The reigning Miss Universe says that success begins from within. She underlines, "You have to begin with acknowledging that you're unique. A lot of times we like to compare ourselves to what other people are doing, what their success looks like and say, 'Why does mine not look the same?'
"It can be very disheartening. First, you need to believe in yourself. Once you have the confidence, set a goal, and surround yourself with people who can help you achieve that goal."
Catriona continues, "Know that you have that ambition in your heart for a reason. That it's really there for a reason. You need to find people that will support you. And uplift you and give you that support that so many of us need."
And for her, the secret to success involves a constant change of perception. Catriona says, "You really do have to shed all of those exterior perceptions that are placed on us. People who keep telling us who we should be, what success should look like on us and our life. Really accept that we are unique. No two journeys are the same..."
The press met Catriona at the Smart Signature launch party last June 14.
Catriona still has half a year to go before her reign as Miss Universe ends. Has she made any plans what she will do next after relinquishing her crown?
"Let's see," the 25-year-old beauty queen tells the press. "Let's see what opportunities are open to me and let's see how it all plays out. Yes, I'm open to every opportunity, but my love talaga is for music."
Will she consider taking on the role of a life coach, given she often has insightful advice to share? The model-turned-beauty queen answers, "I would love to share things that I've learned along the way.
"Who knows? Maybe I'll do a book one day. Let's see!"
