It seems that actress Gretchen Barretto has found herself in another word war.
PEP.ph reports that the actress had a heated exchange with a basher (@bullygretchen) via the Instagram page of Connie Barretto, Gretchen's sister-in-law. The Instagram user, who is believed to be Inday, has accused Gretchen of creating "multiple accounts" just so she can bash herself in public.
Gretchen warned that if the basher persisted, she would reveal an alleged molestation incident.
“If you don’t stop I will finally speak about the molestation. I am no longer the Gretchen that you can hurt nor can you silence me. I will go all out. And I am blessed to have a narsisstic [sic] mother who is abusive in every way & an alcoholic father who made his 2 daughters work for the family.” she wrote.
She then brought up a supposed theft that happened at a jewelry store.
“Remember miladay jewelry store? When you were hanging out a lot there & pretending you would help sell the jewelry? An expensive piece got lost do you remember where you kept that missing piece?" she said.
In a separate PEP.ph report, Inday aired her side on the jewelry store incident, which she said happened when Gretchen was eight or 10 years old.
According to Mrs. Barretto, the missing piece of jewelry was hers.
"A piece got lost in front of our eyes before they could endorse it to me formally! The husband and wife designer of Miladay asked the help of their spiritista (spiritualist) friend named Bobby De Leon, who said, 'Nandiyan lang yan! (It's just there!) Look out for someone who will start throwing up with a terrible headache--she will return the item!' The next day Miladay store called to say the item has been found! It was returned to me!" she recalled in a statement.
Inday added, "Sigue lang--manchahan mo pa! (Go ahead, taint our names!) That had always been her forte! Smear campaign and character assassination! Many who had been victimized by this creature do not believe her stories."
Gretchen, in turn, commented on her mother's statement through her response to one of her supporters on Instagram.
"She has to discredit me to conceal all her wrongdoings. May kasabihan na Ang kakambal ng sinungaling, magnanakaw (There's a saying that liars and thieves are twins)," she said.
