Brow grooming is usually best done by the pros, but there are moments when you need to resort to tweezing your arches yourself—say, when it's crunch time and you don't have the time to squeeze in a salon appointment or you want to save up a few bucks and skip a few brow jobs. Sure, it can be frightening to touch your sacred arches, but if you follow the guidelines below, you can achieve billion-dollar brows, no problem!

Tweeze after you shower
To help open your pores and ease the struggle (and pain) of pulling the brow hairs out, indulge in a warm shower or place a warm, damp face towel first on your brows first.

Pick the right type of tweezer
Make plucking easier and less agonizing when you choose a slanted tweezer like Eye of Horus' Precision Tweezers (P690 at The angled edge rests on top of the skin perfectly and follows the growth direction of the eyebrow hair.

Don’t be trigger-happy
You can’t just tweeze away to your heart’s content because you’ll end up with skinny arches that you will regret! Prior to plucking, check the natural shape of your brows. To know which areas need pruning, assess the areas where stray hairs abound outside your brow shape. Another technique would be to fill in your eyebrows with a brow pencil first, so you can closely monitor the scope of tweezing.

Don’t get too close.
Step back from the mirror every now and then when you tweeze stray hairs. This way, you can see how much have you taken off and prevent yourself from over-plucking.
