Melai Cantiveros has confirmed on the September 8 episode of showbiz talk show The Buzz that she and her boyfriend Jason Francisco are expecting a baby.

“Positive na positive, two lines, over... over kabuntisan (It’s really positive, two lines, over… I’m really pregnant!)!” Melai was quoted by PEP.ph as saying on the show.

“Noong malaman ko talaga, hindi ako kinabahan (I didn’t get nervous when I learned about it),” she continued, adding that she and Jason have always wanted to have a baby by the time they reach 25, their current age. Both their families also know that they are expecting a child.

As for wedding plans, the two have admitted that they are already engaged, and they want to have a church wedding.

“Siyempre dalaga, nag-iisa, gusto ng mommy niya, ng lola niya, sa simbahan,” said Jason. "Kahit sa amin, gusto sa simbahan (Since she’s the only girl in their family, her mother and her grandmother want her to have a church wedding. Even my own family shares the same sentiments.).”

“Ang maipapangako ko sa ‘yo, hindi ako magkaka-second wife,” he later told his fiancee. "Pero sana lang, lambingin mo rin ako… mag-trust ka sa akin (I can promise you that I won’t have a second wife. But I hope you’ll be more affectionate towards me… Trust me.).”
