Charice’s mother, Raquel Pempengco, maintains that she is getting along well with her daughter despite the many rumors hounding their relationship.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, Raquel revealed that Charice took the time to greet her during May 12, Mother’s Day, and that this is proof that they are okay with each other.

“Hindi kami nag-aaway at walang pag-aaway na naganap,” she had told PEP.ph. “She texted me na she wanted to be with her friends and she's coming back again (We’re not fighting and there is no fight happening. She texted me that she wanted to be with her friends and that she’s coming back again.).”

Raquel also dismissed the rumor that she and Charice ended up in a police station due to a massive fight.

“'Yung police station na 'yun, tinanong sa akin kung totoo dahil yun daw balita sa kanila,” she said. “Pero sinabi ko na it's just a rumor at walang ganung pangyayari (People have asked me if we ended up in a police station because that’s what they heard. But I told them that it’s just a rumor and that nothing like that really happened.).”

However, Raquel evaded the topic of Charice’s rumored gender issues, including her alleged elopement with X Factor finalist Alyssa Quijano.

“Hindi ko masasagot 'yan,” she said. “Siya lang ang makakakumpirma kung ano talaga ang tunay niya na nararamdaman kasi hindi ako 'yun [tamang tao] para sumagot para sa kanya (I can’t answer that. She’s the only one who can confirm how she really feels because I’m not the right person to answer for her.).”
