I subscribe daily to philstar news online and I got this news about UK aid for yolanda victims ends in manila shops. Hindi ko alam pano ito idescribe: nakakapanghilakbot? Inhumane? Extreme stupidity? Greed and corruption, at its worst? I think all of the above, and more.

http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2013/12/09/1265888/food-aid-uk-ends-manila-shops

Btw, sino dito nakanood ng post-disaster assessment ng congress? Hind kasi ko nakanood but based on discussions from other thread, mayor romualdez actually admitted on the issue na lumabas na dati, about roxas telling him that "he is a romualdez, and the president is an aquino.." Tsk tsk tsk...

I saw it sis..and yes..Roxas daw said to him "You have to remember, we have to be very careful because you are a Romualdez and the President is an Aquino."...if this is true..then we have a very immature president..with how he treated Arroyo and Corona then hindi malayo na totoo din ito..grabe..and sorry..i believe Mayor Romualdez and mismo mga tao na ng mga taga tacloban ang nagsasabi na totoo ito..

mar roxas denied that he said such

pero theres a video evidence of him saying exactly what romualdez said he said.

mr palengke is mr barbero pala

super liar. and super demonyo

so what kung romualdes at aquino, what about the last names of the victims? mr roxas i hope your soul burn in hell. same with the people who thinks like you.

siguro kaya we have experienced yolanda because the filipino people have become really wicked. mar roxas has no heart, same with all that wears the yellow ribbon.

disclaimer: not a fan of roxas, noynoy or romualdez..just got it from the fb:
 Full video. Transcript statement:
Roxas: "You have to understand you are a Romualdez and the President is an Aquino. He has to be very careful. The national government, we have to be very careful just taking over because the President does not want to be misconstrued na nang-aagaw ng kapangyarihan.”
Not defending Roxas. Just saying it's cut. And yes he said bahala na kayo, but context (or lack of it) can make things seem worse than they are.

still, his every move is based on political agenda. so what if the mayor is a romualdes? why not take over if they really wanted to help, why be cautious of family names involve? imho, he said that trying to justify the written churva that he wants from romualdes.

yun nga yung point ko sis. fear based nga kasi sa sobrang daming kups, an innocent move can be fatal in the future kasi madaming kups na magtatake advantage later. sa sobrang dumi na ng environment, hindi na wastong logic ang nasusunod, kundi kung ano ang wasto para sa politics.

naranasan ko na din yan in a smaller scale. my lolo's business was failing. Tita was rushed to the hospital sa dami ng problems. so my dad stepped in. wala nang papel papel. for the love of the family whatever. ayun nung positive na ulit ang flow ng business, kami ngayon siniraan. kami pa ang nawalan. and in this dog eats dog world, wala ka talagang aasahan na gandang luob mula sa ibang tao.

moral is - the Philippine environment is conducive to such *censored*. tingnan mo ang Singapore. napayaman ng partido ni Lee Kuan Yew ang bansa, so kahit anong gawin ng anumang opposing party, partido pa din ni LKY ang binoboto ng tao, kasi ang tao marunong tumanaw ng utang na loob, marunong maniwala sa totoo.

actually ganyan din nangyari sa pagtake over ng national gov't over local sa Katrina. nagkabulilyaso din sila sa "formality".

im saying lang na whether clan vs clan or LGU vs the bigger gov't unit.  either way. ganun pa din.

at ang mga tao naman, expecting first world results from a 3rd world gov't na walang pera at kurakot pa.

but ang  tao din naman may contribution sa problema hindi lang politicians. yung PAL nga eh, laging late. bottom line - mabagal gumalaw. pinoy time. like there's always tomorrow.

lahat na yan nagsama sama.

so ngayon, nangyari na ang nangyari, so paano na? who's responsible? mapaparusahan ba?

circus continues....

thats not what happened between Obama and Governor Cristy. Obama asked Cristy how they can help and they work hand in hand. there was no issues with party allies, Obama was even brought to tears when he saw the damages and hugged survivors. he didnt say "buhay pa naman kayo diba?" or "bahala kayo sa buhay nyo?" or required Cristy to write a permission to help.

seriously i dont get your logic sis, its either you lack faith in humanity thats why you think this is a dog eat dog world, or you share the same values and principles of mar roxas.

so because we are a 3rd world country its ok for our people to die in vain because of political agendas.

that's just your interpretation. you're blowing things out of proportion.

sinasabi ko lang

1.either way, whether clan vs clan or National vs local gov't, it will end up the same way. lalo na sa dynamics ng admin ni Noynoy, lagi na lang palpak. kaya nga dapat, meron separate body, fully equipped to handle such situation, independent. may sariling air, land, sea component etc para wala nang hintay hintay pa kesa clearance from this or take over from that. its a normal sop (bureaucracy), f'd up by noynoy and his people.

kaya nga ang US Army, gumawa ng SOCOM, kasi noong araw, naghihiraman sila ng tao. hindi nila alam sinong agency ang magrerespond. yung different agencies and branches of their armed forces, nag aaway away pa.  to get rid of all politics, they created one unit - SOCOM. so wala nang asa asa pa sa Navy kasi meron na silang pang dagat, and so on. they've been so successful with this eh ginaya sila ng ibang countries.

with noynoy's structure, lalong lalo na't binawasan niya ng malaki yung calamity fund noong 2011, talagang magulo. it takes big money to run and maintain a disaster program.

2. dog eats dog world naman talaga ang Philippine politics. nagpapatayan nga sila eh.
as for life, life is hard too for a lot of people. kung magka P2M medical bill ka tomorrow, who's going to help you pay? assuming you're the average person? but medyo malayo na eto sa usapan.
3. these politicians are like that because people allow it. the culture allows it.

so because we are a 3rd world country its ok for our people to die in vain because of political agendas.
--ikaw ang nagsabi neto.

people die in the the Philippines (and other 3rd world countries) because of selfish political agendas. fact yan. i never said it was okay. its just an ugly truth. and the challenge is to change this truth.

well, this is a different forum. you can always put that post on the other forum.

sis who was expecting mala first world response sa gobyerno natin. eh ang lumalabas nga walang responde dahil sa romualdez si mayor at aquino ang pangulo at kung hindi gagawa ng letter stating na the mayor is incapable and letting the national government take over completely eh bahala sila sa buhay nila. mamatay na sila dun. walang search and rescue, walang military power na pinadala. asan yung pinagsasabi ni noynoy na naka handa at naka stand by bago dumating ang yolanda. pinabayaan sila kasi romualdez si mayor. kung di pansinin ng foreign media ang lack of national gov effort di pa mag start mag linis ng bangkay.

we both agree that politics here is dirty.

and because of political agendas of mar roxas and the retard he represent. many people died and suffered in tacloban.

political agendas and clan wars should be set aside in times of disasters. we should change this. we should change the future for our kids.

lets start by believing theres a way to change. that we can improve by knowing where we went wrong and what needs to change. and the things that we know to be wrong and immoral should not be accepted as a fact of life.

fact is fact. but i never said that a fact couldn't be changed. kaya sabi ko nga na yun ang challenge. what do you do ba in a challenge? if you want to change something, you should accept first what is real. nothing wrong with a miss universe mentality as long as you're grounded.

again, its your opinion and interpretation. I'm entitled to mine too.

Letter from a Reader: Reader Refutes Allegations of Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez

Hello Mike! I just want to share with you the facts about your post on Tacloban Mayor Romualdez. I am writing to correct several inaccuracies and to set the records straight following the days before typhoon Yolanda hit our city.

Monday. There was already warning. People knew about the possibility of storm surge given the wind speed.

 Tuesday was the same thing.

Wednesday. The city administrator met with barangay captains in preparation for Yolanda. CDRRMC, presided by the city administrator, convened in the afternoon with all department heads & others involved. Preventive evacuation was in place.

Thursday. It was a warm, sunny day. It was the calm before the storm. Forced evacuation was enforced. By 3pm, evacuation center was full.

Friday. Yolanda came by early morning. It was like being inside a big washing machine, only much worse, as we did not know which direction we were being blown away. Storm surge was expected but never thought it to go 8-12 ft sometimes 15 ft high.

All through out that week, Mayor Romualdez was MIA aka Missing in Action!
He was only seen Thursday afternoon to early evening upon the arrival of Secretaries Roxas & Gazmin & attended PDRRMC meeting with City Administrator.

I only found out that he was at Patio Victoria, their family beach resort 5 days after Yolanda. Prior to that, there were stories circulating that he & his family were missing because of the damage to their house. There were reports too that they were actually in their high rise building in the city downtown.

What I'm trying to say is that Mayor Romualdez is publicity hungry & he will do anything to get publicity at the expense of his suffering people.

In one of the meetings last Wednesday, CDRRMC was reminded of the many warnings and how these precautionary measures can be executed properly. In all fairness, everybody took them to heart and listened - but NOT Mayor Romualdez - because he was NOT around.

No one could have been prepared enough for Yolanda & it angers me that instead of commandeering his ship, our Mayor chose to squeeze blood from this tragedy in order to push for his PR stint.

We have a long road ahead to rebuild our beautiful city. Armed with the strong Filipino spirit, we will rise again!

 Tindog Tacloban!

 Truthfully yours,

Leven

Mayor Romualdez is craving for publicity? e bakit hindi ko siya masyadong nakikita sa TV after the typhoon..ang palagi ko lang naman nakikita e mukha ni Roxas, Pnoy at ni Soliman. and kung dalhin man niya yung pamilya niya sa mga high storey building or sa mga mansion niya..anong masama nun? I think ganun din yung gagawin natin kung ganun din tayo kayaman nila or kung ako lang e aalis muna ako pupunta ako sa ibang bansa..hehe..Yes, there was a warning about the storm surge but nalaman lang naman natin kung ano ang storm surge after the typhoon. kahit sino hindi inakala na ang storm surge e parang tsunami na rin. sabi nga ni Mayor Romualdez sila din e biktima and there was a video di ba na nagstruggle sila to climb sa roof..

Hi guys!

I'm a Yolanda Survivor from Tacloban City. I tried to back read all your post but I can't read it all, my time is limited in reading all of your post. What I can say is that It was really such an unforgettable experience. Akala ko end of the world na.

I was so busy with my work.

Anyway, I'm just hoping na maka bangon na ang Tacloban kong mahal.

Yolanda's wrath was a lesson for us. :)

Question sis, In what way kaya magparamdam ang Mayor sa ganun kalaking sakuna?
