think it's that safer than the regular card.

^as long as yung Average daily balance nya for a month is not below minimum. usually they take it on the first 5 days of the next month.

example. average daily balance (ADB) mo dapat 3000.

on january 1-5, balance nya is 5k
so yung balance nya from january 6-20 is 1k na lang.
u need to make sure na when u deposit on january 21, dapat mas malaki sa 3k, or bigger if u can

kasi BPI will add your daily balance, then average it in 30/31days, dapat total nyan is not less than 3k, since yun yung maintaining balance mo

now, if super below na balance mo like 100, tapos nagkaltas pa si BPI ng 250, u owe them 150, so the account will be closed na.

For those with BPI cc, there's no charge naman if i make multiple payments within a month right?

What I've been doing kasi is I charge the card, then once the charge is reflected, i pay it na without having to wait for the statement of account.

With my Metrobank kasi there's a 20 peso charge if you go over 2 payments in one month.

BPI just called me yesterday about BPI Gold credit card, sabi waived daw ang annual fee for the first year.

this will be my first time na magkaron ng credit card just in case maapprove

question, if i make a purchase using the credit card, zero interest, example i bought 10k item 2 months to pay. if i pay 5k a month, then wala akong babayaran na interest? o meron pa?

Title: Re: BPI - Thread 3

question, if i make a purchase using the credit card, zero interest, example i bought 10k item 2 months to pay. if i pay 5k a month, then wala akong babayaran na interest? o meron pa?

I was offered din 2 years ago. Wag ka.. waived ang 1st year annual fee, pero after a year, yung unang days ng ika 2nd year mo dun ka sisingilin. so parang binayaran mo rin yung 1st year mo na sa last month ka lang nagbayad. Annual fee is about 2250 pesos yata.

Yes you can. So make sure lang na wala kang pending installments sa CC mo pag dumating yung day na yun kasi mahihirapan ka icancel dahil kailangan mo bayaran din agad. At least alam mo so prepared ka.

So less than a year mo talaga magagamit. June pa din ang considered na next fiscal year so be warned lang.

My nakaexperience na ba ito? Deposited 100 pcs 1k bill to ATM deposit machine. Nagsisimula palang magcount nag-error agad yun machine and wala na nilabas na bill. I forgot 99 pcs lang dapat pero it's not my 1st time nasobra lagay ko. Hindi inaaccept ng machine pag 100 pcs but this time kinain nya. I'm so worried baka iclaim nila wala pumasok sa machine as I don't have receipt or proof sana may cctv.

It's for medical expenses pa naman ng relative ko nastroke. 3 days straight na I can't sleep dahil need na yun money  :(

Call nalang din muna your branch of account para sure.

Does anyone know how their online funds transfer work? Last time I checked about 2 years ago, I need to send a physical signed copy of recipient accounts I need to transfer to and they need to approve before I can transfer. Sobrang hassle lang for someone who lives overseas. And yung online banking kasi na nakasanayan ko, you can enroll a recipient agad and transfer agad.

I wonder if this has now changed, if pwede ko na gawin ang direct enrollment and transfer. Parang ang backward kasi ng Pilipinas if hindi pa rin pwede until now.

Parang mas secured BDO dahil dual log-in nagtetext pa ng code bago ka makapasok online than BPI at MB.

MB is doing this on a regular basis itong BPI one time big time.

Update lang and rant na din.  :-\ I was able to open an account with BPI to subscribe to their BPI Philippine High Dividend Equity Fund. I have an account with BPI Family Savings but since magkaiba daw sila, pinagopen nila ako ng BPI Savings Account para maging settlement account ko with them. Hinahabol ko yung pagbagsak ng market but since nagkakaprob ako sa schedule ko to visit the bank last Dec22 lang ako nakapagopen which is supposedly Dec19 sana. Ang consequence ko for not having BPI Savings Account is that 1 day processing ng settlement account ko then the next day pa ang subscription sa UITF. I accepted that naman and naging thankful pa ako kasi from Dec19 to Dec22, bumaba pa ang market.

My concern now is this...i got my ATM card today, Dec28. and I just found out na hindi pala sila nakapagsubscribe ng investment ko last week. System Maintenance DAW. Offline DAW. huhuhu. They will TRY DAW to subscribe tomorrow with tomorrow's rate na and i told them na sana maipasok nila yung investment ko right away. And hoping ako na hindi na umabot for 2017 rate (last working day for 2016 tom). Pataas na ulit ang market ngayon, we will never know what will happen but i am kinda certain na "window dressing" period na. haaays. nakakadisappoint lang. I know hindi million ang ipinasok ko sakanila pero hindi kasi nila naideliver ng maayosyung request ko. :(

Isa pa, palaging down ang online site nila. hays.

I got this kind of dillema with BPI,, my balance got into negative due this ATM transaction that I cancelled but still posted on my account. The negative balance ate my salary and left me nothing but 1000 pesos. I trusted bpi' s process not until this conversation with one of their agents. I felt humiliated in trying to get my own money . Kulang na lang sabihin nya na I'm trying to get money from them. Now I just figured out na to get this done, I need to go beyond. I just followed annn 's suggestion , I emailed BSP. other suggestions for my next step?

Sa branch ka nag file ng claim? O sa hotline?
Pati manager ayaw tanggapin?

May form pina fill up at na credit naman.

Basta nasa iyo mga pruweba at ikaw nasa tama, ilaban mo talaga yan sis.

Nangyari na rin sa akin to last year. Nag withdraw ako ng 10k sa PS bank using my BPI atm. Buti nalang me internet that time yung cellphone ko. Saturday or Sunday yata yun sa I had to wait for the next banking day.
Title: Re: help with BPI atm not dispensing cash but charge my account :(
Post by: EllaBratin on February 08, 2017, 10:27:24 am

The following day the money was credited back.

Anyone who has BPI credit card and gusto na ipacut? Never been used pero may dues maybe due to annual fee. Need ba bayaran yon? And is it legit kung eemail yong 10digits number card thru email?

Thanks sis. 16 digits pala yon. Need pa kaya bayaran yong annual fee? Hindi naman ginamit yong card?

^ I think you have to call the hotline to have your card cancelled BEFORE ka macharge ng annual fee. I haven't tried it myself pero I have plans of cutting two of my cards to simply things.

Double check lang wala ka nang pending installments and transactions before calling the hotline.

As far as I understand the annual fee is charged at the start of the year when you will use it, not the end.

I just want to rant, ang mahal ng bank certificate fee ng BPI P200, while sa ibang branch is P100 lang.   Sobra naman sila mag charge.  >:(

^ nung nagrequest ako bank cert last January, 150 sya sa BPI Serendra. Tapos 50 per page for the bank statement. Ang mahal nga.
But need ko kasi for my visa.
Buti na lang nakuha ko same day at wala masyado pila sa branch na yan.

Samantala dito sa Aus, online pwede mo download bank cert and bank statements free of charge. Print mo lang.

Ang mahal naman pala ng bank print outs when that service should be free. Agree na sa ibang bansa, we usually get for free simple services like bank statement printing and certification. Maybe if more people will complain to BPI about this, instead of us just accepting it, then maybe they?d know it?s not acceptable to charge their depositors.

I need it for my visa application, naloka lang ako kasi ang mahal. Sana sa BDO na lang pala ako nagrequest but I have to transfer funds muna. For just a piece of paper, ang mahal masyado.
