John Lloyd Cruz has made it clear that there is no bad blood between him and ex-GF Ellen Adarna’s husband Derek Ramsay, even wishing them a “strong and happy” marriage during a TV guesting in 2021. He also expressed his appreciation for Derek, whom he believes is a “good influence” on his son Elias.
In a recent vlog, comedian Ogie Diaz gave an account of his conversation with the actor during director Bobot Mortiz’s birthday party.
“Sabi ko, ‘buti okay kayo ni Ellen sa bata,’ [sabi niya] ‘oo naman, kapag gusto ko naman hiramin yung anak ko, nahihiram ko naman. Maganda rin na nandoon si Derek kasi naiintindihan ako ni Derek bilang tatay din siya,” shared Ogie.

According to the comedian, JLC also believes that Derek’s parenting is a major factor in Elias’ mature personality. “’Ang [ganda] ng ginagawa ni Derek para sa anak ko. Four years old pa lang [siya] pero parang matured na. […] ‘Kung hindi ganun si Derek, hindi ko alam kung anong ugali ngayon ni Elias.’”

In a slew of family dramas, it’s a refreshing sight to see these celebrity parents working together to be a positive influence on their child. Elias will grow up to be so loved, that’s for sure!
