Dimples showed support to her sister Angeli by attending her graduation, alongside their mom. She regrets that their father is no longer around to be part of this momentous occasion, something he would have been surely proud of. Their father Bong passed away when Angeli was still very young, that's why in her early adult life, Dimples had to stand in as head of their family.
"She calls me 'Mymy' parang ate and mommy, dahil four months old pa lang sya nung tinawag ni Lord si Papa for duty in heaven. We don’t get to spend much time together dahil busy si Ate sa pag-asikaso sa mga kakailanganin nya for school and for college na paparating na this school year for her," she began the long caption to her photo with Angeli, which she posted on Instagram.
Dimples says she feels fulfilled and rewarded that she sees the fruits of her labor in times like these when her siblings, whose schooling she has been financing, graduate. Besides Angeli, she also has a brother named Bam.
She thanked Angeli for persevering in her studies despite the hurdles she has encountered in life. And although they may not spend a lot of time together, Dimples emphasized that it's because she needs to work so she can give her a gift far more valuable, which will last for the rest of her life.
"Salamat Be, pinaalala mo sa akin ang saysay ng pagtratrabaho ko. Napawi ang pagod ko nitong mga nakaraang araw habang isinusuot ko sa yo ang toga na pinaghirapan mo. Sobrang proud ko sa yo. Kaming lahat.
"Laban lang Be, I understand that life has been a challenge, but know that walang challenge ang hindi napapagtagumpayan basta kasama ang pamilya. Hindi ka nag-iisa.
"Ate may not always be present in your everyday life, but my gift to you is to make sure you will have everything you need to build your own dreams. We’re right behind you."
This is not the first time Dimples has shown how important family is for her. Besides being a hands-on parent alongside her husband Boyet Ahmee to their two beautiful kids, Callie, 14, and Alonzo, 3, Dimples has always been a dutiful daughter to her mom Virgie, and a generous Ate to her siblings.
Just last year, Dimples surprised the Romanas with a new house, a gift she worked hard for. When she told them that the house was not really owned by a friend (which was their decoy), but actually a gift to them by Daniela, Dimples' character in the ABS-CBN soap Kadenang Ginto, her mom and siblings' reaction was priceless.
"Thank you to Mama for taking care of Angeli, to Bam for cheering her on. Thank you Papa sa paggabay mo sa amin from heaven. Thank you to my husband for still understanding and letting me give for my family.
"To balance keeping the family together and working almost every day is HARD, pero sa mga pagkakataong ito, I am reminded of why I do it in the first place. I will stand for as long as it takes, take on everything that will come my way, Father God, basta kasama kita. All for Your greater glory, Lord."
Dimples also gave a special shoutout to Ates and Kuyas who give their all for the sake of their siblings:
"P.S. sa lahat ng mga Ate at Kuya na tumatayong magulang din sa kanilang mga kapatid, dama ko kayo. Saludo mula sa isang kapatid na tulad ninyo."
