^sis, based on my experience highly recommended ko na rin hotel sintra sa macau & golden crown guest haus sa hk. ganda ng location, malapit lang pareho sa mga tourist spots pwedeng lakarin & madali lang transpo.  ;)

eto yung plan namin: 5 countries, 6 cities
 Sing-KL-BKK-Siam Reap-Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh
w/ a mix of land and air travel
nice! gusto ko din yan. magkano budget and how many days?

kahit BKK-KL-SG lang muna. ang hirap lang, wala akong kasama..

^ Kayang kaya mo yan kahit walang kasama ;) I've traveled solo in those cities and never felt threatened or anything. They're all so tourist friendly pa, so it's very easy to go around. Not to mention the locals are all friendly pa.

Hi, everyone!

My boyfriend and I went on an 11-day backpacking trip across Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, we we went to Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Ho Chi Minh. We had the time of our lives! DIY lang din ang trip namin, thanks to travel forums and travel blogs. Our budget was P35k per person but we were under budget, dami pa natira sa pera namin that we can use for future trips (or our wedding, hehe). Pero matipid naman kase kami. We stayed at budget hotels lang, mostly less than P1k per night.

I'll review the hotels we stayed in, as well as post entries about our trip on my blog: http://guwapa.blogspot.com/search/label/backpacking%202009 .

I want to give back, hopefully this can help others who are planning a similar trip. Medyo busy pa, di pa ako nakakapag-update, I'll post in the days or weeks to come. Kayang-kaya talaga ang DIY SouthEast Asian trip, it's much better and cheaper than getting a packaged tour, saktong research lang talaga kailangan.

^^ Wow, love your blog. I bookmarked it for future reference.  :)

Btw, sis, I saw passport holders last Monday at The Ramp, Crossings.  It's not exactly like the pic you posted in your blog but similar enough.

i wanna do this too, this year sana, but i haven't booked any flight yet so mukhang di na matutuloy ngayong 2009.

^ Yan ang gagawin ko next year with my friend :) First time niya mag backpacking, nakabili kami ng super cheap na fare nung sale ng Cebu Pacific. Mauuna ako sa kanya ng ilang days sa Saigon. I'll go to several cities muna before going back to HCMC to meet her and to explore. Then from there, Siem Reap na. Instead of going back to Vietnam, we'll cross the border to Thailand then fly from BKK back to Manila :)

How about March 27-Apr 3/4.  I think this is the Holy Week period.  Tama ba?   :)
