Singer Freddie Aguilar’s 16-year-old girlfriend has spoken up about her controversial relationship with the 60-year-old “Anak” hitmaker, who had stirred controversy when he came clean about their romance a few days ago.

In an article on ABS-CBNNews.com, the teenager, fondly called “Babe” by the music icon, recalled that they met each other during an election campaign concert in Oriental Mindoro, her hometown. Freddie, who confessed to being immediately smitten by “Babe,” had given her his calling card during a photo op. They then started texting each other a few days later and eventually decided to meet up in Manila.

“'Nung nakipagkita ako sa kanya sa Maynila, nag-stay ako sa bahay niya. Mga 12 days ako do'n,” said “Babe.” “Pag-uwi ko sa'min, do'n ko naramdaman na love ko na pala 'yon. Akala ko joke lang. Pagdating ko sa'min, hindi ako makatulog; laging iniisip ko siya (I stayed at his home when I met up with him in Manila. I spent around 12 days there. When I returned home, I realized that I already love him. I thought it was just a joke. I wasn’t able to sleep when I got home; I kept thinking of him.).”

After growing close as friends, “Babe” said that Freddie eventually decided to take their relationship to the next level five months ago by asking “Babe” to be his girlfriend through text.

Though Freddie remains unfazed about the public’s response to his relationship, “Babe”' has admitted that she's affected by the criticisms being hurled their way. Despite this, she still readily expressed just how much she loves her beau.

“Sobra, as in. As in mahal ko siya. Hindi ko masabi kung gaano, kasi walag limitasyon ang pag-ibig eh. Basta mahal ko siya, iyon 'yun (Really, I do. I do love him. I can’t say just how much because there are no limitations when it comes to love. The important thing is that I love him, that’s it),” she said, adding that they plan to get married in two years’ time.
