They say with age comes wisdom and confidence. Aging is a fact of life, and if there’s anything we can do with it, it’s to fill it with positivity. Case in point: Celebrity dermatologist Vicki Belo shared on Instagram a humorous story about her recent experience during the elections.
The doctor, known as the “fairy godmother” to most celebrities who underwent beauty transformations, narrated how she went to the voting precinct with her husband Hayden Kho, son Quark Henares, and daughter-in-law Bianca. They were met with long lines like everyone else, prompting Vicki to go to the senior citizen line for faster processing. FYI, she’s already 65 years old!
"So, for the first time, kahit ayokong aminin, umamin na po ako na senior na po ako. Kasi I saw the line in the senior, medyo short. So I went to the senior line and I said, 'Excuse me po, is this the line for senior?’”
A volunteer then assisted her and signaled for her to sit first. That’s when she heard someone from behind her clearly pissed by what looked like an unfair treatment.
“When I sat there, bigla na lang narinig ko from the back, may medyo galit! Sabi niya, ‘Akala ko ba pang-senior lang itong area na 'to? Bakit nandiyan ‘yan?’”
Instead of being annoyed at the rudeness, the doctor handled it in a positive way. “Should I be mad or happy because she didn’t think I was a senior? And so I guess I’m happy! Thank you very much! It’s the best compliment I’ve ever received ‘cause it’s so genuine!”
Definitely a well-deserved compliment albeit unintended.
