Actor Xian Lim and actress Kim Chiu play sweethearts on teleserye My Binondo Girl. With the success of their love team come rumors that the two of them might be taking their romance off-screen as well, but at the thanksgiving press conference for the show on January 12, both denied that they were moving beyond friendship. Nevertheless, Xian freely talked about how he felt about Kim, PEP.ph reports.
"Basta po nandito lang ako para kay Kim (I'm here for Kim)," Xian is quoted as saying. "Ipinapakita ko na special siya sa akin. Gusto kong iparamdam sa kanya that I care for her. (I"m showing her that she's special to me. I want her to feel that I care for her.) She's really special for me."
"Mahilig siyang mang-surprise ng mga bulaklak (He loves surprising me with flowers)," Kim revealed. "Kahit sa sasakyan, magugulat ka na lang na pagsakay mo, may flowers sa loob. Pero siyempre, at the same time, nag-iingat din ako sa nararamdaman ko and sa kung kanino ko ibibigay ang puso ko. (He can even surprise you in the car. You'll just be surprised to see flowers inside when you get in. But, of course, at the same time, I'm being careful with my feelings and about chosing who to give my heart to.)"
But it was director Francis Pasion who pointed out one of the sweetest things Xian had done for Kim: he serenaded her on set. Xian hired a choir to sing The Carpenters' "You," and in the middle of the song, he came out to give Kim flowers and a Christmas gift.
Kim said she was surprised and happy. "I don't want to talk na parang wala lang sa akin iyon. Siyempre, pusong-babae naman ako. (I don't want to talk about it like it's nothing to me. Of course, I still have the heart of a woman.)"
Despite the kilig moments, though, both actors said no courtship was going on and they were taking things slow.
"I'd like to take things step by step," Xian said. "Mangyayari naman 'yon if it's really meant to be."
Meanwhile, Kim said she wasn't in a hurry to find love in 2012. "Kilig-kilig lang muna. Hanggang do'n lang muna. (Affectionate gestures are fine. But that's the extent of it for now.)"
