sis, try mo pumunta na lang sa CSA within the week.

maaga sila nag-start mag-process ng application pero nag-try lang ako pumunta last march 3; the next day interview na nya - nalaman na agad yong results same day. i was given until march 18 to enroll and kanina lang ako bumalik para i-enroll na sya.  this is for pre-school, pero baka sakali open pa rin sa gradeschool.

for K2, i paid 87,200 which includes the tuition, misc fees, books, etc. uniform di pa kasama.  pero sa official receipt, may naka-note na "subject to further changes" sa tuition fee so not sure kung may additional pa kaming babayaran.

^ Stroller bags are used from grade 1 and siguro it would depend on up to what grade your child would want to use a stroller. My daughter is in grade 2 and they have lots of books so she uses a big stroller,

They have a bookstore and they usually ask if you want to buy the school matrials (books, notebooks, folders, etc.) as a package becase they have an envelope bag that contains everything na. Siyempre, may label ng CSA lahat ng notebooks and folders and for young kds, they wouldn't want anything else but that kasi takot sila mapagalitan ng teacher if they use a different kind.

PE shirts, jogging pants, and rubber shoes with CSA labels are sold there, too.

As to the tuition fee, they usually do a mid- year adjustment which means additional payment again.

^thanks for the heads up!  So notebooks and folders have CSA stamped on it so no choice talaga but to buy from their bookstore.. Yes, I've seen the PE uniforms and you buy them there also.  What about the uniform itself? Does everyone get it from the bookstore too or is there a place where I can have the uniforms made to my kids' built?

Tuition for grade school is below P90k and for HS below P100k.

Is it advisable to get a Dasma sticker if you have friends from Dasma?

What time should you be in school to avoid the traffic rush?

^  Cars bringing their kids to school in the morning usually start arriving as early as 6:40 and it gets worse from there.  Morning classes usually start at 7:20 (or 7:30)am.

You can buy school uniforms at the Bookstore or you can have your neighborhood seamstress make it for you.  If you live in a village where there are lots of Augustinian students, chances are the seamstress know the style of the uniform already.  You can buy tela (for the skirt) from the bookstore or if the seamstress is familiar with the uniform, she knows where she can buy the cloth.

I would suggest you get Dasma stickers (intended for CSA students) for your car/s especially if you plan to be bringing your kids to school so you don't get delayed everytime you pass the guardhouse and leave your license there.  There is a separate lane for those with stickers so entering is faster.  The Dasma sticker is different from the CSA school sticker which you also have to get if you plan on entering the school grounds and parking there regularly.  Without the CSA sticker, the guards will not let you in through the school gates and you have to wait outside the gates where parking is not really encouraged.

nag reminisce tuloy ako kasi I attended kinder to HS at CSA makati.. we didnt need stickers before to enter the school grounds.. dasma sticker lang ang requirement nila.. and school bus kami..

we also used to have a patch on our uniforms where our names are printed.. meron pa din ba nito?

i had a problem with strollers when we were in gradeschool kasi walang elevator.. we were on the 2nd floor nung grade 4 kami.. it was difficult to drag our strollers.. and i am guessing by this time all the rooms are fully airconditioned.. when I left nung high school ako, our rooms were already airconditioned.

Just called CSA and here's the Tuition Fee for Prep:

Annual = P89774
Semi-Annual = P62751 + P30000

The fee includes miscellaneous and supplies. But early ang enrollment nila. They only give you 1 month to decide after your kid passes the exam.

So if you have a CSA sticker, do you still feel the need to get an additional Dasma sticker so that you can pass through any gate?

Does anyone know of a seamstress who sews the CSA uniform preferably in the Mandaluyong-Makati area?  I would prefer to have my kids' uniforms made to fit than off the rack.

What about extra curricular activities in school? Do they offer piano or voice lessons?  Are any of your kids a part of the varsity team?

@yapeegurl - wow! Loyalty medal awardee ka. Haha! Pareho pala tayo but I know I am older than you dahil nung umalis ako ng CSA HS, wala pang aircon.  :). They have name patches pa rin. Yellow patch for grade school and white for HS. Still no elevators.  The quadrangle has been renovated.

@domestic diva - we still got the Dasma sticker to escape the hassle of falling in line.  Ot's a nightmare when there's a school event and the parents are requested to be there.  CSA now offers special music and PE classes where your child can choose if he wants to take guitar, violin, piano, or voice lessons during music class and swimming, badminton, taekwondo (from what I remember) during PE class. Of course, you pay an additional fee for the special lessons but it is nice to have that incorporated in the school hours na instead of extra lessons during weekends.

^that's great to hear, flexusob! it's like an elective. do you inquire about this before enrolling or do they send out forms when school starts?

do you know any who has taken the special filipino class?  i'd like to hear more about that too.

what school events do they ask for the parents to be there other than first communion, confirmation, graduation?

sorry for all the questions. just want to anticipate all these things before school opens.

^ they send out forms once school starts but you have to reserve as soon as you receive it because slots are limited.

School events where parent participation is highly encouraged include Convocation (Recognition Day) quarterly if your child is an awardee, school programs, Parents Day.

I don't know if they have special Filipino classes.  They have a Foreigners' class (1section), thoigh.

flexusob, yes sis.. yun lang award na nakuha ko.. and higher year ka nga sakin kasi naabutan ko ang aircon (4th year HS ako nito).. lol I guess naabutan mo si Mrs. Laig? The most terror teacher there? And yung manang na nag aayos ng stroller nung gradeschool ako.. terror din.. and si Father Rodriguez buhay pa ba?

I love CSA.. I think, being a parent, this school has nurtured us in so many ways.. I like the location of the school kasi hindi ka basta basta makakalabas.. it's a long walk if you want to go to the mall (para ito sa mga batang lakwatchera).. I like their libraries, canteen (LRT tawag namin dito before at masasarap ang food), gym, covered court, field, etc.
