reports that the Makati Regional Trial Court has denied the permanent protection order (PPO) that Kris Aquino filed earlier this year in behalf of her son, James “Bimby” Yap Jr., against his father, her former husband James Yap. This means that James is free to visit his child once more.

Abot-langit ang tuwa ko,” he was quoted by as saying about his reaction when he received the news from his laywer, Atty. Sonya Castillo. "Sinabi niya sa akin na, 'Nanalo tayo, puwede mo nang makita ang anak mo (I was extremely happy. She told me, ‘We won, you can see your child again.’).'”

However, Kris’ lawyer, Atty. Frank Chavez, insists that though the PPO they filed for Bimby was not granted, the court still approved the PPO that Kris filed to protect herself against James, who allegedly attempted to seduce her when he visited her at her home.

“The court found evidence that James Yap inflicted psychological, emotional hurt and harm on Kris with sexual undertones,” he said, adding that Kris was relieved because “she can no longer be pestered by James.”

Atty. Chavez also said that his camp will file an appeal regarding the court’s decision to reject the PPO they filed in Bimby’s behalf.

“The issue regarding whether or not he can visit his son is not yet resolved with finality,” he declared. “James Yap can’t come near 100 meters of Kris. He, therefore, can’t see Bimby. I can’t see on the horizon any [reunion] this Sunday or several Sundays from now. There are issues that have to be resolved.”

James is aware of this, but he says he only cares about being able to spend time with his son again.

“Actually, hindi ko na iniisip kung ano ang mangyari sa kaso namin ni Kris. Hindi ko na iniiisip 'yun, wala na akong pakialam,” he said. "Ang iniisip ko, ang anak ko—and I’m happy na panalo ako sa side ng anak ko… Makilala niya ako as tatay niya… 'Yun talaga ang ipinaglalaban ko, na kahit papa'no lumaki siya na nandiyan ako sa buhay niya as a father (Actually, I’ve stopped thinking about what will happen to my case with Kris. I don’t think about it, I don’t care about it anymore. I only think about my son—and I’m happy that I won the case with my child…that he will know me as his father…That’s really what I’m fighting for, that he will grow up with me in his life as his father.).”
