Actress Marian Rivera will play the title role in the upcoming epicserye Amaya. In an interview with GMAnews.tv, Marian reveals that Amaya is the daughter of a sultan who doesn’t have any male children to pass his throne on to.

Lahat kasi ng naging anak niya babae (All his children are women),” she explains. (I’m the only girl who has a snake for a twin. During those times, a snake meant you were excellent and brave, so I’m the only one [who can be the heir to the throne].”

From being a sheltered princess, Amaya must step up to the plate and become a fighter. I’m the privileged princess who can’t go out of her hut)," she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. (My feet can’t get dirty. Then I’ll become a slave and eventually a warrior. That’s when Amaya’s story starts.)”
