Butt acne is a disgusting and unfortunate reality that we have to deal with. Here are six tricks you can do to get rid of acne on your bum for good:
Just like any other part of your body, your butt needs a good scrubbing to get rid of dead skin cells and deep-seated dirt. Once or twice a week, exfoliate your buttocks with a gentle body scrub. You can also use exfoliating pads or body brushes that are readily available in the market. Doing this will unclog your blocked pores—that cause acne—to prevent things from getting worse.
Dab the same zit creams you use on the spots on your face—they should work just as well!
3. Swap your body wash
Pick an anti-bacterial body wash that can prevent the formation of germs and bacteria that will lead to breakouts. Use your loofah to scrub the area clean!
4. But wash your body last
If you wash your body before your hair, it might be time to switch things up. You see, if you wash your hair last, some of your hair products’ residue might end up staying on your body, clogging your pores and leading to body and butt acne.
5. Be smart with your underwear and avoid tight clothing
We’ve been taught to favor cotton underwear because, as opposed to nylon and lace, it lets your skin breathe better. Wear cotton underwear and loose clothing to prevent the formation of acne, ingrown hair, and even infections.
6. Use a light moisturizer
Instead of thick and rich body creams, use a light moisturizer—or oil—on your butt. Heavy, fragranced lotions might be the root cause of your butt acne after all.
7. Get off your ass
Avoid sitting for long hours to prevent blocking your skin’s pores. Sweat might also get trapped, and we all know what that leads to!
