^ I see.. :)

H1B sis? Yung schedule a nurse visa? It's I-140 nga pala.. :D

H1B is working visa. I-140 is immigrant petition by an employer.

Medyo matagal tagal pa ang waiting period natin sis.. :) But al least may inaantay kesa sa wala di ba?
Title: Re: NURSES, where to apply for a job abroad?
Post by: Amity on September 02, 2009, 03:44:26 pm

ang nakalagay sa petition type ko is EB-3 Immigrant Petition for Nurse then ang case type sa receipt notice ko is I-140.

Which is which?  ???

^ I corrected myself na sis. I got confused din. Haha! So many codes kasi noh. But what I have too is I-140. PD ko nov 2008 lang. And retrogressed tayo ng 5 years I think..  :-\

now it's hehe.

sa australia raw mabilis ang processing kaso you have to spend almost 500K.  ???

im a nursing graduate too, and as we all know ang daming pumasa din sa recent board exam, my mom told me na mag uk na lang ako, i tried many consultancy and agency
sabi na un nga student visa [textspeak!] gagamitin mo, pero ok lang yun kasi earn and study program un, you work and study for 40 hours per week at the same time and kumikita ka na dun, 6GBP/ hour lang naman, hindi pa kasama dun yung part time ha,

pm me if interested

Btw, I attended the orientation of Queensland recruitement in Cityland Tower.

Gemal College - 3500 euro - 1 year - Higher Studies course
Stratford College - 3800 euro - 15 months - Masters in Health
Downpayment of Tuition fee is 1000 euro, installment yung balance

Processing fee is 57,000 pesos. 23k downpayment

Estimated cost of living:

70euro per week - flat rental
6 euro (not sure if daily or weekly) - food
(yan na yung pinaka tipid mode)

Once you get there with the student visa, you will attend classes for 15 hours per week (usually 2 days a week lang daw to).

Then find a part time job. Kanya kanyang diskarte daw to. U ask your school daw for a list of nursing homes where u can apply.

Minimum wage of a student is 6euro per hour. So they encourage you to have 2 part time jobs para 8 hours a day. Estimated monthly income is 96,000 pesos only. And, you wont work as a nurse ha. Nursing assistant or nursing aide to. And you can babysit daw or clean houses for a pay (like in the movie Milan).

I realized that it's gonna be a hard life.

I'm also planning on going to UK. I'm still waiting for my funding. Pag NVQ4 ata yung senior carer. Pag ONP na yung nurse assistant. For ONP, you need to have yourself assessed pa ata. I haven't talked to the agent yet. Maybe early next week.

Mga sis na may PD na, have you tried na kumuha ng tourist visa sa US? My husband and I are planning to spend our first christmas together sa US.

Hello! Balik GT ako...after a long hiatus. (Kasi nag-aral din ako...ng pag-ne-nursing!) Kaya...

Anyhoo, I am US-bound naman po pero just to share yung mga naririnig ko from friends/classmates...some of them kasi got to leave na for UK (actually 2 na silang nakaka-alis papuntang UK) Although ang ginamit nilang agency eh yung may kamahalan ata. Umabot sila ng 200K.

Pero meron ngang iba-ibang agencies yang papuntang UK (study & earn program) na yan... yung namention na sa isang message na ang office eh near SM Bicutan, i think that one offers reasonable packages. May mga classmates na din ako who inquired there & are currently being processed.

Then another classmate of mine is exploring the Australian option... meron din daw Study & Earn sa australia. BUT I do not have details yet. I got some brochures for Australian immigration (na nakuha ko sa PRC a few days ago) and it might be worth inquiring there regarding this option. Based sa mga sabi-sabi, 6 months lang daw ang program na 'to + guaranteed na ma-aabsorb ka ng hospital na pag-te-train-an mo. (Well, that is your option yata. Parang ganon. I cannot speak in absolutes kasi yan eh mga sabi-sabi nga lang...) Better if you inquire na lang din. I can give the contact infos for the Australia option for those who want it. Tapos kayo na lang mag-tanong dun ah. :) Hope this helps.

hi everyone! I am planning to go abroad too! in my case, sa dubai. ok kaya dun? My license will expire on october next year na kasi and wala pa akong experience, kahit training wala talaga! hehe

kinonsider ko rin yung australia ang UK yung study and earn pero i parang di ko na talaga carry magstudy ulit, pero i might consider parin, who knows diba?

Sa may mga kakilala na nag study and earn, ok din ba ang living nila, especially in the UK?

heard about kirsten, you will study, pay tuition of course and the bonus here is, you get to work din. Sa mga care homes nga lang. Pero atleast you will earn, dame pang study work program agencies, Dame ko na na research, pero di pako nakakapunta ng orientations, I am carefully weighing my options bago sumabak. Hirap kase talaga, I sometimes lose hope na, wala pa akong ginagawa niyan ha. hehe pero still, i keep researching lang, Good things comes to those who wait, Pray lang din ako ng pray na may okay na opportunity.

Share lang tayo dito..=)

I'm now job hunting in US. Batch '07. There are a lot of job openings for R.N.s- mostly nursing homes though. The problem is the availability of visa.

By extensive research and consulation with a lawyer, i'm sharing my thoughts on the 3 ways to work in USA via employer that is suitable for nurses (me).

I-140  - Immigrant petition to alien workers. When you get approved, you'll be able to work in USA, and your papers for immigration is also processed. In order to work within 4 months after filing, it has to be current. Right now, it is not current. I believe the last time it was current was in 2006. If you your employer will apply for this type right now, your priority date would be OCT2009. Right now, 2002 priority date is being process. So it is a 7 year backlog. My lawyer said that a law for faster processing of I-140 is being pushed in the legislation. However, we don't know when will that law be passed. Looking at the economy of USA right now, it may take some time. My lawyer suggests that the hospital should already petition me now. It means, I would have a priority date. kahit papano, nakapila nako sa mahabang pila. It is still indefinite when I'll be working.

The second type of visa..

H1B- Non-immigrant working visa. When you get approved, you are not processing your immigrant status yet. (But you can process it inthe future.) The problem with H1B visa, is that a nurse would have a specialty. The hospital/facility (who will petition you) shouls prove that you are a HIGHLY SPECIALIZED NURSE. It means you must have experience. You must prove that you are not an ordinary registered nurse. If you are a fresh grad, this can't be your option. H1B visas are available for year 2009/10 because there are still slots left.
Examples of higly specialized nurses - upper level managers, ICU nurses, nurse midwife, nurse anesthetist, PICU, ER, OR, etc. If you can prove that you are a highly specialized nurse , then you can give it a go. You must have a very good lawyer if you are going to apply for this one. Btw, premium processing of H1b takes 15 days. Processing meaning, after your employer submits your application, you'll know in 15 days if you got it or not.

Another type of visa that could be possible for me (us) is...

H1C - temporary non-immigrant working visa. this can only be valid for 3 years and non renewable. It's like the H1B. the difference is that, you do not need to be a highly specialized nurse. But you still need working experience. Only 14 hospitals in USA can use this H1C. These 14 facilities are considered as hospitals that badly needs nurses.

Just sharing my experience.

Now, if her main reason for going to the US is to take nclex, eh baka hindi sya makakuha ng visa kasi may testing center na dito sa pinas eh. Unreasonable for her to take it there pa if she can do it here. Ibang reason na lang ang sabihin nya. As for looking for a job, I am really not sure kung totoo, but I heard some na hindi na daw nagtake ng NLE but was able to pass NCLEX at nakakuha din ng employer. That was years ago nung active pa ako sa nursing forums. Ewan ko lang kung anong sistema ngayon.

I am actually asking my sister in law about it, sabi nya babalikan nya ako.
Nanghihingi kasi ako ng details, like job responsibilities, salary package, process etc., since I also have to give details to my sister who is also RN.

Hopefully within the week, I can get back to you.

Thank you and Godbless.  ;)

Ok ba jan sis? Balak din namin ng mom ko mag ganyan ako bigyan ako visa ng boss nya tas maghanap nalang ako work dun as a nurse. By the way mom is working on Bahrain. E wala pako nursing experience sabi ng boss nya magtraining
daw muna ako kasi baka nanny makuha kong trabaho. Hehe

May alam ba kayong agency na pwede magpaalis ng nurses kahit walang experience yung work as a nurse pagdating dun? Or any good agency with or without nursing experience?

Hi. Newbie po sa thread. I need help po or advice . My hubby and I together with our 2 kids have been here in UAE for I think 5 years na.. kami ni hubby 5 years and kids 3 years na and yung bunso dito ko na dineliver.. Napapaisip kasi ako na mag migrate sa ibang bansa which we can use resident benefits. Yung bunso namin 2 1/2 yrs old na 2 more years at kelangan na rin ipasok sa proper school. may mga visa consultancies dito na pwedeng makatulong pagkuha ng visa but may big question is may work kaya kaming makukuha if ever? My husband is working in a govt bank ako namn is admin sa semi govt na insurance company.

^ I was just about to ask the same question. Pero I think sobrang tagal na nitong thread.

If anyone asks you, if single ka and nurse, saan mas maganda pumunta
UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland?

Any updates for the nursing?  :)

I'm a certified nursing assistant and I found you girls talking about nursing jobs abroad. I also really want to move to the UAE and work, there are better jobs there and better salaries then here. Anong mga ahensya ang ginagamit mo upang makakuha ng trabaho sa ibang bansa? meron akong certificate for cna on this page (https://www.cnaclasses101.com/online/). ito ay mabuti?  kung gaano kabilis maglakbay sa ibang bansa para sa trabaho at doon accommodation? Thank you sisters!
