Do you remember swooning over the boys of Meteor Garden? Well, get ready to feel the kilig all over again as Taiwanese boyband F4 is reportedly set to perform at the CCTV’s New Year’s Gala, an annual program by the Chinese TV station to usher in the New Year.
According to Toggle, a Singaporean online publication, an insider witnessed Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Chu, and Vic Chou rehearsing for a performance; however, the same insider also noted that the line-up for the New Year Gala is yet to be confirmed. Should it be true, it's also speculated that the group would perform their biggest hit “Meteor Rain,” which they (minus Vic Chou) sang during their mini-reunion at Ken Chu’s wedding ceremony.
Vanness Wu recently attended a press conference for Kenting’s Spring Wave Music and Art Festival where he was asked about the rumored F4 reunion and said that he “did not know,” but he will definitely look forward to it should it happen. He also noted that he's all for a reunion and revealed that he and Jerry Yan once discussed their plans about releasing new music together.
“I look forward to sharing the stage again, but I’m not sure if people still want to see us singing as four?” Vanness said.
The last time the four performed together was in 2013 at Jiangsu TV's Spring Festival in China.
F4 was formed in 2001 after the success of the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden. The band also starred in several Meteor Garden spin-offs (Meteor Rain, Meteor Garden II) and released three albums namely Meteor Rain (2001), Fantasy 4ever (2002), and Waiting for You (2007).
