Patrick Garcia has revealed that he does not regularly see Alex Jazz, his son with ex-girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado, because he and the actress are not on speaking terms.

He made the admission on the February 17 episode of the weekly talk show The Buzz, and he said he is hoping that he and Jennylyn would be able to iron out their differences soon.

“Hopeful [ako], yeah. Ayaw ko namang mag-away eh (I'm hopeful. I don't want to start a fight.). I would love to be with my son and I want him to grow up knowing me. I want to be there every step of the way,” he was quoted by ABS-CBNNews.com as saying on the show.

However, he refused to say if his conflict with Jennylyn stemmed from his failure to support their son financially, which he revealed in a previous interview.

“Few months ago, when I was taping for the show, siyempre wala pang pumapasok na pera,” he had said. “We had open connection naman first na understand na lang when my money comes in, 'dun ako magbibigay ng suporta kay Jazz. E, wala pa,intindihin mo naman, di ba (A few months ago, when I was taping for the show, of course there wasn’t any money coming in yet. We had open connections at first, and it was understood that I will give financial support to Jazz when my money comes in. But there wasn’t anything yet, is that so hard to understand?)?”
