Gabby Concepcion says he does not know that his daughter KC Concepcion is currently dating French filmmaker Pierre Emmanuel Plassart and that he would rather not pry about her love life.

“Hindi ko kilala ang dine-date niya... baka 'yun ang nakilala ko noong isang beses,” he was quoted as saying by PEP.ph during a press conference held on February 5. “Pero, hindi naman ako matanong na, ‘What do you do? What do you do here? What’s your job? Are you serious with my daughter?’ Malay ko ba kung ano ang ginagawa nila, baka magkaibigan lang, di ba? So, hindi ko na inaalam… kung sila na. Basta ang pagkakakilala lang sa akin, kaibigan (I don’t know whom she’s dating… maybe he was the one who was introduced to me one time. But I’m not the kind who asks, ‘What do you do? What do you do here? What’s your job? Are you serious with my daughter?’ I have no idea about what they’re doing, maybe they’re just friends, right? So I didn’t ask... if they’re together. He was only introduced to me as a friend.)."

He also said that KC has yet to formally introduce a new boyfriend to him. “Wala, wala siyang sinasabi na, ‘Pa, this is my boyfriend.’ Wala namang sinasabing ganoon. At saka, hindi naman ako nagtatanong (She hasn’t introduced anyone to me as, ‘Pa, this is my boyfriend.’ She hasn’t said anything like that. And I don’t ask her, either.)."

Gabby also shared that he doesn’t care if KC’s next boyfriend is not part of the showbiz industry. “Kahit sa nasa industriya o wala sa industriya, basta ang importante, nagmamahalan sila and they are willing to make it work (Whether he’s from the industry or not, what’s important is that they love each other are that they are willing to make it work.).”

As for his advice to his daughter regarding matters of the heart, Gabby says he often tells her to not just rely on her heart. “Madalas ko namang sinasabi, 'When you fall in love, you first fall in love with your heart. Use your mind also and, basically, follow your feelings, your instinct,” he said. “Sa buhay kasi, hindi naman puwedeng puro puso. Of course, doon nag-uumpisa (I often tell her, ‘When you fall in love, you first fall in love with your heart. Use your mind also and, basically, follow your feelings, your instinct. In life, you can’t always act on your heart’s desires. Of course, it starts there.).”
