Andrea Meza of Mexico is the new Miss Universe 2020!
The 26-year-old software engineer bested over 70 other beauties from around the world.
She finished strong with her final statement on beauty standards: "As we’ve advanced as a society, we’ve also advanced with stereotypes. Nowadays, beauty isn’t the only way we look. For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirit but in our hearts and the way that we conduct ourselves. Never let someone tell you that you’re not valuable."
Julia Gama of Brazil was first-runner up.
And the second runner-up is Janick Maceta of Peru.
Andrea succeeds Zozibini Tunzi, who had the longest reign as Miss Universe due to the pandemic.
The Philippines' very own Rabiya Mateo finished in the Top 21 of the pageant.
Congratulations to the new Miss Universe!
