In a report, ABS-CBN Films has just announced that it has finally found its Darna.
According to ABS-CBN Films’ Managing Director Olivia Lamasan, the one who’ll take up the iconic role is Jane de Leon, who was picked among approximately 300 celebrities and young actresses who auditioned.
The Star Magic talent has played numerous roles in the network’s many TV series, including Halik and La Luna Sangre.
According to the report, Darna director Jerrold Tarog said that Jane was the perfect pick, as the current run of the title would be about the heroine’s beginnings: “’Yung Darna story natin ngayon is a genesis story, a coming of age. Ang requirement talaga is somebody na young and with an air of innocence, but at the same time a strength of character."
