Ultrabook/Light Notebook suggestions, anyone?
« on: August 10, 2012, 04:29:54 am »
My budget is 40-50 thou, so please help. Ready na ko with the cash, I just don't think I'm sure of what to get.

I'm torn between a Samsung one or an ASUS one (kasi PINK!) pero walang ultrabook na swak sa taste ko kasi I have these specific specs/physical stuff I want:

somehow hindi grey. ok na ang black. most ultrabooks are dull grey.(dito papasok ang light notebook suggestions)
matte screen is a must. mostly outdoors ako gagamit and ayokong makita face ko sa screen.
(atm, Samsung lang ang alam kong brand na may matte screens. if you know other brands, PLEASE, PLEASE lang sabihin nyo dito)
processor must be Intel i5 up
HDD doesn't really matter, pero wag naman SSD na uber expensive. space, pwede na 250 GB I don't really store stuff.
OS not a problem, but it should be authentic Windows. I'm using Windows 8 Preview and I like it so I'll probably buy the OS soon.
videocard must be great for some games, I tend to play/read visual novels kasi.

I just dumped my Pink Sony VAIO M series cos I'm planning to get something lightweight to go with me to school. tagal ko naghintay to earn for a new one.

TIA!

cool! welcome to the mac world. ganda ng thunderbolt nyan kabit mo sa HDMI pag manonood ka ng movie. ang nakita ko lang problem sa macbook yung battery which is nasa loob pag na wear out na at gusto mo papalitan sa kanila lang pwede. ^_^

I have this delimma too, a few months ago. I thought of buying a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display. But I was mad at them with the new release of iPad 4. LOL! ;D So waited for a different kind. I ask my sister and BIL (my own geeksquad he he) and I bought this New Inspiron 15z Ultrabook.

I have it custom made too. It was just around $970. Not Bad for the features I get.

-TouchScreen
-Windows 8
-Backlighted Keyboard
-Very lightweight and portable (4.78 lbs)
-3rd Gen Core i5
-6GB Shared DDR3 Memory
-500GB HD
-32 mSATA SSD
-upto 6-7hrs battery life
-720p HD
-Rapid Start

There's 2 colors the silvermoon or red. I choose the silvermoon.

Anyway, it haven't arrived yet. So I'm anticipating it, very excited. :D

^Well I can go either way. Windows or Apple products. I have both. Doesn't matter as long as it serves it's purpose. ;D
