It seems like celebrity sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga really hit the genetic jackpot: both girls have lustrous locks, gorgeous features, and naturally slim bodies. Still, even though they’re already as sexy as they can be, they haven’t dropped their regular workouts from their jam-packed schedules. Alex and Toni's fitness routines zero in on toning their already-fab bods, and their positive attitude keeps them motivated to hit the gym. Read on for their secrets to maintaining their exercise regimen.
ALEX SAYS…
MIX IT UP.
“I do Bikram yoga. Dito, mag-swe-sweat ka talaga, and may 26 postures na kailangan gawin, for one minute and 30 seconds each. Medyo mabilis ako ma-bore. So mas okay sa akin ang Vinyasa yoga, kasi mas may movement. Sa Vinyasa binibigyan ako ng variation, so it’s new and exciting (Here, you’ll really sweat, and you have to do 26 postures for one minute and 30 seconds each. But I get bored easily. So I find Vinyasa yoga more okay for me because there’s more movement. I get more variation in Vinyasa, so it’s new and exciting.). I also do Pilates. Gusto ko siya kasi kung ano ‘yung gusto mong ma-focus na body part, mato-tone siya (I like it because you can really tone the body part you want to focus on.).
CELEBRATE SMALL VICTORIES.
“Kapag nakikita ko kahit konting results, lalo na when I see my arms getting toned, mas nakaka-motivate. Parang ‘Ay! Malapit ko nang ma-achieve ‘yung gusto ko (Whenever I see even the smallest results, especially when I see my arms getting toned, it motivates me even more. I would say, ‘Ay! I’m close to achieving what I want!)!”
TONI SAYS…
DANCE AWAY.
“I do body conditioning and a bit of yoga, but not as much as last year. Now I do ballroom dancing, and I try to tone my body in a way na pang-dancer talaga. Favorite ko kasi lahat mahirap: the rumba, cha-cha, jive. Nakaka-challenge. Mas hindi ako nagkakasakit because my body is conditioned to move. ‘Yung stamina ko, stronger. Parang mas energetic ako sa trabaho ko (My favorite dances are the hard ones: the rhumba, cha-cha, jive. It’s challenging. I don’t get sick easily because my body is conditioned to move. My stamina is stronger. I also feel like I’m more energetic at work.).”
WORK HARD, WORKOUT HARDER.
“I don’t want to sacrifice my health just because I’m busy with work. It’s very important that you don’t lose that balance. I work hard, but I also want to look good and feel good.”Learn more about Toni and Alex Gonzaga by grabbing a copy of the July 2013 issue of Women’s Health, out on stands now!
