Actress Isabel Granada, who fell into a coma due to aneurysm and multiple cardiac arrests, passed away in Qatar Saturday evening. Her cousin Joseph Rivera shared the sad news on his Facebook page:

"It is with great sadness and grief that my cousin Isabel Granada peacefully joined our creator at 18:00 today with the comfort the family. For me she was more than just a celebrity but that of a National Artist. Cuz I'm devastated that you had to go so soon despite us just reconnecting our family just recent [sic]. I will miss you so dearly. We would like to request for everyone's continued prayers for Isabel and for us family at this challenging moment. Maraming Salamat po."

He also shared the statement of Isabel's husband Arnel Crowley:

"It is with great sadness that my wife Isabel Granada has peacefully passed here in Doha Qatar. She has been a fantastic wife, mother and daughter. She always did her best in everything she did, whether it be in front of a camera or sports. I would also like to take this time to thank the Filipino community in Doha for giving their full support throughout this difficult time for myself and the family.

"Baby..wherever you might be..just always remember that I LOVE YOU. and I miss you very much."

Isabel Granada had flown to Doha, Qatar to be a guest speaker in the recent Philippine Tourism and Trade Conference.

The daugther of Humberto Granada and Isabel "Guapa" Villarama, she started her showbiz career in the 80's show That's Entertainment which aired in GMA7. Since then, she has had numerous acting and singing projects, one of the latest being an appearance in Tadhana, a drama anthology in the Kapuso network. She is survived by her mother Isabel, her husband Arnel, her son Hubert, and her stepdaughters Sarah and Abbey.
