Sarah Geronimo has refused to talk about her rumoured romance with Matteo Guidicelli, saying that, in contrast to her high-profile courtship with Gerald Anderson last year, she wants to keep her personal life private this time around.

“Pasensiya na po, ayoko po talagang pag-usapan. Pasensiya na po... sana naiintindihan niyo po na, this time, sana gusto kong gawing private at ayaw kong haluan ng showbiz (I’m sorry, I really don’t want to talk about it. I’m sorry... I hope you understand that this time, I want to keep this private and I don’t want it to be mixed with showbiz),” the pop star was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph.

“Sana, kung anuman 'yung meron kami, sa amin na lang dalawa, or 'dun sa mga taong malalapit sa amin,” she later said. “Tsaka, kung anuman 'yung… lalabas at lalabas din naman po, e, kung ano 'yung totoo, 'di ba po? Di naman namin kailangang, ‘Oh, I’m so in love!’ Hindi naman kailangang 'ganun, e, di ba po (I hope that whatever’s going on between us will stay between us, or with the people close to us. And whatever it is... it will come out eventually if it’s real, right? We don’t have to be all ‘Oh, I’m so in love!’ It doesn’t have to be like that, right?)?”

Sarah likewise clarified the news report that said she and Matteo are already officially together.

“When you say official, it should come from us,” she said. “To say na it’s official, mali naman yata na sa kanila manggagaling (it’s not right that it came from them.).”

She also refused to confirm if her Mommy Divine, who is known to be very strict when it comes to Sarah’s suitors, had really approved of Matteo for her.

“Ayun ang hindi ko masasabi. Kasi, uhm, magiging boto lang naman ang nanay kapag pinayagan na niya sigurong magpakasal,” she said. “Or, 'yun nga, di ba, pag hinayaan na niyang mapunta sa lalaki 'yung anak niya (I can’t say anything about that because my mom will only approve of a guy when she allows me to marry him, or if she lets her daughter be with a man.).”
