On The Job, a Filipino action movie directed by Erik Matti, will be having its world premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival.

The movie stars Piolo Pascual as a National Bureau of Investigation agent who is on the hunt for an escaped inmate-turned-hitman, played by Gerald Anderson. It also features Shaina Magdayao, Angel Aquino, Joel Torre, and Joel Marquez.

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that the movie will be shown at the 45th Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, or the Directors' Fortnight, a section held independently by the French Directors Guild, and will be screened alongside 21 feature films and nine short films from around the globe. The Fortnight will start on May 16 and will be opened by the Israeli film The Congress.

Aside from On The Job, two other Filipino movies will be participating in the Un Certain Regard section of this year’s festival: Death March, which stars Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo; and Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan, by renowned director Lav Diaz.
