At 46 years old, renowned newscaster Bernadette Sembrano admits that she’s still open to the possibility of getting pregnant despite being diagnosed with endometriosis and myoma, two reproductive health concerns that make it difficult for women to conceive.
“Hindi natin alam, baka magka-miracle baby, so hindi ko parin isinasara yung possibility,” she says in her interview with comedian Ogie Diaz. “Nag-attempt naman kami […] Mayroon before na magiging baby dapat, si Molly, pero nagka-miscarriage back in 2018."

Bernadette also opened up about experiencing a miscarriage in 2018 when she and her husband tried to conceive a baby through in vitro fertilization or IVF.
“Mayroon akong endometriosis, mayroon akong myoma, so mayroon talagang difficulty in bearing a child,” she shares. “Binubukas mo yung pagkakataon na baka hindi matuloy. No expectations, but we were really hopeful.”
Despite the miscarriage and several challenges that were thrown her way, Bernadette says that it all boils down to how she coped. She admits that she’s still thankful for Molly and the life she wished for her.
“Yung palagi kong pananaw, kapag mahal mo ang isang tao, dapat hindi mo tinatapos sa kamatayan yung pagmamahal mo,” she shares. “Naaalala ko nung nangyari si Molly, all the more akong naging mas bukas sa buhay. Lahat ng mga dreams, nililista ko yung mga wish ko for her. Nung nawala si Molly, sabi ko na the way to love her and continue loving her is to embrace the life that I wished for her.
Iba yung naging grasya sa akin, na ginamit ko siya para mas yakapin ang buhay, and to allow her to live in my heart. Kung ano yung ligaya na idinulot sa akin, parang gusto kong magtuloy-tuloy siya by living a good life.”
