I do believe that a lot of us experience a wardrobe rut, wherein we just think that the clothes we curently own are boring, or that we need *new* stuff to make everything look more 'now' or interesting. Shopping is indeed the instant answer, but it's unhealthy for your wallet to buy a new item every so often. Here, I share some tips on how to refresh your fashion game without spending so much.
1. Resurrect a trendy item from the dead.
Basing from the D&G tee controversy that has been abuzz last week (it's all good now, btw), and the wide array of logo tees available in the market, it's safe to assume that this item is HOT. Instead of buying a new one, take out any of your old tees you *may* have kept from college.
2. Add a bow for a feminine touch.
To put a new spin to your basic pieces, tie a bow on your collar, cuffs, and waist. This adds a luxe, soft touch to old clothes.
3. Reinvent your trusty pair of denim jeans
Embroidered and raw hem denim are both hot for summer! To ride on this trend without needing to buy a new pair, grab your jeans (or denim skirt) and give it a crafty makeover. You can either iron on or sew patches on them or cut the hem to update them.

4. Take a long, unworn item to your modista.
Have it altered to your current size, or have it transformed into another piece of clothing. Repurposing clothing saves you money and is good for the earth!
5. Be creative in styling your clothes.
Do you own a dress that's too sexy for your liking? Wear it over a shirt for coverage and extra style points!
5. Have a closet swap with your friends.
As the saying goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Organize a fashion swap with your barkada to help everyone purge their closets from unneeded items and take home items they've always wanted without spending!
