Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi are now officially married. The two tied the knot on November 15 at Fernbrook Gardens in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
The couple, who already have two children together, was only allowed to get married last August after dealing with legalities from Carmina’s previous marriage to actor Rustom Padilla. Zoren had then expressed his desire to marry Carmina, and he kept his word by giving a surprise proposal and wedding for his bride.
PEP.ph reports that the whole affair came as a shock to Carmina, who had absolutely no clue about what was happening. She had arrived at the venue thinking that she and her family were having a shoot for one of their endorsements. Even her gown was a covert collaboration between Zoren and designer Paul Cabral.
After Carmina had her makeup done, she was surprised when a flash mob started dancing to Rihanna’s “We Found Love.” Zoren then proposed to her under a cherry blossom tree, which is Carmina's favorite. The actress, of course, said yes.
Shortly after the proposal, the two were wed in a civil ceremony presided by a lady judge. Among their sponsors were Kris Aquino, Eric Quizon, and Ben Chan. Their other celebrity guests include Susan Roces, Maricel Soriano, Gelli and Janice de Belen, Joey Marquez, and Amy Austria.
Carmina revealed in a post-wedding interview with Boy Abunda that she was overwhelmed by the whole surprise. "Sobrang happy lang (I’m very happy.)." she said.
