Kris Aquino recently asked the press to stop asking her about her lovelife, saying she’s starting to feel like people don’t want her to be happy.

“Honestly, when I name anybody, I get a barrage of kanegahan (negativity) about that person,” she was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “So, parang feeling ko, ang daming kontra sa kaligayahan ko—whoever it is, ha. Kung anu-ano [ang sinasabi], nakita kasama ni ganito, ganyan (So I feel like there are so many people who don’t want me to be happy—whoever it is. They would say so many things, like I was seen with this or that person.).”

“I’m not going to tell anyone of you kasi ang concern ko lang naman talaga is makasundo ko siya, makasundo siya ni Josh at ni Bimbs, and later on makasundo rin siya ng mga kapatid ko,” she continued. “Kung ano man ang opinyon n’yo doon, dedma na kasi wala naman yung kinalaman sa mga produktong ine-endorse ko at mga programa ko (I’m not going to tell any one of you because my only concern is that I’ll get along with him, that he’ll get along with Josh and Bimbs, and that he’ll get along with my siblings. Whatever your opinions are, I’ll ignore them because they have nothing to do with my programs and the products I’m endorsing.).”

She also said that she feels sorry for the men who get linked to her because they also lose their privacy.

“Naaawa lang talaga ako sa kanila kasi it’s so unfair. Parang hinuhubaran ang buong pagkatao nila... it’s not fair for somebody who didn’t ask for this life,” she lamented. “Kasi, if you’re going to see me and then hahalukayin ang buong buhay mo, nawalan ka ng privacy (I feel bad for them because it’s so unfair. It’s like they’re forced to reveal their whole persona in public… it’s not fair for somebody who didn’t ask for this life. Because if you’re going to see me and then people will dig up information about your life, you’ll lose your privacy.).”

“This is the life I chose and my sons embraced this life because ito yung kabuhayan namin. For a person who just wants to get to know me, hindi. As much as possible talaga, hindi ko siya pag-uusapan kasi kawawa naman siya. Kung ang presidente nga kayang magkaroon ng private life, ako pa kaya (This is the life I chose and my sons embraced this life because this is what we do for a living. This isn’t the life a person who just wants to get to know me chose. As much as possible, I wouldn’t talk about him because it’s not fair to him. If the president can have a private love life, what’s stopping me from having one, too?)?”
