Demi Lovato and Anna Kendrick were among the celebrity fans left stunned by Beyonce's "Lemonade" film, which debuted in America on Saturday night.

Devotees took to social media to rave about the R&B star's much-hyped TV special, which she staged as promotion for the shock release of her new album, also called "Lemonade".

The programme, which aired on America's HBO network, featured a series of music videos soundtracked by brand new material.

And her celebrity fans were among those left amazed by Beyonce's latest visual feast.

Lovato didn't even wait for the TV special to end before jumping on Twitter and writing: "10 mins into #LEMONADE.. This s**t is so twisted and dark so far and I f**king LOVE IT... Wow", while actress Kendrick added, "I feel changed. How was that THAT good?? HOW???"

The Weeknd, who collaborated with Beyonce on one of her new tracks wrote, "Queen" and added a bee emoji, referencing the superstar's nickname, Queen Bey.

Meanwhile, Zendaya, who appeared alongside Serena Williams, Amandla Stenberg, and Quvenzhane Wallis in Beyonce's TV special, tweeted: "One of the most beautiful things I've ever had the honor of being apart of... Black. Girl. Magic." And Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba added: "The art, the poetry, the images, the fashion, the message, the words, the music... I dug it."

Kerry Washington also couldn't hold back her feelings for Beyonce's new music and videos, adding, "I'm in a total @Beyonce vortex", while fellow actress Sanaa Lathan was "Breathless" over Lemonade, adding, "Every frame, every bar, a stunning work of art."

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet tw-align-center" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Whoa. My whole world is ruled by <a href="">@HBO</a> right now. I&#39;m in a total <a href="">@Beyonce</a> vortex but I gotta pull myself together in time for <a href="">@GameOfThrones</a></p>&mdash; kerry washington (@kerrywashington) <a href="">April 24, 2016</a></blockquote><script async src="//" charset="utf-8"></script>

There were also social media salutes from Broadway star Audra McDonald and rapper Wale, and Beyonce's former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland gushed about her pal's headline-making new album and documentary on Sunday.

"I'm so proud of her," Rowland told Entertainment Tonight. "She's just so transparent and it's beautiful music."
