Heart Evangelista may have a glam team on speed dial, but like most of us, there are times when she has to do her own makeupand she's a pro at it, by the way! If you remember, she even did a full-glam look for a red carpet event in New York City

"I really love doing my makeup. I think it's very relaxing, and I love painting so it's sort of like the same thing," shares Heart in her latest vlog entry for her YouTube channel. In the video, the actress filmed how she does her sultry, glam look (including how she manages to make it not overly plakado).

If you've got a wedding or major event to attend in the coming days, and you simply want to appear a little more glammed up for the special occasion, here are a few pointers we've learned that'll be pretty useful for when you'll be doing your own makeup:

1. Start with your neck

This is an additional step but it's important nonetheless. "I do this early in the morning but I like to do it again. I mean it's added prevention, added protection. You're aging every second of the day so I think it's important to apply an [anti-aging cream to my neck and chin] right before [putting on] my makeup," shared Heart.

2. Apply foundation only on the center of your face

If you hate looking too made up, take cues from Heart who only applies foundation on her cheeks, under eye area, and nose. "[Even if] I do have melasma and little spots [on my cheek area], [doing this] makes the look natural. It still makes you look very real and not too made up," explained the actress.

3. Don't be afraid to put more blush on

"It's okay to be a little bit generous because it'll fade throughout the day," advised Heart. "Pero [siyempre] wag naman yung over," she added. Heart likes to layer a soft pink-colored liquid blush over a coral-hued powder blush for a longer-lasting flush.

4. Subtly contour your cheeks

Here's an interesting contouring hack we got from Heart: Instead of sweeping your bronzer all over your face, dip your thumb in a cream bronzer and then simply press it against the highest part of your cheekbonesand that'll be enough to bring warmth back to your skin. Use a brush or a beauty sponge to fully blend it in.

5. Tightline your eyes

If you've got a minimal base, balance it out with more defined eyes. "Tightlining," says Heart, will help make your eyes pop even without a mascara. "This is where you fill in your upper waterline," she explained. "It fills all the spaces in between [your peepers and lids] and it opens up the eyes." Just be sure to use a waterproof eyeliner!
