I'm a fan of Vitamin C serums. in fact any product containing vitamin c since they're really effective for me.
I have used plenty of Vitamin C serums na in my lifetime and I will try to mention them all here.
1.
Obagi Professional C-Serum 10% - this one is my HG. i have been using it for 5 years na and it works not only for lightening scars but also for giving me a glowy, even complexion on my face, and small to almost non-existent pores. i think it is also responsible for making my skin firmer. for fading deep or very dark old scars, it might take some time for that but surely it aids in lessening hyperpigmentation of new spots. like if may pimple ako then it starts to dry na, instead of it becoming dark, mabilis lang sya maglighten. so i highly recommend this for maintenance, something you can use as part of your regimen for the rest of your life. plus it works well with any moisturizer, no breakouts, not sticky, no sting. downside is it is expensive here, 4k++ but it lasts me 2-3 months so sulit na din.
2.
Obagi C-Rx C Clarifying Serum - if you have bothersome dark spots that have been on your skin for quite some time, this one really works. it has prescription strength hydroquinone making it an excellent whitening Vitamin C serum. Problem lang is you cannot use this for a long time since hydroquinone has bad effects for long-term use. It's quite stronger than the Pro-C, so it stings a little but same lang halos sila ng consistency. I suggest using this first if you have old dark spots then after 3-4 months you will note a big difference na by this time, switch to the Pro-C na. mas expensive sya by a few thousands kay Pro-C.
3.
Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate - this made me breakout a little at first, but after a few uses, naging okay na din naman. it works as promised, reducing fine lines on my face and has somehow faded newer dark spots. but for older ones, medyo tough, i can't say it really worked for that since we naturally slough off dead skin naman in 28 days or so. I think i have used mga 5 bottles of this until I stopped because it kind of irritated my skin, there were some redness on some areas. it's moisturizing, but too much product will cause you to have dryness and sting. also pag napadami ka ng lagay, it causes patches underneath makeup. for its price, medyo mahal i think 3k++ here.
4.
The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules - i like this but i did not repurchase after three jars because ang bilis ko sya nauubos. one capsule is not enough for my entire face and neck, i feel it is kulang. so isang jar half a month ko lang nagagamit, and it's also a bit expensive for just 15 day of use. TBS goes on sale very often but then hindi madalas kasama the Vitamin C range sa sale. for dark spots, it helps to fade them especially light spots, but then like i said i cannot identify any significant change since lumalabas i only used this for more than a month. it's also very moisturizing and gives me a nice glow. another low is that i wish hindi na lang sya capsule type, it stresses me to do all the cutting, then squeezing all the products out.
5.
The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost - the SAs in TBS say this is their Vitamin C serum but I refuse to believe it is a serum. I think it's a primer of some sort. so it's more of a makeup product than a skincare product i think. Anyway, it's nice and smooth on the skin, gives me a dewy glow, mattifies and evens out skin prior makeup, so i like it. For dark spots, i cannot say much if it really lightens them but i think it's not as potent as a real Vitamin C serum. go for the capsules and use them together i suggest.
6.
Ciracle Vitamin Source C-20 - it works for moisturizing and fading spots gradually, plus it's cheap. 1k++ lang sya. but i cannot use this under makeup. it comes as thick for me, and sticky even if i use a few drops lang. it also stings. i am not also a fan of the fragrance, amoy fruit juice sya. plus it stains clothing, even my hands and mahirap sya tanggalin, so i think it has food color or something. if these are not issues for you naman, this one is a good product because it works as promised. it gives me a nice glow as well. for its price pwede na.
7.
Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - used two bottles of this but it was so slow in showing results. some dark spots have faded but not entirely while i was using this together with the other clearly corrective products, so you see i was expecting more. it's also a bit irritating like the powerful-strength concentrate, it gave me some redness and sting. it's pricey too. so better try other serums first lalo na if you're just starting.
8.
Dermax Hyal-C Serum - got this from Skin Station. it's cheap less than a thousand yata that time, mga 4 years ago. sabi sa ibang reviews this works for them, but for me, nah. i threw it away.
there you go. sorry mahaba hehe. i cannot recall all of the serums i used na so these are just some of them. but if you want to know more about serums, i think the serums thread will help.
