for salad dressing I use olive oil and malt vinegar tapos salt and peper lang. okay to for green salad as in mga dahon dahon ang not the lettuce ha.

then minsan pag feel ko ng medyo manamis namis i do olive oil, sweet basalmic vinegar then salt and pepper din.

minsan olive oil  and lemon with salt and pepper lang din. di kasi masyado mahilig sa cream sauces si hubby.

minsan may ginaya ako  sweet basalmic vinegar then strawberries naman. pwede to pang dressing pwede din pang dessert style add mo lang ng konting sugar pag pang dessert. sarap!

i like the salads from goolai. of course roka salata is on top of my list!

the best type of greens imo is salad time's mixed greens and arugula. serve it with peaches or mangoes, julienned carrots, cherry tomatoes, cheeses, leftover chicken, and nuts, super yummy na!

for dressing, here are the fave at home:
- mango vinegarette
- strawberry vinegarette
- bleu cheese dressing
- ranch dressing (can be used a dip for chips as well hehe)
- clara ole asian dressing (my fave)

I love veggies and I love salads. :)

My favorite salads from restaurants:

1.  Cyma's roka salata
2.  Sakura and Haiku's sakura salad
3.  Fluke's caesar salad
4.  Antonio's fresh green salad
5.  CPK's chopped bbq salad
6.  Manila Pen's green salad with smoked salmon and fresh prawns in dill dressing - this was our first course during our wedding reception; for me, Manila Pen's smoked salmon is the best. :)

Salad dressings (bottled) that I like:

1.  Bragg's ginger and sesame dressing
2.  Kraft's Italian vinaigrette
3.  365 by Whole Foods's organic balsamic vinaigrette
4.  Gourmet's herb cheese dressing and fresh herb vinaigrette

* I make my own blue cheese dressing, which my husband and my friends really like.  I got the recipe here in GT (courtesy of quixotic). ;)

I agree with hunny_ally, I love Salad Time's mixed greens and caesar greens. :)

When I make salad at home, I usually mix the following:

mixed salad greens
cherry tomatoes (or local tomatoes), sometimes, sun-dried tomatoes if I have them on hand
cucumber, sliced in rounds or julienne
carrots, shredded
grapes, apples, oranges
nuts like pistachio, walnut (masarap pag caramelized) or almonds
bacon bits, grilled or boiled chicken chunks

^ Goolai salads are available at convenience stores in Petron gas stations - well, sa La Vista and Blue Ridge, as far as I know. :)

Has anyone tried Comida Rica salad dressings?  Matagal na kong curious about this home-grown brand.

^ Sis, sarap ng roka salata, promise.  May caramelized walnuts - eto ang pinakagusto ko about it.  Matrabaho mag-caramelize ng walnut, tricky kasi kung malakas ang apoy, hindi masarap.  Tapos, yung dressing di ko talaga makuha ang timpla nila on my own kaya binabalik-balikan ko. :)

Ang mga anak ko, nagustuhan yung pasta na may prawns and feta cheese sa Cyma. :)

Husband ko, favorite ang mixed meat gyro naman.

i used to really hate salad...i don't like mayonnaise kasi ..but since i am slowly converting into healthy eater, i have been looking into salads lately. :)

my faves so far are--
italiianni's insalada mediterraneo (moa branch)
bizu's chicken waldorf salad (yoghurt ang dressing!)
pasto's al pasto (light rasberry vinegraitte)

we saw a lot of salad varieties when we went to shopwise cubao yesterday, and bf says we could try doing a light salad lunch on weekends.
will try goolai when we go back! :)

question sisses, same lang ba taste ng mga bottled dressing sa mga restaurants? what can you recommend for those who hate mayonnaise?  :P tia.

^ Salad dressing made from scratch is always better than the bottled variety.

If you hate mayo, go for oil and vinegar based dressings.  Incidentally, mayo is not usually a component of salad dressings.  You have oil, acid (such as lemon, balsamic vinegar, wine vinegar, etc.) or oil, cream (heavy cream, sour cream, etc.) plus other ingredients.

me too.. I hate mayo kaya always ako oil-based dressing or if hindi maiwasan na mayo-based yung dressing, super konti lang nilalagay ko.
