"Ang hirap!" says Glaiza de Castro when asked how she makes her long-distance relationship with her Irish boyfriend, David Rainey, work.

According to the singer-actress, they've been together for more than a year, but Glaiza only started sharing photos of her boyfriend last January 2019.

"He's from Ireland, so based siya sa Belfast, at sa Donegal. Pero 'yong sisters niya ay based sa London. Kaya minsan nagpupunta-punta rin siya doon," the actress told PEP.ph during the release of her single title "Kapalaran" last Friday, May 31. "Ngayon, nasa Ireland siya kasi may work siya doon," she added.

Glaiza shared how there was a time when they were apart for several months.

The actress said: "Siguro nakaka-apat na beses na siya ng punta dito. So, last year nagpunta siya. 'Tapos ang tagal naming apart. Siguro ilang months... siguro seven, eight months, gan'on.

It was only earlier this year when they both saw each other again. "Pumunta siya ng January, and then recently nung May," Glaiza shared.

As with all long-distance relationshipstime difference is a major challenge, but for Glaiza, they use their 7-hour time difference to help each other out. "Kapag nagti-taping ako 3 a.m. na, 4 a.m. na, sa kanila maaga pa yun.

"So, parang nagkakatulungan kami, na [he is] helping me with my work, kasi kailangan kong magising paTapos siya minsan kailangan niya ng alarm clock, tinatawagan ko siya."

"Masaya pero mahirap," Glaiza admits.

The actress shared that she has no plans of settling down yet, especially since she still wants to study abroad. "Sa totoo lang, gusto ko munang tapusin ang school ko. Gusto kong mag-ipon pa. Hindi naman ako in a hurry to have a marriage or to settle down. Kasi ngayon, okay naman lahat," she said.

Glaiza plans to take a quick break from acting and enroll in a short course in London that will take around three months to complete.
