Gerald Anderson has finally explained his decision to reveal the details of his relationship with Maja Salvador in the current issue of a showbiz magazine.

“It's about time,” he was quoted by PEP.ph as saying in the June 1 episode of Showbiz Inside Report. “Oras na, kumbaga, nakakapagod ding itago, kumbaga hindi rin tama, so sinabi ko na lahat ng gusto kong sabihin dun sa article para na rin hindi humaba pa (It’s time, because it’s also tiring to hide and it’s not right anymore, so I said everything I wanted to say in the article so the issue won’t be stretched further.).”

He also added that he does not regret his romance with Maja despite the criticisms being thrown at their relationship from all sides.

Sa akin kasi, the harder the fight, the sweeter,” he said. “Kumbaga the more you fight for something na gusto mo talaga, worth it talaga na kahit lahat ng tao may kanya-kanyang opinyon but 'yung importante 'yung mga mahal ko sa buhay (For me, the harder the fight, the sweeter. So the more you fight for something that you really want, it’s going to be really worth it. Even if everyone have their own opinions about it, what's really important for me are the ones I love.).”

Gerald added that another reason for his revelation was to shield Kim Chiu from further intrigue. Kim used to be one of Maja’s closest friends until the latter got together with Gerald, who was Kim’s ex-boyfriend. The two girls are said to be giving each other the cold shoulder even if they have to work with each other on their shows.

Alam mo, isang dahilan kung bakit ko rin ginawa yun para hindi na rin madamay si Kim sa lahat ng ito. Kumbaga, let's just move on, then she shouldn't be dragged in this mess, so hayaan nalang natin (You know, one of the reasons why I did this is so that Kim will not be dragged into this issue anymore. So let’s just move on, then she wouldn’t be dragged in this mess, so let’s just let her be),” he appealed.
